The Bridge - Quetzalcoatl - Advance Preview

Sep 19, 2014

Previously on the Bridge: The CIA is very unhappy with Sonya's investigation, Sonya has the ledger (again, CIA not happy), Marco's misguided plan to get Fausto doesn't end well, Linder is having trouble letting go of the revenge spree, and Eleanor is back on the streets.

Marco:

At the end of the last episode, we saw the end result of a very, very bad plan to get Fausto Galvan. Captured, and with a fellow hostage, Marco Ruiz is in a tough position during this episode. He attempts to reason with Fausto, but Marco's real problem in this episode is that Fausto Galvan isn't really one to be reasoned with. He's made it very clear over the course of the last season that he is sick of running, but he also has no intention of losing his reputation. Fausto's current state of mind is something that Marco will have a tough time figuring out in this episode.

Sonya:

After being shut out by the CIA and having Eleanor basically released from custody, some viewers might expect Sonya to be widely in the dark. These viewers would be gravely mistaken, however. With a bit of help, Sonya is able to make leaps and bounds in the investigation while the CIA really sits and twiddles its thumbs. This is one of those where I can't say too much, but by the end of the episode, you'll know why the season finale is the next episode!

Linder:

All season long, I've referred to Linder as the weirdest character on television. That description has never been truer than in this episode. Linder's revenge spree, while hard work, has been quite advantageous to him. He's found a real purpose and has also started a relationship with Eva that isn't quite as creepy as it was before (Yes, it's still kinda creepy.). The problem that Linder faces is moving on from this purpose once it has expired. In this episode, you could say that Linder finds himself between a rock and a hard place. The exact wording of that sentence will make a lot of sense once you watch the episode!

Rating: 9.4/10 - There is a lot of action in this episode and it proves (once again) that The Bridge is not afraid to kill off characters when you don't expect it. Can you believe the season finale is next week already?

Tune in to The Bridge on Wednesdays @ 10/9c on FX. Be sure to come back here to SpoilerTV to let everyone else know what you thought of the episode.

  1. Great preview Brandon. Having been lucky enough to watch this episode I have to agree, it was very good.

The sad thing is that a) There are 2 quotes I have already forgotten who said it lol and b) the season is almost over!

  2. Wednesday needs to hurry up and get here! I have my guesses as to who is killed off but I am hoping Linder and Eva make it out.

  3. Oh man!! Someone is killed off? Hope it's one of the bad guys. Sonya and Marco are safe. (For me) It would be really sad to lose someone like Eva/Linder/Frye/Adriana. Now that Eleanor is on the streets, does she kill Sonya's mother?

@DarkUFO @BrandonRowe - The lucky few who have seen the episode - can you provide some hints as to who dies?

  7. I wouldn't say it has to be. Good guess though.

  8. I would say that it is unexpected, but not unwarranted given recent developments. That's all I can say though.

  10. Hmm. You say in your review that the show is not afraid to kill off characters when we don't expect it. I could say that given what's transpired, we are already kind of expecting the deaths of Fausto, Captain Robles and Eleanor.

To the 'characters who are safe in 2x12' list, I will add the names of Fausto, Eleanor, Frye and Adriana based on the synopsis of the S2 finale.

The deaths we may not expect at all -

Hank - he already survived a gruesome ordeal and we don't expect him to be in dire conditions again.
Sonya's mom - We expect that she takes her daughter's advice and leaves town. What we don't expect is that she stays and may get killed by Eleanor.
Sebastian Cerisola's daughter - We expect there to be some rescue for her but given Marco's current abysmal condition and no Marines on the horizon, Fausto may kill her.

That leaves me with Eva - she's the one I am most worried about now.

  13. Dont think that will be too much of a problem since there were 3 weeks of consistent increases and this week's ratings only dropped by 0.6 plus the weekly viewers for The Bridge are roughly same as The Americans so i would think it would come down to Live + Online ratings

  14. Can't wait for that episode. This show is getting better and darker. A completely different show (and better!) than last year. My only problem with that show is the ratings. Any news about a season 3 renewal?

  15. I don't know where you get your numbers?
It's hardly the same for the Live, here's a recap :
