I like everything except the Castiel part. Throwing him in a relationship will definitely not change the fact that when he's not involved in the brothers' story, he's just not that interesting.
I think it's interesting to hear RS say ending season 9 with Dean becoming a demon is shocking, but then they have 4 weeks to figure out what they are going to do with it. I think that sums up the problem this show has had since season 6. The showrunners and writers stumble into these plot points, then they try to figure out what happens next. That makes for muddled, inconsistent storytelling. I keep hope alive though that season 10 will be a turn around for this show for the better.
i'm actually surprised that hannah's back cool and she's catiel's love interest nice, and demon dean having bitch and jerk talk with crowley very mad, damn castiel looks like he just gave up strange, can't wait until it comes back, it's going to be a great season, 10 years and running amazing
No to the bitch/jerk part and *sigh* meta. Meta rarely works for me. Other than that seems okay. Nothing too exciting (promos have got me less excited over demon Dean).
Point. I guess since they're not blood related its not quite the same as it would be in human terms.
Maybe it would be as in people of Christian religion calling everyone in their religion brothers and sisters. The people are children of God, siblings under God, but not really related in blood terms.
Yeah I'm kind of tired of Cas having a side storyline involved in Heaven. Heaven problems should have been shown on screen in Season 6 and fixed that same season too. But it's the writers excuse not to have him be an easy fix but at the same time have him on the show. (It's a bad excuse because there have been plenty of options of keeping Cas's story involved with the Winchesters and keep him from being an easy fix if only they really thought it out.)
I agree, I already like Cas and Hannah and I miss Meg... Season 10 looks awesome so far but Singer kinda made me nervous that they don't have the second half planned yet... And finally...OWWWW...Writers, sinceriously? You didn't need to add insult to the injury with the bitch/jerk thing...I've been wanting/waiting for that exchange between the brothers for so long...and now, ya ruined it...I'm in physical pain right now...
Most of this looks really great. So far I only a single complaint/fear and that is about Castiel being separated from the brothers to much. It's still could be a non-issue but I'll wait and see.
Yes and the biggest problem is that they don't realize it! ...Sometimes i think what's on Kripke's mind when he looks at SPN now, can't he do anything about it? they're mistreating his baby man..
Glad to know, that I'm not the only one who likes the idea of Hannah and Castiel (the complaining of Destiel fans on tumblr warms my evil heart right now) I just only hope she is not going to die like almost every woman in the show D:
OMG!!! This is AMAZING!!!!!!! I can't wait! Everything it's perfect, Sam is looking for Dean, Demon!Dean is so sexy as creepy... Poor Cas, I hope he can have something with Hannah and enjoy a little, though surely they will kill her. The only thing I dislike is the blonde girl. To see a waitress of a roadhouse, blonde and young, I prefer Jo Harvelle a thousand times!!!!!!!!!!! Even with Demon!Dean, I prefer Jo with him, at least, she never was a bitch. Dean wants to kill his brother, but he ''saves'' the blonde girl?? Well, let see what happen with this new hunter, because trying to kill Dean is like trying to kill the air with your hands.
I think there are a couple of things going on with the use of Cas. First, I think they honestly don't know how to use him in the story. He started as bad a** Cas and then turned into fish-out-of-water, comic interest Cas. I think they are torn because the Cas people initially fell in love with had powers and that's a hard thing to take away.
The second thing is that Cas (and now Crowley) are on the show, at least in part, to give Jared and Jensen a break on shooting. I've heard and believe that one of the stipulations the Js made in extending their contracts was more time off. This makes sense because they are 10 years older than when they started and they both have families they want to spend time with. For quite a while Cas gave Jared time off. The would throw Dean and Cas in a scene and Sam would be in the same room, but not in the shot. Or Sam would leave the room. By spinning Cas into his own, angel related story, both Jared AND Jensen can get a break, while Misha can shoot Cas scenes with other actors. If they make Cas a human they would have to come up with reasons why he doesn't hunt with Sam and Dean, his good buddies. But hunting with Sam and Dean doesn't give Jared and Jensen fewer shooting days. So the easiest way is to have Cas still involved with an ongoing angel storyline. the fact that some of us find paint drying more interesting is unfortunate. It's too bad that the writers didn't have Dean, for example tell Cas that after the Godstiel debacle that Dean can't trust him enough to have him with them on a regular basis and then have Cas seek redemption for killing thousand of people and angels by hunting on his own. The time for that has passed, so I suspect we will get angels coming out of our ears as long as Cas is on the show.
I think Crowley and Mark Sheppard will give the show the best way of keeping Sam and Dean off screen. Sam and Dean don't trust Crowley and would not work with him permanently, no matter how reformed he may be. As a demon his powers are more limited than an angel and he will only use those powers for his own purposes. Plus Crowley provides comic relief, not by being too naive to figure out how the world works, but by being witty and sarcastic. The writers know how to write Crowley and Mark Sheppard fits the part wonderfully. Having said that, they will probably write Crowley off, because my predictive powers are non-existent, but I do think Crowley is the character that gives the best chance to stay on the show, and give the Js less screen time in an organic manner.
Isn't the only thing right now keeping dean alive the demon? He had an angel blade go through him so if sam cures the demon he will end up having to bury his brother again unless he can be saved from the angel blade. So the demon I think may be dorment in some eps so sam and dean can work cases but I think the mark will go through out the season and how to cure dean of his wound but I think they have to get cas at full power to save dean because dean will not stand for cas sacrificing himself to save dean. so I think the mark and demon dean and cas may go on for awhile and fact that I think dean should pay a visit to metatron to find out where cas's grace is at.
Part of me feels like she will...but not before her and Cas get to have some fun...and awwww....poor Destiel fans *high on sarcasm*...sorry guys, I don't like/approve of that ship.
Side note: your comment about tumblr helped to warm my evil heart so thank you for that ;)
I really like CasxDean relationship but not in the romantic kind of way. I mean, they love each other, but for God sake, there are many kinds of love and not every have to end with “a kiss and sexual activities”. Their profound bound is too unique for that and if they change it, I’m going to feel cheated as hell (that’s my not important opinion). There is no hope for Hannah, huh? Too bad I kinda like her since her first appearance. And damn, Cas needs some angelic friend. Well, new season is going to literally kick my ass. I’m scared!
Dean to Cas in 5.03 FTBYAM (partial) "... this is your last night, anything you want, booze, women?" Cas looks uncomfortable. Dean "You have been with a woman before, or an angel...?" Cas "I've never had occasion to".
So you're right - not Angel-cest as there is no biological relationship between any angels. They all call 'God' "Father" because he was their Creator.
I watch this show for the brothers. But I no longer think I will ever see them the way we used to see them. First Carver has Sam not look for Dean when there was no evidence Dean was dead... Why?!? So we can make Sam the biggest jerk on the planet and give Dean a reason to be mad for half of the season? I still don't know.
Now, Carver starts this Season with Sam looking for Dean when he knows he was dead... "Oh, my brother has risen from the dead and abandoned me... Let's move heaven and earth to get him back." At the end of Season 8 Dean and Castiel could have been zapped to the next block with their memories wiped, no reason to look into that further... Kevin was kidnapped by the king of Hell. What does that have to do with Me, Sam thinks... Maybe I'll look into some college classes....
Where did my sow go!,,
have been waiting for years for the Jerk/bitch thing and it happens between Crowley and Dean?!?!
I'm just sick to my stomach right now. There is nothing they could possibly show me that will make me excited for this season.
There is no link anymore, but that "jerk/bitch" thing you mentioned is a travesty! Did they seriously have that moment btw DD and Crowley?!?!? How dare Carver?
I couldn't agree more w/you. Every time the show cuts away from the main action to focus on Cas and his Heaven/angel story, it breaks up the momentum of the episode. As you said, it's like two shows w/in a show!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I am so looking forward to Demon!Dean. But I literally gasped when Crowley and Dean had the bitch/jerk exchange. DON'T YOU DARE DO THAT.
ReplyDeleteOops, already shipping Cas/Hannah a bit (but forever sad/bitter that Cas/Meg never got a chance).
Can't wait for season ten and looking forward to the 200th episode.
I like everything except the Castiel part.

Season ten is the season I have been waiting for. It looks awesome.

Once again I do not give a crap about Cas' separate heaven storyline.
ReplyDeleteI thought that they had finally worked that out when last year Cas was made human. That didn't last long did it?
