To be honest, the only REAL way for the series to end is to have any and all of Sam and Dean's allies to die and for Sam and Dean to go out "guns blazing" because you need to have their allies dead and gone and for the bros to die and never be brought back. We've already seen Castiel bring Sam back because he was aware of that relationship between Sam and Dean and there needs to be a reason for why Sam and Dean don't come back, and to do that, I think you need to also kill their allies.
I would actually love some sort of cosmic irony, Sam and Dean go out guns blazin', save the day and have their legacy rememberer for all eternity. Cas, now human, takes it on himself to carry their legacy around.
For them to die there needs to be someone to follow in order for them to remain dead
if I was ending the show I'd be incredibly cruel....
we witness Sam and Dean grow more grumpy and grumpy over the final season, Sam gets murdered and is forever a malevolent ghost while Dean ends up a fulltime demon, Cas becomes the new Lucifer and Crowley turns amnesiac human with a moral code
Just to show: "life ain't goin' to give ya watcha want, you'll get the opposite fella"
Glad the cast and fans are on the same page that for the only way the show can truly end is if the brothers die..."guns blazing"...hoping they can end it with a movie though...and have all sorts of monsters (angels, demons, vampires, werewolves, shapeshifters, djinn, ghouls, ghosts, and the like) in this HUGE epic battle with Sam and Dean in the middle...car chases, "big boy" words, amazing special effects (though the show has that already) idk...I think it'd be awesome!
I must be the only person who thinks the boys should be rewarded for all of the years they have struggled and sacrificed to fight the good fight. Sam and Dean have more than earned their shot at a normal life. I would like to see the boys and their allies use the tablets to close the gates of heaven and hell. Any angel or demon who remains on earth becomes human. That would tie in nicely into reality because there are people who are inherently good that perform amazing works to better the lives of others. On the flip side, there are people who must harbor evil in order to commit the heinous acts we see on the news that makes us shudder.
The final scene of the series I would like to see would be a flash forward. Sam and Dean are together with their respective families. Off in another room we see Sam's child and Dean's child quietly conversing. Let's just say they are both boys. Sam's son tells Dean's that he has a magic trick and will show his cousin only if he can keep a secret. Dean's boy agrees and his eyes open wide in shock as he sees his cousin appear use telekinesis move an object into his hand. Fade to black. Is the next generation of Winchesters fated to follow in their father's footsteps? Having said that, I do think Supernatural will end with both Sam and Dean going out in a blaze of glory.
While I do hope the boys die together at the end of the show, I wouldn't be upset if they got a 'driving the impala off into the sunset to keep hunting' type ending either. Basically I just want them to be together, which I fear won't be the case if the show ends under Carver's rule. Wouldn't put it past him to kill Dean and have Sam shrug it off and skip away with Amelia and the kid of his she happens to show up with or something equally awful...
"For them to die there needs to be someone to follow"
There are people that Sam and Dean has taught as in a newer generation such as the kid from "Bloodlines" or that new group of teenager hunters(I forget which season that was in). I don't think whoever has to follow HAS to be from the main group we know, but I do think Sam and Dean has certainly left a "legacy", especially over the past couple of seasons where we've seen the brothers more and more teaching others.
I actually can't stand the idea of them going out guns blazing. I would rather the show end on a positive note for them, and for them to continue on the good fight, guns blazing. More riding off into the sunset for their next adventure and to make their next mark on the world. And I could let my imagination go from there. But I'd rather them /live/ happy and on the same page, instead of always fighting eachother.
Death on this show has proven to mean very little. There's no happiness on the other side, none that they'd believe. So..hell or nothingness or a faux heaven.. I can not see guns blazing death as a worthy outcome for the boys. They deserve more then that.
Screw the whole concept that everything has to end horribly bad because 'that's life fold!'. Bad things happen to good people, yes, but GOOD things happen to good people too.
I agree most of that, in that I believe our boys deserve so much more then to die, AGAIN, and in some permanent way (when we already have seem what's behind the scenes in spn heaven and know it's not a paradise but a parody).
I don't believe the gates of heaven and hell should be glossed, because all of the trapped souls on earth, not exactly good, and one day the boys too would die and be trapped in that horrible torment. But I would like their fate to be left up to our imagination! In part. Ie, they ride off into the sunset in the impala, renewed, invigorated, excited for their next journey, because dang it, they've survived -everything- that's been thrown at them and they literally can take on the world!
They deserve better then a brutal, bloody death. Which, by the way,has been done on the show a million times in every way imaginable. People always complain about things being over done, how about in the end we have a reasonably happy life for our boys, being side by side and not in seriously screwy relationships?? I still don't understand why people are hooked on the idea that the only 'realistic' way for things to end is brutally, when good things /do/ happen in this world.
You've got a point about the gates to heaven and hell being closed. The souls of those who die shouldn't be trapped. Those with a good soul need to walk through the pearly gates and those who are evil need to go in the opposite direction. How about if the gates to heaven and hell only swing one way? One can enter, but cannot leave.
I agree that since Sam and Dean have already died and been resurrected, it would actually be a nice change of pace if they were allowed to live life on their own terms before the show ends.
I agree to some extent... 1. As long as the boys are alive, people are going to want more story so a lot of fans won't get the closure that "Death" can provide them. 2. I would hope by the final sequence they aren't fighting each other but are side by side/back to back fighting off the enemy. 3. Although the boys do die a lot, death still does have a big impact on the show...Kevin, Jo, Ellen, Bobby, to name a few, sure they come back but as ghosts or alternate realities or something to that effect but the fan base and the show still mourn the loss of the characters. 4. Sam and Dean haven't died (fully) yet because they are the main characters. Can you imagine the show without either of them? It wouldn't have lasted a single episode...but with them both dying it kind of finalizes their journey. I think Jared said it in this interview...they could never have a "normal" life, they tried with Lisa, Jessica, Amelia...but always came back to hunting anyway...Idk, although I wish they wouldn't die, it just seems like a good fit for the show...
Best end for Supernatural: They close the gates of hell forever. With the help of Castiel, the angels don't bother again on earth. And as a reward for all they have done and for all they have suffered, God resurrect their loved ones. John and Mary, Jessica, Ellen, Jo and Ellen's husband, Bobby, Ash, Bobby's wife, Pamela... Sam marries Jess, Dean and Jo can have what they couldn't have in life and Dean marries with her. Ellen and her husband bring back the RoadHouse and together they are going to hunt monsters and at the same time, live together as one big family. An end in which the two brothers die is absurd. For me, it's very absurd. They've died so many times and then the two have come back to life so many times that the idea of an ending like that is ridiculous. God, demons... Any creature has brought them back to life, it is absurd that Dean and Sam end up dead, without thinking that they will not come back to life. The best end is the ultimate reward for such sacrifice. That's my own opinion, but I don't want that this show end this season. There are so many things that they have to close in the storyline...
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
