Sons Of Anarchy - Playing With Monsters - Advanced Preview
Sep 22, 2014
GN Reviews Sons of AnarchyWe last left Jax and the MC in some hot water with the Chinese and also doing a bit of house keeping, creating alibi's and giving answers to help Jax's thread of lies on the right track. Jax is playing some dangerous games based on lies, although he doesn't know they are lies just yet. The leader of the Chinese, Henry Lin, needed to know that it wasn't the MC that hit his drugs and guns deal (even thought it was) and Jax pinned it on the Indian Hills charter, specifically the two kids that helped him with his raid. Jury, the leader of the Indian Hills (Devil's Tribe) charter, was extremely unhappy about this, but doesn't know it was Jax that ordered, and was a part of, this murderous cover-up to appease Lin. I feel that Jax is spreading things a little too thin and I wonder when all of the lies and deceit will come crashing down all around him. In any case, this season is turning out to be incredible, with great action sequences and plot details that I love from Sons Of Anarchy.
The episode this Tuesday follows the events of last week's episode closely. Although there are no great action sequences as Episode Two had, the episode tomorrow has some incredible scenes. These scenes are the seeds that will grow into some iconic events for the season and the show. We get some more info on the new Sheriff, Althea Jarry, which you will find out is unlike other Sheriff's we have encountered for Charming. I think everyone will like the new Sheriff, played by Annabeth Gish.
I think everyone will enjoy the episode tomorrow night. The series definitely is taking on a much more darker tone for it's final chapter. Jax, who in previous seasons wanted to become more legitimate, is becoming more and more threatening due to his circumstances. The load of having to deal with Tara's murder is weighing on him heavily. He still has his head in the right place, but it is based on lies. Tomorrow's episode will show more of what he has in store for the people and gangs "supposedly" involved. Jax is setting into motion a series of unfortunate events, which surprisingly, all stem from Gemma's actions last season and the enormous lie she told to him this season. I wonder if she understands what Jax is doing to everyone and everything based on what she has told him?
Scenes to Notice
- In one scene, Gemma is heard speaking to her birds. What she says is a little cryptic and we are left wondering who it was she was referencing.
- There is a scene in a diner with Chibs, and two other characters (I don't want to spoil it, but I'm sure you all will be able to figure out who is present), that will have season long effects.
- Any scene with Jax. His personality and demeanor is nothing like we are used to coming form him. He is headed into some dangerous territory with his complex plotting.
- Chibs has a really interesting scene with the new Sheriff, Althea Jarry. It will definitely be a factor that will play into the many plot lines this season.
Tagline Teasers
My 'Tagline Teasers' section is something I like to add to my 'Advanced Previews' as a special sort of 'Spoiler'. It contains what could potentially be my choice for the title of my Review of the episode. Please pick one in the comment section and the one that gets picked the most will be the one I choose. The Tagline in each selection is usually a quote from the episode that offers a hint as to what the episode is partly about to give everyone an idea of what to expect.

I love Chibs scene near the end with the new Sheriff as well, I'm really excited to see where that story goes
ReplyDeleteYeah, I love they are doing that with the Sheriff.
ReplyDeleteso ready for this episode.
ReplyDeleteJax is almost turning into the villain of this season now. Wendy, Nero, and Unser are the heart of the show now.
ReplyDeleteAre they still continuing the Unser investigation of Tara's murder storyline?
I really really really miss Maggie Siff/Tara. Such a bummer to see her gone. I can't wait till Gemma is bludgeoned to death.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. And yes they are continuing the Unser investigation, but you have to wonder what, if anything, Unser's plans are. Is he gong to be a true officer of the law or is he going to protect the people he cares about using the information he finds?
ReplyDeleteLol, I wonder what her fate will be and who will deliver it to her? I miss Tara's character too.
ReplyDeleteAgain, what about the musics ? ahah
ReplyDeleteno more episode previews?
ReplyDeleteSany, I want to thank you for noticing that I have not put one up recently. I appreciate that. Unfortunately, if FX does not send us the episodes in advance, then my boss can't send it to me to Preview. Sorry. As soon as I get one, I will post a Preview as soon as possible. Thank you
ReplyDeleteYeah, np! I'm a fan of your reviews. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sany! It is very much appreciated!
