I hope Andrew is back because Mellie deserves to be happy with him. And I need Jake and Olivia together but don't hold much hope for that.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't aware Portia was set to appear in the premiere. Well, my excitement was went through the roof.
ReplyDeleteI need Mellie to leave Fitz and do something on her own and identify as a person and not as a first lady.
ReplyDeleteJake and Olivia are a nice possibillity but don't think end game. Shonda has that thing that she fixates on a couple and doesn't let them depart. Exp Calzona.
Mellie is not leaving Fitz. I think what was interesting at the end of both S2 and S3, it was Mellie he turned to when his world fell apart. Like Shonda has said they have a very interesting relationship. And I'd like to see how an Olake relationship might develop overtime. Jake is such an interesting character - very very mysterious
ReplyDeleteI thought her episode was in October. But great if she's going to be in the season opener - awesome news!!
ReplyDeleteJake is a damned abuser. What the hell is wrong with you people? He has given Olivia a concussion and choked her. It is really disgusting to see people wanting this relationship only because he is single.
ReplyDeleteOlivia needs to be on her own for a while and focus on her career.
Fitz did not turn to Mellie at the end of S2 (see S3 episode 1 when he tells her he was pretending to give a damn) and S3 when he is still asking her Olivia during his breakdown. The Meelie and Fitz relationship was lukewarm from the beginning and was over even before Olivia appeared on the scene. People need to stop living in fantasy land. Mellie and Fitz have nothing in common now that he has been re-elected except their remaining kids.

Most people that want Liv with Jake despite the fact that Jake has been shown to have violence tendencies when angry, do so solely because they are rooting for the Grant marriage to work. I am for true love, not for sympathy love, and one thing that Scandal has been consistent about is that Fitz and Mellie's marriage/relationship is not based on true love. A marriage should exist between two people that love each other and continue to do so, not out of emotional blackmail or symapthy. Fitz did not turn to Mellie at the end of S2 or S3, Fitz only went bac to Mellie when he ended things with Liv due to Defiance, and we all so how that ended quickly.
ReplyDeleteIMO, there is absolutely nothing nice about the Jake and Liv's pairing. Anyone out there who roots for the pairing ideals to abusive relationship and betrayal (lest we forget that Jake betrayed his old trusted friend, Fitz to be with Liv and betrayed Liv by never telling her about the existence of a sex tape he made of her). The relationship is based on deceit from the get go, and everything Jake has done to date has been to further his own goal (wanting what Fitz's has) and survival (from B613 and Rowan). Jake play's on Olivia's vulnerability (about her parent) and her need to safe people.
ReplyDeleteThis is not the show I am watching. Mark my world, Mellie and Fitz will not make it. They will stay together for the sake of their surviving children but not for long. Jake and Olivia are also not end game. I think that it is even likely that everyone in this triangle will go their separate way in the end. However, I think the story Shonda is telling is an amicable divorce (I predict in S4), short term Olake with Fitz and Olivia being end-game. I watch Scandal for Fitz, Cy and Rowan, I am not crazy about the love triangle. I must admit in S1, I wanted Mellie and Fitz to work badly, but there is no romantic love between those two and it has been made obvious that Mellie and Fitz were never truly in love or soulmate. I think Jerry's death will make the Grant finally realize that life is too short to waste it in a loveless marriage, and accept reality..
ReplyDeleteSomehow I find Fitz to pretentious! I mean he plays the perfect POTUS, but I really don't like him and I don't see Olivia ever be really happy with him. That is my point of view!
ReplyDeleteAnd about Jake, I think calling it an abusive relationship and based on betrayal is a bit harsh. The relationship between Fitz isn't anything better. They are treating each other in the most terrible way. Hurting each other with words and actions more than some punches could do, and after all that they go back to each other. Following a sick pattern of an forbidden relationship. Don't get me wrong I'm completely against violence abusive behavior etc etc but there Olitz is a really sick relationship as well.
At this moment I'm sick of Olitz, I want Jake and Olivia's relationship to be explored a bit and I see it eventually falling apart cause all of the preasure, but neither current choice for Olivia is a valid one.
Not really fussed about all that much but Mellie - and it looks like it's going to be another painful season for her. Love the angst and it's always amazing to see Bellamy Young working with such good material.
ReplyDeleteIf you call Jake an abuser then Fitz is an emotional abuser. To both Mellie and Olivia.
ReplyDeleteEp title - Randy, Red, Superfreak and Julia. I assume Abby is "Red". I'm guessing Huck is superfreak. Don't who randy and julia are
