Spike TV is venturing into sci-fi with Red Mars, a scripted drama series project based on Kim Stanley Robinson’s bestselling “hard” science-fiction trilogy about the colonization and terraforming transformation of Mars into a place where humans can sustainably live.
The TV series adaptation, named after the first book in the trilogy, will be produced by HBO’s Game Of Thrones co-executive producer Vince Gerardis. Robinson will serve as consultant. “The heart of this series tackles the question of what it means to be human — and can we sustain our humanity under incredible duress,” said Sharon Levy, Spike TV’s EVP Original Series.

Sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteSounds really intriguing but it's so rare Spike has the balls to green light a scripted show I won't get my hopes up.
ReplyDeleteI would check this one out, hope it makes it.
ReplyDeleteAnyone read the books?
ReplyDeleteI read. I won a bet. A friend told me there's no way one can read the whole series in 1 month - and I did. There was a problem though, I managed to flunk a very important exam. And I remember only some details as 3 books in 4 weeks really was too much.
ReplyDeleteLoL,Oh no! I hope you didn't flunk the class and i hope the books were at least enjoyable?.....bet you'll never do that again!
ReplyDeleteSure. I learned my lesson. Try the series, it IS enjoyable. But I do recommend more than 1 month...
