This table shows the early overnight ratings. These ratings are normally adjusted later in the day when all the ratings have been consolidated to take into account any local preemptions and/or overruns. You can find all the final adjusted numbers in our Ratings Database. (See the About section below for details about ratings)

Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.
The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).
Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.
Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above.
Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below). Friday's Final Adjusted Ratings are normally available on the following Monday.

Hawaii Five-0 :( I wish it was higher :(:( Is that really bad for it?

ReplyDeleteIt's about on par with the ratings towards the end of last season. Given that it's on a Friday, it's not too bad. It won the night in scripted programming (not that there's much competition though).

ReplyDeleteLet's see what happens Sunday with MS opposite FOX, ABC and no football lead-in. I wouldn't be surprised if CBS moves TAR back in a couple of weeks. After the quick Monday shuffle, CBS seems to be moving much faster to adjustments.

ReplyDeleteSo Sleepy Hollow's premiere after a day got a 0.5 higher demo than season 2's premiere has after 3 additional days.
ReplyDeleteTAR did really awful, I am shocked. I don't think H50 really did that badly considering lead-in and competition but I wish it could adjust up a bit.
ReplyDeleteEverything seems down. The Amazing Race could have dragged down Hawaii Five-0 and Blue Bloods. They might be on par with their finales but they shouldn't go much lower. A gotham repeat beat a new Utopia, when are you pulling this Fox? I thought Whose Line repeats did better than an 0.3, don't they usually do like 0.6/0.7?
ReplyDeletei don't think it will.It does pretty decent considering the lead-in & friday night.I think it will get a final 6th season at least,although it's too early to talk about it's fate.

ReplyDeleteNot likely. CBS loves the show. It also got a boosted order of 25(!), which is very unusual for a low-rated procedural. It's more likely that CBS will drop POI before H50, since CBS doesn't own that and it has been bleeding the NCIS:LA/NO audience AND finished last behind CF and Forever(!)

ReplyDeleteI really don't thinks so - i mean people this is the first episode, we still have 24 more- the ratings could get higher(i hope they will, i love this show so much) and if they wanted to end the show they wouldn't have ordered season 5 - you all know that when a studio decides to drop some show they just do it. As for the 25 episodes - CBS loves H50 so why not- and we don't know but maybe they are ok with the ratings the show has. We have no idea what they are thinking so lets not talk about the end of this show so so early :)
ReplyDeleteLast season they had to do only 22 episodes due to grace park's pregnancy causing shooting schedule conflicts.So,to compensate that,they balanced out the episode order this season.This has nothing to do with the renewal/cancellation prospect.
ReplyDeleteIt's the new Harry's Law! TMOL and MS were the two most curious pick-ups by NBC and CBS, respectively. I don't see how anyone imagined they would score anywhere close to 2.0 in demo. If they were looking to total audience, I get it, but that doesn't pay the bills unfortunately.

ReplyDeleteIt will probably one of the most devestating cancellation ever (for me) if it gets cancelled
CBS pretty much took a risk this year by bringing in 6 new dramas for the year. They probably inferred that one or two of those shows will get cancelled (even harder now to predict with the way the ratings are going right now). They also know that if they wanted to keep the popular new dramas while bringing in new shows next year, they might have to dump a few of their veteran shows. Last season (Fall-Spring), CBS had 10 returning dramas and only 2 new ones. This year has 10 returning and 6 new ones. If they want 16 dramas next year, sacrifices are to be made.The way I see it, no one is safe right now. If I were to put my money on shows getting the ax, The Mentalist is already out. CSI is getting pretty stretched out, in addition to a bad time slot and a shortened season. Elementary might continue to lose viewers since they didn't necessarily end last season on a high note. Only problem is that both are CBS owned, so they won't be let go easily. Another way I see CBS working out the kinks is to shorten the seasons for both new and veteran shows. Speaking of which, does anyone know what the episode orders are for the freshman dramas this year?
