Looking down this list and seeing just how many of these options I could easily pick for my votes really says a lot for just how enjoyable the episode was. I used to consider Gatiss one of the weaker "Who" writers, but after "Crimson Horror" and now this one, I officially take it back!
Loved the spoon duel, the bickering, the archery contest, the beautiful goodbye scene... The photo of Patrick Troughton was a lovely touch as well - as was that fabulous little moment (for the "other" category) of Third Doctor-style Venusian Aikido: "Hai!"
I loved the dungeon scene and how it showed that Twelve can do comedy in such a straight way, it worked very well. The goodbye scene was loaded with mystery as well as being poignant for both characters as they touched upon their hero, and mythical, status. But I also have to vote for seeing Troughton in his BBC Robin Hood role, he's one of my favourite Doctors!
The picture only flashed up very briefly, it's among all the other Robin Hood pictures they look at on the ship's database and taken from when he played Hood for the BBC.
Haha yes, far too many quotes to chose from today for Quote of the Week in that one scene alone, let alone the whole episode. Hood and Twelve were great together :)
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
The dungeon, the spoon and the contest made it for me :D
ReplyDeleteLoved the dungeon scene, Clara totally got her disapproving teacher voice on!
ReplyDeletethe credits
