Definitely a knock-off of The Walking Dead but the twist with the guy who carries the cure was interesting. Not going to watch from now on, though since I didn't like it.
It was awesome! A zombie show that doesn't take itself too seriously, how it should be. The quirky characters are very interesting and the twist at the end with Harold Perrineau's character dying was shocking. A couple stupid moments here and there, but it's not like The Walking Dead, for example, doesn't have its stupid moments either.
I wouldn't say it is a knock-off of the Walking Dead. Aside from being set in a zombie apocalypse, the two shows are very different - Z Nation doesnt try to imitate The Walking Dead at all. The former is tongue in cheek, the latter takes a more dramatic approach.
ok, I watched it like it was one of the SyFy B-movies, and thought that it was ok. It was definitely high on the cheeseball scale with a lot of the typical apocalyptic action movie tropes but that was most likely the point. I do wish that it had a bit more cornball humor, as it did have a feel that it might be taking itself a bit more seriously than it should be, but then there was the zombie baby...... lol that's pretty cornball... I might check out more eps, but it wont be a priority
I didn't hate it. Okay is the word. But I, too, feel it would benefit more from embracing its comedy elements and stripping away the more serious components. More Zombieland, less TWD.
Far superior to the Walking Dead. For one thing, it's terrifying. The Z Nation writers obviously understand that when 90 percent of the human population are zombies, you're bound to run into them constantly. The only thing that people do on Walking Dead is deal with their own little small problems. Oh I'm pregnant. Oh I'm in love. Oh my mom is dead. How boring. Z Nation is cooler. I hope they keep it up.
Faster moving zombies were great. Showing that they are a real threat was great. It was paced so much better than Walking Dead. The only thing was, I felt the main cast was too weak to carry this series. No one really stood out to me as being a character I would care about except for the one guy they had eaten by the baby! I'll give it a few eps watch, but they need a stronger cast to hold this thing together.
The story line is good the zombies are different from most zombie shows a little scary aside from DJ Qualls the cast sucks. Charlie Hammond was great too bad he is dead The rest of the cast like other people think can't carry this show.
Same as walking dead except it is monkey porn trying to get a guy to the government cuz he knows the cure. A few known actors in it and they look like its their first show ever.
Idk if i'm late on this or not but also not sure if there ever been a zombie baby before but if there isn't then this show is the first to finally pull the trigger on zombie baby something we want to see on TWD but probably will never see lol
Love it! Can't wait fo more!! I like that it is years down the line and people are already together trying to fight. And, these Zombies are smart. Laying in the water faking "final death"? Holy shit, brilliant! They are something to watch out for.
Isnt AMC making a spin-off to TWD?... i thought i was watching that, lol... they said the spin-off was to be in a different part of the country as this is.... also when i saw Micheal from LOST, i said WOW, Im watching this show to the end... then BOOM he DIES... but i will stick with this show till TWD starts up again, lol....☺...

ReplyDeleteDid anyone else catch the subtle comment about Rick Grimes n family ?
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a cheesy version of TWD. Even have a sword wielding Michone. Has a "SyFy Saturday Night "movie feel.
TWD will outshine them all.
Eh. Not very impressed. But I will check out the second episode before I decided whether or not to add it to my queue.

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed it, had some funny lines and was scary in places. Will stay with it for a few eps.
