This was possibly the best ep yet. Really scary scenes. And really good scenes. It just had everything. I cannot wait for next week. This show keeps getting better and better.
Yes, and I think this is precisely why she is there. She might be a liability, but she is still Nora's mother. They have to deal with the situation and come up with a solution.
Okay. THAT tunnel scene was claustrophobic and frightening and intense. Oh, The Strain, when I thought you had shown me all the terror you had to offer, you get everyone down below to be followed by a contorsionist Strigoi. It genuinely made me worry for Fet's safety. Eph's bickering with him was the funny note on a really powerful ep. The Master was also scarier than last time. Those red eyes... and his army.
I would actually consider this the first "awesome" episode since "For Services Rendered". It hit all the right marks and exposes everyone realistically. Even though annoying, Nora's mother's portrayal is real and that bothers people, especially Zach, who had no other choice but to comply (he IS a child). The meeting between The Master and the crew was intense, and Setrakian's response was horrifyingly beautiful. I also liked some of those tunnel scenes, especially the claustrophobic one.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
one of my favorite episodes !!! BADASS AS F**K.

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, this was one of intense hours of TV ever! Loved it! :)
ReplyDeleteAll this episode needed was Mr. Quinlan and it would have been perfect! 4 A SILVER CANE SWORD AND A RAT CATCHER, I am Nobody!!!
ReplyDeleteWow Zach, Mariela and Abraham pissed me off in this episode, but still a great hour.
ReplyDeleteGood action in a pretty good episode
ReplyDeleteFor a moemnt , I thought Abuela Martinez tinkered with Abe's incased strigoi heart. Thank goodness she didn't!
ReplyDeleteOh heaven help me.... I'm so sick of Nora's mother
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, this is a very realistic depiction of how people with full blown Alzheimer's act. Sad.
ReplyDeleteAwesome episode!
ReplyDeleteWas it just me, or did the Master seem somewhat less cartoony and more menacing here than in his first appearance?
Btw, what's up with Zack taking photos of the random dead clerk?

ReplyDeleteI hope that's irony. I had to use flash-forward.
