Okay, the ABC dramas have set out to cause me pain and they've succeeded. I'm emotionally destroyed again. Thanks so much.
I'm so worried about Juliette because she needs real help and no one is getting her any. Also, the baby better be Avery's.
The live parts weren't a hot mess like I expected and I'm kinda sad about that but great job. LOL.
Nooooooooooooo to Raina picking Luke. This isn't going to end well at all, and poor Deacon. Ugh. And I hate Teddy but I loved him telling Maddie that if it wasn't for Deacon, he wouldn't have her. That was sweet.
Rayna's choice was so predictable. I hope that TV writers realize that not going down the predictable path, in this case her choosing Deacon, has in fact made an entirely new predictable path where you can almost always count on the person people are mostly rooting for getting hurt.
Too be honest, Rayna is obviously choosing the safe option, and I don't believe for one second that her relationship with Luke will survive the season. I doubt it will survive by mid-season.
Some casting news indicated that a new woman will be coming in to Deacon's life, so I don't think he'll be alone long.
It seems that they are hinting at the upcoming issues that Raina will have to face with this choice she made. Luke is violent, angry and jealous but pretends that it is different. I really do not think this is going to end well.
I enjoyed the ep but I could only vote good as I felt it was very predictable on a few points. Rayna picking Luke being the main one. Saw that coming a mile away. But as a whole I think it will (could) be an interesting season. I'm looking forward to Deacon and Maddie, Gunner and Avery were fantastic, Juliette and Avery and I know it will eventually come back to Deacon and Rayna.
When the show first started Avery on my screen simply annoyed me. He was a big jerk and I just didn’t like him, now he’s easily one of my favourites! Well done to the writers for doing an amazing job redeming him so seamlessly! It felt so natural and authentic that I can’t really even remember when he started to change into being someone I root for.
I loved this episode, i was a great season opener and I loved both live performances they were great. I knew Rayna would pick Luke but she does truly still loves Deacon and has mixed feelings on him because she doesn't want to get hurt but this is definitely not the end of them.
I thought it was a solid start -- albeit a bit predictable. I liked how the live acts were incorporated almost seamlessly to the show. There wasn't a lot of story development but there were a number of resolutions that set up the stage for the rest of the season.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteI knew Rayna wouldn't pick Deacon. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteA lot of pain in this episode. Most of the characters are a mess. The road trip was funny though.

Waiting all summer for some kind of resolution . . . and not getting any. Bring on some music because the drama is really too sudsy.

ReplyDeleteYes, that casting news kinda gave it away that Rayna was going to pick Luke, so I was expecting it.
ReplyDeleteWhere is the promo
ReplyDeleteExactly. And it's even more predictable if we consider Rayna's endgame is probably with Deacon anyway...

Jonathan Jackson's drunk Avery Barkley stole the show, everything else was predictable or boring.

ReplyDeleteThe only thing I'm truly hoping for is that this baby is Avery's.
