It was ok. I'll watch it again but if anything puts me off from watching it more, it would be the obnoxious kids. Not funny, not cute and not endearing.
I think it was pretty good. The only bad thing was the kids, dear lord. Get them off the show or tone them down ASAP! And the show should get better writers. Overall pretty good. If this show wants to survive it needs to improve fast. B-
This isn't what i thought it was going to be. It had a few moments, so i voted it ok. I'll have to give it my 3 episode run. And i do like Debra and Josh, so i'll try again, i think it was the very end that saved me.
I was entertained, when she was at work her home life not so much, those boys just to obnoxious and her lack of support from their dad, the procedural part of the show could probably work her dealing with the boys, not so much, from what I saw looks like this will be one of the shows that flops I like Debra Messing I wish her success this show I hope I'm wrong!
I found it enjoyable, tbh. I really like Messing and I found the sillyness of the show charming. It has some issues, dialogue mostly, but tone wise I do think it could be compared to Castle, albeit less witty and still a lot of kinks to get rid off.
Honestly, really not as bad as people were touting it to be. But I agree that the boys should be tone down, they bring nothing much. All in all, not really a groundbreaking show, or a particularity clever one, but enjoyable nonetheless.
I did liked the twist with the murderer, but it either seemed to sudden or rushed; it could definitely had been a storyline with a lot more emotional punch instead of a first case, it just seemed like to much so soon, even too coincidental, not to say contrived.
Given this is NBC, and the show doesn't looks like a hit, I sadly don't see it going beyond a first season.
I will watch the next ep, but would like it better if they gave her a divorce and got rid of the brats. I will stop watching IF they have very much of the kids.
It was OK. I didn't dislike it. But it didn't grab me. For some reason Debra Messing seemed to be working really hard to hide her natural sense of humor. Not like she wanted to tell jokes or anything but more like...she was forcing herself to be serious. For me it made her performance feel like a performance. The best moment from her, for me, was when her soon to be ex-husband announced he was now her boss.
The biggest problem I have is that IMHO they are lousy parents. Pre-K? Neither one of those boys looked younger than 6. Were they supposed to be the humor? They weren't. What they did do was diminish any likability the characters had developed. When she said 'maybe I am a lousy mother?' I thought "Yes."
I'll watch another couple of episodes and hope that they fixed some of these problems after they saw the pilot.
I thought the Pilot was funny at times, at the beginning (which was what I saw most of) but those kids are terrors it's the only thing that I didn't like but Debra was great as always. She can handle those kids and handle being a cop.
I went back and forth throughout the episode whether I would watch a second episode - the kids were severely annoying, as was the "ex"-husband - saw him being transferred as a superior to same division as soon as it was mentioned he was also a cop, though didn't see him replacing Enrico as the Captain (though with Person of Interest and Remedy I should have expected Enrico wouldn't be hanging around.) - but Debra was really good.... overall it just didn't appeal enough IMO so won't be watching another episode.
Finally I watched it and ... must say that was good (at least not bad as I was reading around). Best moments: the clumsy attempts to take some rest while she was working (a glass of red wine, the cheesecake, the irresistible SPA 'temptation'). Hilarious.
Worst parts: a totally asshole husband, atrocious kids. And, no, I didn't like at all how they got rid so quickly of Enrico Colantoni character. There's a scent of Murder She Wrote ...
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
It was great Debra Messing was amazing the twins boys is handful over all good pilot I will continue to watch

ReplyDeleteI did not like it. Naughty children and poorly written Jokes? were not funny.
ReplyDeleteTurned off after 13 minutes. This was awful.
