  1. Simply put: One of the best hours of television ever made. Period.

Words to describe the season finale: Emotional. Exhilarating. Shocking. Fantastic. Flawless. Superb. Exceptional.

Flawlessly acted with a superb story.

Some of the best acting and well written characters of any show. (Not the only one, but definitely one of the best)

    Bring on Season 2!!

  2. What a perfect way to conclude an overall fantastic season. I'am still trying to sink in all that has happened in the last hour and there are so many emotions running through my head. Wow, what I just saw was just utterly remarkable.

What the Guilty Remnant did was above and beyond the most f***ed up thing I have EVER seen on television. Nothing can surpass what they did to the citizens of Mapleton. They definitely deserved what they got to them tonight.

Justin Theroux and Carrie Coon's acting on this show is unlike anything I have ever seen. Their scenes are so raw and emotional that you cant help but feel for both their characters. My heart was aching when Nora found her "dummy" family in the kitchen and when Kevin confessed his affair to Matt at the diner. Really intense stuff.

When Nora found Holy Wayne's child on Kevin's doorstep, I immediately smiled and was happy for her. She finally has a new lease on life and purpose for being alive. My guess as to what Kevin's wish was to Holy Wayne was that he wishes to have his family back together. And I believe his wish was granted when he saw Nora and Holy Wayne's child on his doorstep. He can start a new family with a new baby, Jill, and Nora. Whether or not he wanted to have Laurie and Tom back in his life too is the question.

Overall, this finale was definitely unforgettable and made the show become one of my all time favorites. I can't wait to see what's in store in season 2.

  3. That nightmare Kevin had was so horrifying! I did quite like the finale and the season as a whole. I quite like that this show divides viewers so much. It's not some middle of the road bland crap.

  5. I still am not sure what to make of all this so the dogs are bad because hardly anyone is left alive in the world and so they turned feral or what

  6. Somewhere along the way this show went from a B/B+ kind of series to an A all the damn way. I really loved the finale, I loved the complete chaos when Matt and Kevin come back to town, I loved how truly messed up the GR 'stunt' was. I loved that it was a surprisingly optimistic ending for the season, within the space of a few minutes it went from Nora sounding like she might kill her, to her leaving, to her finding the baby. And Jill's little smile at the end says it all. Oh and the dog, the dog could come back and be 'normal'. There is hope!

I'm fascinated to see where the series is going to go next season.

  7. I think the dogs went crazy because they lost their owners and also animals tend to be effected by weird shit. Others have mentioned it in the comments before but they are a representation of those left behind. When we see the dog at the end its proof that they can be domesticated again and can be normal, they can move on much like people can. They are a symbol of hope. Whereas the mysterious Dean thinks they can't be fixed much like humans can't be.

  9. What an amazing finale!!! And I got my wish...Kevin meet Holy Wayne. :-) I´m gonna miss him next season. I hope we can still find out a bit more about Wayne through the other characters.
Kevins wish must have had something to do with his family. Did he wish for Tom to return? (he did) or Jill to be happy again? (she smiled in the end) Or for Laurie to return to him? I doubt that because of Nora, but who knows?!

Matt and Kevin make a good team. Both actors do a fantastic job and all their scenes were spot on. I loved the kaos they returned too. We only soor the Mayor really shortly, I hope there is more to her story to explore next season.

The GR are really difficult to understand. They are so creepy and what an awful thing to do to other people. I wonder what is gonna happend to them after the kaos. Will they continue their quest to make people remember?

Did anybody read the book? Was the end the same?

  10. The end of the season is essentially the same as the end of the book so I am very interested to see where it goes next season!

  11. For a second, I actually thought Nora might take the baby with her.

  12. I did not expect less but whoa that was amazing! Brilliant, heartbreaking, hopeful and hopeless, just mind blowing. This turned out to be one of the best TV shows ever. I can't wait for next season. I hope they do find parts of themselves to pick up in this new paths they're taking, even the ones that stay will be rocked to their core by the GR stunt. The shear perfection of this makes me wonder how they kan keep something so good up. The acting was amazing, so was the writting, as usual everything was spot on.

  15. "it went from Nora sounding like she might kill herself, to her leaving, to her finding the baby."

I was almost screaming at the screen for her to not do it! i really thought she was going to look for the gun and end everything.
And btw Why did Tom elave teh baby in front of the house? that was so weird e.e

  16. I just came from a web site where almost everyone hated this show. It wasn't really bad, but how can you explain the hate shown by the Guilty Remnants towards their own families (not the lost ones), the dogs, the smoking, wearing white only? Speaking at Denny's restaurant once a year when you want a break? Justin Theroux blanking out and doing things he did not remember? Just too many "why's" and "how come's" to deal with. I have no idea why ANYONE could say this was a great series unless you were in production or invested in the show. If you want to get emotional, scratch your head and ask why? Just watch the news. A man killed his kids aged 1-8 in South Carolina and drove their bodies to Alabama and dumped them. Now, scratch your heads, wonder why, and how come he did this? You don't need a damn show to turn human craziness into entertainment, we have enough of that already.

  17. Hmmm...I guess it just depends on what kind of show you like. Sons of Anarchy is a great show, that shows a totally different lifestyle than mine. I find it interesting. Breaking Bad is about a teacher cooking meth....could it be any worse? But yet it is an awesome show.
The Leftovers has a fantastic cast, great mysteries and I loved that it took it´s time to get settled in and turned out to be the best show of the summer in the end.

  18. Just binge watched the first season and I just had to bump this article.
I went throughout the season from very intrigued to annoyed, angry, amazed, pissed and last but not least: speechless.

I was really hoping for real answers in these final episodes, but without getting them the last two episodes made somehow still up for that.
The story really sucked me in, sometimes rooting for the GR, sometimes for the town and sometimes for Holy Wayne. One of the BEST finales I have ever seen!
