    Well you have dumb ass carter marks who still think its some conspiracy that carter got killed off in favor of root and shaw and whole bunch of other stuff that sounds stupid. then john fans thinks she steals his spotlight. im happy that the root and shaw hate is not as heavy as it was when season 3 first started.

    She came of as 'too badass' when she was introduced and felt a bit forced into the shows machinery. But I've grown to enjoy her.
    She's not as fun or badass as Root but she's fun...

    See, the problem I have with Root is she kind of became that "too badass" character. Once she started talking to the Machine she basically became invincible and now she just gets on my nerves every time she is on-screen.

    I agree, she became a Mary Sue but when Shaw was introduced she was the Mary sue. It's all about the introduction.

    Root was a badass hacker, not too badass but still awesome. Shaw was a Mary Sue in her introducion (and that pouty mouth). so while people grew to hate Root I grew to like shaw over time.


    It was the same with Reese for me, he was just 'too badass' in the pilot but the better we got to know him the more i grew to love him.


    But let's face it: there is only one brilliant character on that show: BEAR4thewin

    I think Jim once said he was very relieved he didn't have to do all the stunt scenes by himself.. and it did get a little repetitive, letting him do all the physical work.

    So I don't really get it.. I think they add wonderfully to the cast, both of them. Also, I think John is on screen quite much... so I don't see any reason to complain.


    Root might be a bit overpowered but I enjoy(ed) her development but I think Shaw also has come a long way. Her arc is more subtle, but you can clearly see her changing towards helping people and actually caring (a little ;) ). Both grew into Team Machine, I think.



    Oh, I forgot about the Carter "conspiracy".. yeah I read a lot about that as well. So much has been said about that already, so I'm not gonna add to that
