— Synopsis: The miniseries will start with a spectacular diamond robbery, our entry point into the seedy European underbelly caught in a ominous alliance of gangsters and finance bandits.
Fabrice de la Patellière, big shot at Canal+'s original creation department, adds this: "It's the story of robbers who still fascinate people to this day. Through the hunt of a handful of them, the show will depict the portrait of an Europe caught in new forms of criminality where smugglers, European civil servants, war criminals and bankers get tangled up".
Caroline Benjo, producer, said: "The enthusiasm of Canal+ and Sky Atlantic has carried us through the development, and now the production of this massive international series, an ambitious work of art, modern and without concessions on today's Europe. Through the points of view of several characters, Panthers asks the question of knowing if the alliances of the past can survive today's cruel realities and shows how much the personal stories in each of us and the moral choices we make have an unpredictible impact on our lives."
Panthers joins other upcoming new Canal+ original series coming in 2015:
- Le Bureau des Légendes (espionage drama) - 10 episodes.
- Spotless (dramedy) - 10 episodes.
