Mouse over the top part of the video screen and you'll see the "Skip Ad" button. Also, I accidentally discovered that if you wait 30 seconds the video will start without the ad playing.
That was an unexpected moment. Liked it. This Murtagh is completely different than what I expected from the book but I like this actor and interpretation quite a bit.
I am absolutely loving the show. I've reread (or listened to) the first book 4 or 5 times now, but I am refusing to allow myself to reread it before the broadcast is finished. I think Ron Moore has done a wonderful job. It's easy to see why Diana Gabaldon has projected a such an feeling of trust with regard to the production.
The element that I was really worried about was the casting and I've found that outstanding. The interpretation of the story has been exactly what I was hoping for though I am coming to agree with some that Jamie feels a little absent. Though I also think that, since the books are first person, that some of the friendship building conversations that Jamie and Claire had at the beginning of the book *felt* bigger to me in the book despite being pretty faithfully enacted on the show. But I can't verify that until I'm allowed to re-read it.
I do strongly recommend the books (especially the first 3) if you enjoy the genre. I also very strongly recommend the audiobooks read by Davina Porter.
I've not read the books, but have fallen in love with this series! But with this interaction I was wondering if there was history between Murtagh and Jamies mother? The way Jamie asked Murtagh for his thoughts on if his mother would agree to him marrying Claire and how he responded makes me think either they had something going on or they are blood related.
I have deleted so many sentences from my posts in an effort not to spoil major set ups. Mostly its because I'm trying to remember if they've changed a set up. I know this is spoilerTV but I don't want to ruin anyones fun. But the answer to your question isn't a major plot point. Murtagh is Jamie's godfather.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Srsly I have to watch a 1:25 ad before I can see your content, um, just no.
