ABC continues to expand its trademark family comedy brand with another high-profile project. The network has put in development Nuclear Family, from writers/executive producers Pete Huyck and Alex Gregory and executive producers Todd Holland and Karey Burke.
The project, from Holland and Burke’s Dark Toy Entertainment and ABC Studios where the duo is under an overall deal, chronicles the misadventures of self-professed altruists Rick and Barbara Foley, who adopted eight children from all over the world, some with special needs. Having bit off way more than they can chew, their radically different parenting styles and narcissistic, self-serving behavior have created a hurricane of teenage dysfunction, at the center of which is their often-overlooked only biological child.
