New Girl - Episode 4.02 - Preview: "Dice"
Hi everyone! I figured I would try something different this week since I felt like the advance preview for the premiere contained just a little too much information to be considered a preview, yet not enough to be a review. So for this week, I will give you just a little more than a synopsis, but not enough so that you feel like you've read the entire episode within 24 hours of watching the show.
"Dice" features two main plots, a Jess/Schmidt learning experience and the concurrent plot featuring the rest of the gang. Surprisingly, Winston is featured prominently with Nick, Coach, and Cece. He is not the third string character this week. The titular 'Dice' is the hot new mobile dating app that Schmidt has been having luck with when it comes to the singles dating scene in Los Angeles. Jess sees his success and is ready to try something different, but in classic Jess fashion, online mobile dating is not her strong suit. Schmidt takes it upon himself to teach her the curves about the mobile dating scene and how a simple swipe can determine if you just passed the love of your life or fell victim to a raisin farmer.
Meanwhile, Winston wants to fit in with the cadets in the police academy any way that he can. He is collectively referred to as 'Winston Bishop', no cool nickname like all the other cadets. He enlists the help of Nick, Coach, and Cece to make him look good at a good old-fashioned cookout, but little does he know that the trio is high as a kite. Party antics ensue as the group becomes more and more paranoid about being arrested by the fifty or so cops on scene at the BBQ. I'm staying true to my word and I will not reveal anymore. I hope you all enjoy the episode and check back here for my review on Wednesday, favorite quotes, and the larger takeaway message of tomorrow night's New Girl.
