David Ayer, the gritty filmmaker whose World War II tank drama Fury hits theaters next month, is circling Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment project Suicide Squad.
The project had been in development with Justin Marks attached to write for a couple of years, but sources say it was put on the back burner when focus turned to Warner Bros.' other DC Entertainment property Justice League.

So I guess this decreases the chances of seeing a Suicide Squad spin-off.

ReplyDeleteNot a piece of good news, remembering the way DC usually deals with its properties (keeping their bigger names away from television to keep a clear line between their top tier franchises and their second rate ones) I'm afraid that this might be another creative bloc DC puts in the way of its own creative teams on Arrow/Flash
ReplyDeleteThe Flash movie while also having a TV show about the character (with Zoom and other Flash villains), same with a Gotham show and upcoming Batman film/crossover kinda defeats that argument. That and there's already a suicide squad on Arrow.

ReplyDeleteWith Gotham, I think it's different because Batman himself isn't on that series and likely won't ever be even if it lasts many years. Only young Bruce Wayne. So it doesn't matter that much if it run parallel to Batman films.

ReplyDeleteIt means nothing bc they will cast entirely new ppl for the movie. DC clearly stated that TV and Movie will be separate from each other.
ReplyDeleteso in this movie the fearsome Suicide Squad will actually have a chance to become heroes different but awesome, weirdly enough they didn't turn deadshot into a straight-up villain on arrow, even diggle said he had more honor than waller so it is possible for them to become heroes

ReplyDeleteI know that's what they are... doesn't change the fact that it's going to be weird to have multiple versions of the same character around at the same time, one on film and one on TV.
ReplyDeleteWhy? This has always been the case between DC's movies and its animated television. Doing it for live action is really just a small extra step.
