Maron - Renewed for a third season

Sep 16, 2014

Maron, IFC's excellent comedy series centered around a fictionalized version of famed podcaster and cat lover Marc Maron, has been renewed for a 13-episode third season to air next Spring!

Season 2 ended on July 31, while Garfunkel & Oates picked up the comedy mantle on August 7 with a promising first season currently airing each Thursday night, while Comedy Bang Bang will grace us with 10 new episodes starting October 17.

Production on these new episodes of Maron will begin in Los Angeles this fall.

It's too bad that Maron, heading in season 3, doesn't have a category of its own here - heck, it's just sad that more people around here don't know about the show and thus weren't watching it. But who knows, maybe this announcement will make people want to check it out, knowing the fun will continue in 2015! It's funny, original, honest and it has heart.

Here is what parties involved in the making of the show had to say about this renewal:

- Jennifer Caserta, president of IFC: "Usually Marc has a hard time maintaining long-term relationships, but luckily not with us. He's committed to bringing his wry humor and refreshing perspective back to IFC for a third season".

- Maron said: "I am very proud of both seasons of the show and thrilled we're doing another one. Through all the episodes I can see the growth and evolution of the character, writing and comedy. I’m excited about getting back into the process. The character of Maron needs some work on and off screen and fortunately that’s what drives the show".

- And Nancy Cotton, senior VP of programming at Fox TV, said: "We're thrilled about being in business with Marc and IFC for season 3, and gratified to offer even more viewers the opportunity to watch this witty and wickedly honest show".

EDIT: I am bumping the thread because there seems to be a nasty bug (or a merry prankster) that keeps putting threads I created at 8-9PM yesterday at 7:55AM instead, 13-14 hours earlier, thus resulting in people overlooking it (not that Maron is a big blockbuster, but if it gets that kind of treatment it's surely not helping its popularity). I for one think it's a valuable thread (it's not "The Originals - Episode 2.01 - Sneak peek #36"-valuable, but still).

  1. it's not "The Originals - Episode 2.01 - Sneak peek #36"-valuable, but still haha I don't watch Maron but I like that SpoilerTV covers all kinds of shows, not just the ones with big fanbases.
