Following a multiple-network bidding war, the network has handed out a 10-episode order to drama Manhunt
The pickup is cast and script contingent, meaning if either fails to work out, NBC does not have to move forward with the series. NBC is not negotiating with anyone to star at this time.
Each season of Manhunt, which will be directed by Gavin Hood (Oscar-winning film Tsotsi), will dramatize the mounting tension of an entire city on the hunt for a fugitive roaming the streets at large. It will examine the moment an American, or international city, becomes a police state, a war zone or a ground zero and the ensuing bloodlust it inspires. Whit Braytonand Zack Rice will pen the scripts and exec produce the Universal Television drama alongside Hood, Michael Sugar, Alex Goldstone and Nicole Romano.

This sounds interesting but I'm not sure this series can survive on NBC.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking that too...NBC is known for canceling their shows (think the black donolleys, the cape, etc)...Then again so is fox and abc and cbs....

ReplyDeleteCable networks are slowly loosing some patience with there shows. They're looking for their next Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, etc.

ReplyDeleteThey're trying to find it faster, lol. I'm not sure they're willing to wait 2 season for a show with subpar ratings unless it's getting critical acclaim all over the place.
ReplyDeleteyeah, i guess ratings are everything. maybe these network shows need to get better writers and producers and directors in order to make a superb show like breaking bad or the walking dead or SOA, etc.
ReplyDeleteI feel like NBC is the right network to have picked this show up but then again i feel like a cable network would of been better off with show like AMC but idc what network its ons just hoping it airs
ReplyDeleteThe thing with Crossing Lines is that NBC was only the show's US broadcaster, nothing more. It's an overseas co-production which NBC is not a part of so they have nothing to lose if the show doesn't do well in the ratings.
