Great idea! This show deserves to go down in history and be remembered! For me the end was perfection!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the article. Can't wait to read it.
ReplyDeleteLOST I LOVE YOU.
ReplyDeleteA grea way to celebrate Lost's greatness! It was a hell of a season, before the last season. Looking forward to articles, I'll contribute in the morning when I'm behind my laptop(Europe TZ).
ReplyDeleteBut I'm always awful with quotes, but I'll find something for sure.
God, I miss Lost.
ReplyDeleteDamn, i miss this show. There is still no other show as intriguing as Lost was.
ReplyDeleteThe best tv show ever made . The end
ReplyDeleteI love Lost, there has been nothing like it since - many pretenders, and many fantastic shows too, but nothing that matches the experience of Lost. It's likely that nothing ever will though, and for that I am thankful for Lost.
ReplyDeleteloooosttt. come back to be bb!
ReplyDelete#1 Favorite show ever! I watch a season every year.
ReplyDeleteFavorite Season: 1 & 4, not sure which one i'll choose. I'll probably flip a coin.
Favorite Character: John Locke, such a miracle and tragedy, at the same time. Ben Linus is a close 2nd.
Favorite Quote: Jack Shepard: "If we can't live together, we're going to die alone."
Favorite Plot Twist: Drawing a blank? There's a lot of them. I guess maybe Jack becoming a believer in the end, and accepting his destiny. I'll have to think on that a bit.
How did you feel about the end?: I loved the ending!!! I did not like most of the Island story, in season six. I really loved the Flash Sideways/ Purgatory storyline in s6. I liked Richard's back story, and The End for the Island storyline.
Favorite season: Season 1.
ReplyDeleteFavorite character: I picked Mr. Eko, I'm not positive that he's my favorite, but it would require a lot more time and maybe some spreadsheets for me to be certain, and I don't want to do all that. I'm not really sure why, but I always really liked him, and I was so bummed when he died.
Favorite quote: Again, this would require time and spreadsheets, but off the top of my head, I picked "We have to go back!" I think we all know who said that.
Favorite plot twist: First thing that came to mind was the flash-forward. Unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to watch the show regularly until the end of season 2, and I got caught up on the show during the hiatus after the first six episodes of season 3, so the flash-forward was the first big twist that I saw live with full knowledge of what had happened on the show previously.
How did you feel about The End?: I never liked the "flash-sideways," and I was glad to find out that they weren't really an alternate timeline like they wanted us to believe for most of the time. Unfortunately, the fact that they weren't an alternate timeline also meant that most of the flash-sideways stuff was pointless, and I think that there are ways that they could have pulled it off in a way that didn't make most of it pointless. I actually liked the "church" stuff a lot when it aired, but as time has gone on, I've liked it less and less, I still don't hate it like a lot of people do, though. I do think that the actual ending being a mirror of the pilot with Jack laying in the jungle dying and his eye closing was excellent, and just about the only way they could have ended it.
I love Lost so much so thanks for this.
ReplyDeleteFavourite Season: 4, I am always kind of bummed about the Writers Strike cutting that season short by a couple of episodes but I loved seeing the Oceanic 6 flash-forwards and events unfolding on the Island. Lots of fun. It also has The Constant which is one of my all time favourite episodes of TV.
Favourite Character: Desmond - I loved his storyline so much and his relationship with Penny but also his interactions with characters like Sayid, Jack and Charlie.
Quote: Those things had to happen to me. That was my destiny. But you'll understand soon enough that there are consequences to being chosen… because, destiny, John, is a fickle bitch." Ben
Plot Twist: Oh so many but it has to be 'We have to go back!' and realising another boring Jack flashback was in fact a super amazing what the hell flash-forward
The end: I still love it and I feel like I will be defending the show until my dying days. It was the perfect finale for the show and I don't care what others think, it made a lot of sense on an emotional level and really I've always been about the characters rather than the mystery. I'm like that with the majority of shows I watch so as long as I get a emotionally satisfying conclusion to the story of these people I followed on screen for 6 years then I'm happy and we did with Lost. I thought it was absolutely beautiful.
Favorite Season: 1 -- I was being drawn in and the character work was awesome
ReplyDeleteFavorite Character: Hurley - I just loved his attitude. He was optimistic and upbeat.
Favorite Quote: Hurley: "I can make it. I'm spry." AND HE MADE IT!
Favorite Twist: Don't remember a lot of them...but I decided to go with "We've got to go back."
How did I feel about the end: I liked it. I liked the idea that everyone had lived their lived then met for a reunion before they went on to their final resting place.
Least favorite thing: Just had to add. Jin and Sun dying together. The fact that Sun didn't even mention their daughter just felt wrong.
Jin and Sun's death clanged in my skull. The fact that Sun didn't even mention that Jin should save himself so he could be there for his daughter kicked me right out of that moment.
ReplyDeleteJohn Locke was my mother's favorite character.
I completely agree with you on the ending! I've had so many conversations with people trying to explain that the ending wasn't what they thought it was! Only watched the finale a few weeks ago and cried buckets again
ReplyDeleteI still love Lost....so happy to be talking about it again. :-)
ReplyDeleteFavorite season: Season 2. Because of the introduction of Ben and Desmond. But I looove season 1 aswell.
Favorite character: Ben Linus, because he was so hard to figure out. John Locke is right behind him.
Favorite twist: When they found Desmond under the Hatch.
The End. Didn´t like it. I wanted it to be different, bigger somehow.
Favorite Season: 1,4&6.
ReplyDeleteFavorite Character: John Locke, Jack Shepard & MiB.
Favorite Quote: Desmond - I'll see you in another life, brother.
Favorite Plot Twist: Meeting at the church. Season 6.
How do you feel about THE END?: Great!!!
Oh, yes, I love that quote! I can still hear the accent. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou say that it was "about the characters rather than the mystery" as if they didn't answer any of the questions on the show, but they answered a lot of them.
ReplyDeleteDamn, this was harder than i thought it would be, so many great things about this show
ReplyDeleteLOST <3
ReplyDeleteLoved season 3&4 the most.
Favorite character was hard to pick, but had to go with Jack. Ben, Sawyer, Charlie, Jin, Hurley, Kate follow close behind. :P
"We have to go back Kate, we have to go back!" .. Damn those flash forwards. Such a great twist.
I love the quotes from LOST.
ReplyDeleteI picked these two...
"Whatever happened.....happened."- Faraday
"It doesn't matter who we were, it only matters who we are." -Juliet
1. Favorite Season: 4 & 5. Cause Flashforwards & Timejumps rock.
ReplyDelete2. Favorite Character: Ben. Cause he's such a wonderful liar.
3. Favorite Quote: "If you had any idea what this place really was... you wouldn't be putting chicken in your refrigerator!" ~ Locke.
4. Favorite Twist: The Ajira Crate having John Locke's body. (Tied with the Flashforward Flashback)
5. Thoughts on the End: I loved the on-island stuff very much. Sideways in the finale were a bit too on the nose, but that's okay. Not everything has to be complicated. It certainly didn't make me regret sitting through six seasons.
She may not have mentioned her daughter but I'm sure she did tell him to "GO!". Idk. It was still a great scene.
ReplyDeleteFavourite quote: "Well, I just didn't have time to talk you back into hanging yourself." (Ben)
ReplyDeleteLost will always be my favorite show. I miss it so much!
ReplyDeleteOnly the beginning of the series should be memorable, imo. Then it started going down a path where it felt like just any other show.
ReplyDeleteIt's 10 years already?! Wow, I might've joined in late but I'm proud to be a LOSTie.
ReplyDeleteI just watched the episode 'The Constant' again a couple of days ago because I was reading something which made me remembered it. One of the best episodes of Television I have ever seen. And Lost is filled with such gems. Unfortunately, they could tie it all together in the end. :(
ReplyDeleteHmm yeah I had forgotten about this one. Almost all episodes featuring Desmond are good. The Constant is still my favorite. It's a great (sort of) standalone episode. It's a great science fiction story. It does everything you hope a good sci-fi story does. To this day when people ask me is it worth watching Lost, I tell them to watch The Constant.
ReplyDeleteTrue, even Catch 22's good, despite being Des's worst.
ReplyDeleteBut I totally understand the love for The Constant. Great sci-fi with a touching love story. It's been discussed before, but had I seen the phone call scene on paper, I probably would have said it'd be too corny and wouldn't work. And I'd be way wrong.
Off topic of Desmond, but what did you think of Expose (Nikki/Paulo episode)? I watched it today and I stand by my love for it. It doesn't forward the plot at all, but it's a really fun self-contained mystery story. And that ending...
ReplyDeleteI caught up to the show late. By the time I watched that episode, I was either binge watching it or watching an episode a day. So I didn't really feel like I was missing important storylines for this. It was only later I found out that fans did not like it. I thought it addressed the whole "what are the other survivors upto?" question in a nice way. Yeah sure, it was a good standalone story. But the buried alive ending seemed a little off. I can't quite articulate exactly what about it was off but it didn't fit into the Lost sense of storytelling for me somehow. But yeah, I liked that episode. It's those kinds of experiments that made the show so good.
ReplyDeleteThere was another episode I was thinking of... Remember that episode when Sawyer and gang are passing through different times with no control over it, and they end up in a time and they are all wondering when it is, and someone says it's probably way back in the past, and the camera pulls out to show us that the full statue before it was destroyed... and I just went nuts when I saw that. I'll never forget that moment. Almost nothing matches that level of excitement and awe on screen. :)
ReplyDeleteAll this reminiscing makes me want to rewatch the show! :D
That's what I liked about that ending. It didn't feel right, even in the context of that episode. Like I said, it was more of a "fun" episode. I didn't take Nikki and Paulo's bickering very seriously, and the rest of the episode was a walk through memory lane (Arzt, Boone, Shannon, the crash site...). Then when Nikki's eyes opened and Giacchino's off-putting music sounded, it gave me chills.
ReplyDeleteYes, LaFleur!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite statue moment was finding out Jacob lived there. "What lies in the shadow of the statue?"
I'll be re-watching my favorites on the 22nd starting with "Through the Looking Glass."
