Benson's getting a new boss! Peter Gallagher has landed a recurring role on Law & Order: SVU's upcoming 16th season.
The O.C. alum and Covert Affairs star will play Deputy Chief William Dodds, the charismatic but tough boss of every special victims unit in New York City.

    I like this actor, I think it's a good fit for the character they're describing. I just hope they don't have plans to link him with Liv on any other level than professional.
    Should also be interesting to see how Rollins approach him seeing how she had trouble with her former deputy chief in Atlanta.
