The time jump between the Season 5 finale and the Season 6 premiere is only 6 months.
Rachel (Lea Michele) AND Kurt (Chris Colfer) are leading New Directions. Kurt is earning NYADA credit for his efforts. So, yes, he’s still a student.
Blaine (Darren Criss) is leading The Warblers at Dalton. I don’t know the circumstances that bring him to Dalton, or whether he is still a NYADA student or not.
I don’t know why Rachel is in Ohio either. UPDATED: FOX has confirmed that Rachel returns to Ohio after her Hollywood dreams are dashed.
Will Schuester (Matt Morrison) is heading up Vocal Adrenaline
Karofsky (Max Adler) will be Blaine’s new love interest. Max is locked in for at least half a season’s worth of episodes. I am not clear on whether Blaine and Kurt are together or apart when season 6 begins, or whether they break up later. I also don’t know whether Blaine/Karofsky are together in the first episode, or something develops later. I am working to find out answers to these questions.
There are no definite plans to use the Season 4/5 newbies. HOWEVER they will most likely come back near the end of the season for one or two episodes. I am guessing there will be a big reunion of Glee alumni at series finale time.
The five new McKinley High kids will be incorporated into the first two episodes to some degree, but their story lines are still being developed.
I don’t have plot specifics at this time on other characters–Santana (Naya Rivera), Artie (Kevin McHale), Sam (Chord Overstreet) etc. The minute I know something, I’ll post it here.

The time frame is fall. As I mentioned in my last spoiler post, there is a 6 month-ish time jump between season 5 and season 6.
Rachel, Blaine, Kurt, Sam, Figgins, Will, Sue, Karofsky, and some others I’ll mention in a bit, ARE in this episode.
Artie, Mercedes, Santana are NOT in the episode.
Rachel’s pilot goes to series, but it bombs. The show is quickly cancelled. The fallout renders her Hollywood career dead in the water. Having burned her bridges on Broadway she has nowhere to go. She ends up moving back home.
Rachel finds out that her dads are divorcing. Hiram has moved out. Leroy, who is in the episode, is the dad left at home.
Rachel , still dismayed that Principal Sue disbanded the Glee club, goes above her head to the Lima school superintendent. She convinces him to revive the McKinley glee club by offering to fund it with her remaining TV money. He insists she be the director.
Blaine and Kurt are already broken up when the episode begins.
Backstory: After Blaine moved back into the loft, the couple continued to argue. Kurt decided they were too young to be engaged and broke it off. Upset after the breakup, Blaine allowed his grades to slip and was cut from NYADA.
In the episode, Blaine has already moved back in with his parents to regroup, and has taken a job at Dalton as the director of The Warblers.
After months apart, Kurt changes his mind about Blaine and heads back to Lima to try and get him back. But too late because…
Blaine and Karofsky are a couple. They are dating. They even have pet names for each other. Yogi Bear and Boo Boo. And yes, I did throw up in my mouth a little when I heard that.
Karofsky is a college student and totally out as a gay man.
Blaine tells Kurt he’s dating Karofsky.
After Kurt arrives in Lima, Rachel convinces him to run Glee club with her. He remains a NYADA student, taking the job as an intern.
Figgins is a part-time barista at the Lima Bean
Sam works for Coach Beiste. He is an assistant football coach at McKinley
Artie is still in film school. Mercedes is still on tour with Santana and Brittany.
New kids, Roderick, the nerd, and Spencer, the cocky gay football player, appear in the episode.
Will is the director of Vocal Adrenaline.
We’ll get to see Rachel’s pilot. It’s called “That’s So Rachel”
No Glee club tryouts yet.

I hope the producers finish with good note this last season, the final half of season 5 was awful, but with Ryan Murphy writing this premiere could be a good thing and I hope he put the show back on the track before the end.
ReplyDeleteYogi Bear...
ReplyDeleteBoo Boo...
Well theirs a childhood TV show purged from memory. Karofsky could do so much better.
And lol, nobody is safe from RIB. Not even Rachel's dads.
Just because Rachel's hollywood dreams are dashed shouldn't she be in NYADA still? Could she be a college drop out? Only a 6 month time jump? Kurt receiving college credit, meaning he doing an internship same goes for Rachel. If the Blaine grades and slipping and being cut from NYADA are true i'll accept that. But even if Kurt is doing an internship shouldn't he still be in NY for school. The only way i could be this being an internship if it's in the summer or during winter break. Or if Kurt has so much money to be making round trips to NYC-Lima and back for school ( doesn't make sense.)
ReplyDeleteAs for the Blaine & Karofsky being in a relationship i just don't see that, i think they are just doing that because they ran out ideas. As for the 5 new glee members, that's just a waste of new characters and should be using those 5 new glee members storylines on the original cast and the new original cast. Im sorry but im not going to care about this 5 new members, it's the final season.
So has Artie been demoted from the main cast as well? I know Santana and Tina were, but I hadn't yet heard anything about Artie.
ReplyDeleteFiggins as a barista could provide a few good moments of comic relief.
I'm kind of iffy about all of these storylines. They're pretty much what we were all expecting, but they're still not all that enticing. I'm sure I'll be (regrettably) watching when the time comes, so I don't know what that says about me.
if it's only 6 months, why new kids, the other are not graduated yet. The show will end how it should have ended in the first place with them winning nationals a last time.
ReplyDeleteI dont gey why Rachel leaves, she wanted to be in broadway so bad and NYADA was her dream since day one, now she has to come back?, that's absurd.
Rachel left NYADA for Broadway, commenting that she didn't need NYADA since she was already on Broadway. And Rachel got bored with it after 3 weeks.. Oh how the mighty has fallen..
ReplyDeletethanks, so basically she went to new york for nothing. waste of time seems like it.
ReplyDeleteShe let the fame get to her head. She reached the impossible goal of getting to Broadway in such a short time. That made her feel being invincible. But we saw from that terrible audition that it was gonna blow up big time..
ReplyDeleteBlaine and Karofsky are a couple. They are dating. They even have pet names for each other. Yogi Bear and Boo Boo. And yes, I did throw up in my mouth a little when I heard that.
ReplyDeleteYogi Bear and Boo Boo. Mmkay.
Yeeeeeeeeeah, I'm just going to back away from the internet very, very, very slowly when the whole Blaine/Karofsky/Kurt thing goes down. They're really going through with that storyline, eh? Hm.
The news about Rachel's dads makes me sad. As does Figgins being a barista (not that there's anything wrong with that job in and of itself, I just feel like Figgins should get more moments as a character in general).
And finally, interesting song list. Love "Uninvited", I can hear Rachel nailing that one nicely.
She could have still continued with school
ReplyDeleteBlaine and Karofsky?!?!?!?! ohhhh myyyyyy godddddd. They're so many things wrong with what i just read, but that one takes the cake. Omg, no just no. I threw up with that sentence alone let alone those pet names. Oh wow. Did not see that happening. Oh god. No no no no no no.
ReplyDeleteNot really. Because Funny Girl took so much of her time she was warned by the people at NYADA that she was going to flunk out if she didn't attend school more, she chose to quit school and focus on Funny Girl instead. Then she got tired of the "eight shows a week"-concept and jumped on the opportunity to get a TV-show instead, so she's not welcome back at NYADA because she quit, and she's ruined her Broadway-reputation because she quit Funny Girl. Like the other poster said, she thought she was invincible and would succeed in anything she took on, now she has to learn the hard way that life doesn't work that way.
ReplyDelete"if it's only 6 months, why new kids, the other are not graduated yet. "
ReplyDeleteIn reality, the actors playing the new kids have (most of them anyway) moved on to other projects, and can't or won't commit to Glee for the entire half-season. In the show they'll probably just explain it with some throwaway-line that they moved to other schools/cities, or considers glee-club a finished chapter.
All I got from reading all that was "what".
ReplyDeleteBut here's what I'm most concerned about:
"Figgins is a part-time barista at the Lima Bean"
I'm so bummed with the unceremonious way Tina's character was let go of the show. She was one of the original members of the Glee Club, she deserved much better.
ReplyDeleteI like how Rachel fall. Even I love Rachel, I agreed to put some reality in the show... NYADA! Broadway! Hollywood! Please... even for Glee is too much.
ReplyDeleteTina wanted to be a veterinary student, which means that you can't eat from arts...
