Kristen Nairn (Hodor) has just confirmed via Yahoo Australia that Bran, Hodor, and the rest of their gang aren't appearing in the fifth season of GOT at all.
Fans around the world are hungry for the next series of Game of Thrones, but they will have to be patient*.*
"We have a season off and we have a year's hiatus, solely because I imagine our storyline is up to the end of the books," he said.
"So, I get my year off now to do Rave of Thrones and gallivant all over the world."

Hodooooor, hodoooooor!!!! HODOR!!!
ReplyDeleteHODOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!!!!!!! :(
Shame, their story just got interesting.
ReplyDeleteBran is not in season 5? YES YES YES awesome :D
ReplyDeleteI don't think that there is too much more to their story as written in the books, but there must be more that's not been written yet.
ReplyDeleteOh and he is Kristian, not Kristen!
ReplyDeleteNo Hodor..... :(
ReplyDeleteOh god...Does this confirm they WILL be holding back the show to wait for new books?
ReplyDeletePrepare for filler. Lots of filler.
I came here to say the same thing haha.
ReplyDeleteThey did nothing in season 4 until like the last 2 episodes , so I wont really miss them.
ReplyDeleteDidnt see that one coming but I'm not complaining, they are so boring, I've never understood the point of their story.
ReplyDeleteI wish they could do the same thing with Theon. God how awful is that storyline.
I dont like this! c'mon. Their story was kind of interesting at the end.
ReplyDeleteOh-oh. Waiting on Martin to work would not be as bad if he did not seem to take such pleasure in making everyone wait- he is almost gleeful at how frustrated we all are.
ReplyDeleteI'm cool with this. Enjoy the year off.
ReplyDeleteNo big surprise really.
ReplyDeleteWith Season 5 mstly being 3-Eyed Crow training Bran and flashbacks, Bran will not be in need of his Hodor-legs for a while.... maybe for a very long while if not ever according to some theories.
Hodor-paste?
Would D&D do it? Ack!
Not at all.
ReplyDeleteI think we will get new material from TWOW in some arcs for sure (Arya, Sansa etc), maybe even in Bran's. He just will not need to be carried round at all since much of the season Bran will b e inside his head or others. XD
Good. Bran and his storyline BORE me.
ReplyDeleteAwww I was hoping for Bran visions/history flashbacks, but now I'm wondering if some of that will be passed onto Maggie the Frog considering other potential spoilers out there??????
ReplyDeleteUnlike some I actually like the Bran storyline but I'm happy that the show feels it can put aside storylines and pick them up later. It seems pretty clear to me Bran is very important in the end game of the book/story so when he does come back it should be pretty great.
ReplyDeleteNodor?
ReplyDeleteI want Lady Stoneheart for season 5 and Arya's journey with the House of B&W.
ReplyDeleteI don't get the love for Lady Stoneheart in thr ASOIAF fandom. She shows up out of nowhere, kills a bunch of nobodies, and disappears again.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, their decision to omit her seems to confirm the fact that nothing she does has any consequence on the story at large.
I agree.
ReplyDeleteI've been saying for a couple seasons I thought LS could easily be cut without losing anything in the overall narrative. If they need the "Noose or Sword" scene they can have Beric or Thoros do it.
True but she does have some minor scene with Brienne in the book but I am not sure where her character will lead. Her importance to the show will depend on what happens in Winds Of Winter.
ReplyDeleteHmm, thought so. I haven't started book 5, but I am told there isn't much story left in the book for Bran.
ReplyDeleteso the actor/bran is gonna be a full teenager by the time they start making another season, and he is gonna show up in the story and be like no time has passed since we last saw him?
ReplyDeleteI can live with them not being in the season, didn't really care for that storyline anyway. Don't particularly hate it either though, just not not fav. One thing is for sure is when they do come back it'll be a bit of a shock to see a year older Bran. I swear in every season it looks like he aged 2 years for every one year.
ReplyDeleteTrust me, this is the absolute right move, from a storyline POV. I'm truly happy D&D decided to put Bran aside for the time being. My guess is GRRM had something to do with this decision.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if the jolly giant was having some fun with the press or we are misinterpreting his comments... Maybe he was using the "royal we" and was not speaking for Isaac/ Bran and the others?
ReplyDeleteAlso, I thought I had read somewhere that Octavia Alexandru (Leaf) would be back in Season 5. I cannot imagine her returning without at least Bran. I can see them not using Hodor or Meera as much (if at all), but I still expect Bran, Leaf and the 3-Eyed Crow to be in Season 5.
This will be a fun season then LOL.
ReplyDeleteI don't care about their story but that's a shame. Now everyone including me will forget about them tbh.
