I can't believe they'll really premiere Cyber at Sundays 10pm after the good wife... What the hell are they thinking? I don't understand why even bother picking it up if that's the case.
It has a bad timeslot for sure, but I'm wondering what CBS' expectations are for this. They can't expect it to do any better than CSI or The Mentalist, right? In my ratings predictions for Sunday (which I only did a few days ago) I had CSI at a 1.3 average. Cyber won't do much better than that. Regardless of CBS' expectations, I still think Cyber will be canceled while CSI gets a renewal, likely for a final season.
They could of aired all 22 episodes by airing the episodes when the shows were on a week hiatus. They did with NCIS:LA last yr aired a new episode when NCIS and POI were repeats and vice versa.
A TV season has 34 to 36 weeks. That also includes winter and spring hiatus. If they ordered 22 episode, then they would have to air 35 episodes of CSi+Cyber in that time and airing episodes during the holidays would mean low ratings. So instead the ordered less episode of CSI.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
well, well. I'm setting up the gravestone

ReplyDeleteUnless this is a tentative scheduling, I agree.
ReplyDeleteBut it doesn't seem like one, considering that Mentalist, Battle Creek and Undercover Boss are all options for midseason.
Plus 22 episodes of Mike and Molly and 13 episodes of The Odd Couple. And a possible second cycle of TAR.
ReplyDeleteMakes sense as it has to make room for Cyber.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's pretty much the time-slot where they generally move shows to die.

ReplyDeleteI don't know why I feel that TAAHM's final season is 13 episodes.
ReplyDeleteAnd I hope TAR gets two cycles. I love that show.
I haven't heard anything about TAAHM's episode order but that would make sense since it would even out the comedy orders
ReplyDeleteUm they announced that Cyber will premiere after CSI when it ends. This was announced when they unveiled there Fall Schedule.
ReplyDeleteWhich is exactly what Daniel meant. 20 episode so CSI ends earlier to make room for Cyber's 13 episodes.
