TVLine has learned exclusively that Brian Van Holt — who has played Bobby “Penny Can” Cobb since the show’s launch on ABC in 2009 — will depart at the start of the TBS comedy’s sixth and final season.

Oh no!! I knew he was doing lots of other shows but Bobby is one of my favourites and I hoped he would last for the entire final season. I can only hope Bobby gets a happy ending and some good fortune as he departs.

ReplyDeletedisappointed as this is the final season ...boo..gonna miss ole Penny Can Bobby Cobb... I do hope that he does get a good send off, and this will allow for the writers to really dial things in for a great final run (like one more Abed appearance maybe? lol) as some of the eps last season were lacking and I was on the fence to watch this upcoming season before finding out this is the swan song....

ReplyDeleteI'm quite torn about this news. He had his funny moments but than he had episodes and arcs were he was anything but useful. I hope he gets a funny departure.
ReplyDeleteI'm so disappointed. I just can't imagine this final season without the whole cast. And Bobby Cobb was one of the most hilarious characters on Cougar Town. It's like Troy leaving Community again! :(
