That is so AWESOME! That is great news!
ReplyDeleteThis Is Great News Now All I Will Be Thinking About Is Who Will They Cast As Kara Kent.
ReplyDeleteWow, if this gets picked up (which will most likely happen) all the major networks will have either a DC or Marvel comic book show. Pretty damn cool I must say.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty much a guaranteed series order.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is the 1990's version of The Flash.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing. Maybe a unknown actress would be better?
ReplyDeleteI vote for Jessica Simpson as SuperGirl....Lol, I'm joking everyone....I would vote for Anna Torv though.
ReplyDeleteGuess CBS didn't want to be the only network not in the CBTV genre
ReplyDeleteCW: Arrow and Flash (and possibly more in the future)
ABC: Agents of Shield & Agent Carter
FOX: Gotham
NBC Constantine
CBS: Supergirl
I don't watch a single show on CBS, I'd have to hear killer things about the show for me to start now.
ReplyDeleteI would vote for Justine Lupe as Supergirl!
ReplyDeleteYes I was hoping CBS pick this show up it's was the only network that didn't have DCComics series
ReplyDeleteNow for the lead: Sarah Michelle Gellar Jessy Schram Blake Lively Beverly Mitchell Sarah Carter Maggie Grace I would love to see play Supergirl
Amber Heard= Supergirl !!!!
ReplyDeleteCBS doing a DC show?
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty surprising, considering the idea floating about that CBS never cared about DC properties thus which is why The CW got Arrow and now The Flash. Still, a CBS DC series could be pretty fantastic. It won't be as "angsty" as a CW series, that's for sure, which is obviously one of the pros for Gotham and Constantine.
I was never interested in comic books until recently (still not, actually) but I am loving all these shows about them. This should be great! Can't wait to find out who they cast.
ReplyDeleteWow! I just hope this won't end like the Charmed reboot! Ask Ausiello stated it's been canceled!
ReplyDeleteI really hope they do it right!
If you don't think Supergirl is going to be angsty think again.
ReplyDeleteOmg has the Charmed reboot been cancelled?! I was so looking forward to that...
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised that CBS is ordering it.
ReplyDeleteI lost all interest in this when I heard Greg Berlanti was involved tbh
ReplyDeleteApparently yes, a couple of weeks ago TvLine stated it's over.
ReplyDeleteLast network i expected this show to be on! Nevertheless,i can't wait to see who lands the coveted role?
ReplyDeleteVery surprising move from CBS.
ReplyDeleteWow thats really disappointing :/
ReplyDeleteWHEEEEH!!
ReplyDeleteSince Warner Bros and CBS work so closely together I'm hoping there is a chance that deal can be made to allow Claire Holt to star as Kara Zor - El aka Supergirl.
ReplyDeleteYep. As a hc charmed fan I was looking forward to the show getting a reboot but seems like it wasn't in the stars. I expect one to happen in a couple of years.
ReplyDeleteShe suppose to be 24 years old here some other actress I would love to see play supergirl: Mackenzie Rosman Kay Panabaker Danielle Panabaker Bridgit Mendler Megan Park Jennette McCurdy
ReplyDeleteGuess CBS felt left since all other networks have Marvel/DC dramas going on.
ReplyDeleteLaura Vandervoort
ReplyDeleteGeorgina Haig
Georgina...
ReplyDeleteFeels like the wrong network, but that might be because i don't watch anything on said network for starters.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see Laura Vandervoort reprise her role as Supergirl. She did quiet a good job on Smallville few years ago!
ReplyDeleteDanielle Panabaker is staring in The Flash so it won't be her.
ReplyDeleteI voted for Claire Holt !
ReplyDeleteHmmm... Hopefully an actress I do not like since I expect this to get cancelled! XD
ReplyDeleteAnnaSophia Robb or Dianna Agron. I LOVE the idea of having a tv show about a female superhero.
ReplyDeleteLola Ciccone.
ReplyDeleteAmber Heard would be so awesome though...
ReplyDeleteFrom this list:
ReplyDeleteLaura Vandervoort
Alexandra Daddario
Claire Holt
Dianna Agron
Molly Quinn
Hayden Panettiere
So CBS has finally thrown it's hat into the superhero genre?
ReplyDeleteOther - Skyler Samuels.
ReplyDeleteShame it can't be tied to Arrow and The Flash even though they're not on the same network - creating a cohesive DC universe on TV (even if it's different to the movie DC universe) would help compete with Marvels shows on movie & TV.
ReplyDeleteLaura did it well on Smallville IMO and could do it even better with her as the star but her commitment to Bitten might interfere and she's really good in that too.
Dianna Agron would be my second choice and third, I can picture an actress I saw in something not long ago who I thought would be awesome but I can't remember what it was or what her name was... I'll have to see if I can remember and add another comment if I do.
I'd like Lyndsey Fonseca or if they're going younger, McKaley Miller. I also like Amber Heard.None of the other choices appeal to me at all.
ReplyDeleteRachel Skarsten
ReplyDelete"It won't be as "angsty" as a CW series"
ReplyDeleteNever said it won't be angsty.
Oh forgot she staring on The Flash
ReplyDeleteI would love to See Becca Tobin!!! She would make a kickass superhero ! <3
ReplyDeleteClaire Holt would be perfect but she has another show NBC :(
ReplyDeletePOI?Elementary?U like family?=BlueBloods,U like 1 character=TheMentalist> Ur missing some goods.
ReplyDeleteI kind of don't want this. But if it comes out I'll watch it.
ReplyDeleteI'm stunned! Really. I thought to myself "It would be a dream if this was a CBS show" I'm so happy, I don't even know what to do.
ReplyDeleteI voted for Laura Vandervoot, she did a great job on Smallville, however a young lesser know Super Girl, probably would be a better idea, whoever they cast this should be fun, CBS is finally getting in on the comic book train:)
ReplyDeleteExtant, UtD and Big Brother for me, although I didnt watch anything on CBS last year or the year before that except the Elementary pilot. I've always felt they are the most boring network out there but it's nice to see them taking risks. Although Supergirl? Blah and blah.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind Amber Heard or an unknown actress. DC usually does well with picking good low key actors to lead their shows.
ReplyDeleteI forgot CBS was airing Moonlight before the vampire craze, and Jericho before all these other end of the world shows came on.
ReplyDeleteOnly for the first 13 episodes.
ReplyDeletei dont know but ...hemooooooooooooooooo <3
ReplyDeleteheather morris is the tallest one ...just stop ;;; :p :p :p :p
ReplyDeletedon't get me wrong, but it seems like the shops in our streets. There are a few which changes their profiles in every two-three years. I call them the unimaginative ones. They are because their owners has no concept, just trying to follow the actual trend - and because the lack of originality or added value, they are flushed down in a few years. If a bakery opens in one of them, one can be sore that in no time tehere will be bakeries in the other ones as well. If there is a real estate agent, there going to be five in half a year.
ReplyDeleteI can't predict how successful it can be - comics here have a much smaller cult and cultural establishment than in the USA. But to me it seems a very despearte effort to climb on the already full bandwagon.
Georgina Haigg or Lyndsey Fonesca would be perfect! They botg had badass roles in Fringe & Nikita, plus they act reslly well. I'd love to see either as Super Girl!
ReplyDeleteSurprised the show goes to CBS, now every network has a super hero show
Beauty and the Beast - 1987
ReplyDeleteGhost Whisperer - 2005
The Incredible Hulk - 1978
Moonlight - 2007
The Amazing Spider Man - 1977
Wolf Lake - 2001
Wonder Woman - 1977
if I had to pick from the list, I'd go with maybe Diana Agron, although Heather Morrison might be interesting, I think I'd prefer an unknown actress over most of those choices, but it also depends on whether Supergirl is supposed to be high school teenager or an adult in the series (I'm hoping for the latter). Of all the possible female comic heroes, Supergirl would not have been my choice; it just has the potential to be very cheesy, but maybe in the hands of CBS, I think there's hope. Other possible choices not on the list: Jane Levy, Imogen Poots, Analeigh Tipton, Margarita Levieva (who played Emanda on Revenge), Alexa Vega, or Manda Crew. I'd say a big "no" to Laura Vanderwoort and Britt Robertson
ReplyDeletewhere is Naya Rivera she is the best for such a role or it has to be a blonde ?
ReplyDeleteNah, don't watch any of those shows. I tried a few episodes of PoI, but it wasn't for me, saw 1 season of BB and The Mentalist before giving them up, haven't seen Elementary. I don't like procedurals, so 90% of CBS shows are not for my taste.
ReplyDeleteI don't like procedurals, which is 90% of what CBS produces. I used to watch Criminal Minds, CSI, NCIS, etc before I got tired of them. I need character driven dramas, something with a mythos or season long storyline. I don't mind shows like Justified that can do both, but it needs to be character driven.
ReplyDeleteIt has to be the one who played her before and that was Laura Vandervoort on Smallville.
ReplyDeleteQuestion is will Constantine and Gotham stick around?
ReplyDeleteOk, Idk who some of these women are, and right now I don't feel like looking up their faces. But I will say....NOOO to Hayden, Dianna, Laura (she did her time), Claire, and Candice. And I would loveee for Helen Slater to make a cameo appearance. That is all.
ReplyDeleteWell, Person of Interest is basically Batman plus Terminator.
ReplyDeleteNot really. Even then it's not a superhero show, it's a sci-fi/action drama/spy procedural with serialized elements.
ReplyDeleteHeather Morris and Diana Agron winning the poll? WTH is that?
ReplyDeleteI wondering that since CBS and CW are connect; that this might end up with an eventual crossover, with some or all of the CW DC series?
ReplyDeleteWhy does it have to be someone who played her before? Supergirl is not Smallville or a spin-off. I would love to see another actress take on this role and be successful.
ReplyDeleteI like both of these choices and I voted for Lyndsey.
ReplyDeleteof course laura vandervoort but i know it's not a spin-off
ReplyDeleteThat's true. She probably doesn't have time due to her commitment to Bitten.
ReplyDeleteHas to be someone new and someone who we never met lol
great actress but IMO to old for Supergirl as she is a teen/young adult.
ReplyDeletePerson of Interest is like 90% serialized now.
ReplyDeleteI loved Jericho. Had the nice realistic feel to it.
ReplyDeleteThat could be a description of Arrow for the most part.
ReplyDeleteIt wil flop like 2011 pilot or Bionic Woman from 2007. Forever shame on their actresses resume
ReplyDeleteOkay, still doesn't make it a superhero show.
ReplyDeleteI know, I messed up a little.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Michelle ( Dawn Summers - Buffy ) Trachtenberg ?
ReplyDeleteOh.Thanks.I believe then she can do this :)
ReplyDeleteAnnasophia or Molly Quinn. Daddario would have made a good Wonder Woman for that Amazon show awhile back.
ReplyDeleteHeather Morris!!!! She would be perfect for this role. I'm so sure about it.
ReplyDeleteI think Katheryn Winnick would be my top choice.
ReplyDeleteIMO I Think Gotham Will Stick Around Because Of The Amount Of Advertising FOX Does For The Show.
ReplyDeleteI know they are saying that Supergirl will be 24 years old but would you be okay with Kara being in her mid thirties and played by say Sarah Michelle Gellar or does she have to be 24 ?
ReplyDeleteI agree and NBC hasn't really be advertising all we learned were casting changes lol.
ReplyDeleteThis show will ultimately flop.
ReplyDeleteCBS? Huh, unfortunately I think this'll flop. Doesn't seem like it'd fit in with the main CBS audience.
ReplyDeleteHopefully CBS decides to pull rank and put it on the CW so it can better fit the audience. It'd also help them get a greater presence on the network since WB has been carrying them for years now.
Skyler Samuels
ReplyDeleteI'd rather an unknown actress.
ReplyDeleteI can't think of two worst choices for the role.
ReplyDeleteCBS ordered a superhero show, now we know the trend is not cool anymore.
ReplyDeleteHEATHER MORRIS IS THE BEST!
ReplyDeleteWhen filming for the pilot starts, a poll for which show this might crossover with would be fun...
ReplyDeleteLaura Vandervoort.
ReplyDeleteI want to see Laura Vandervoort get the role , however as she is on Bitten they would have to work around that.
ReplyDeleteDianna Agron , a perfect actress, would be a perfect supergirl <3
ReplyDeleteLooking at the poll currently, a lot of Glee fans have voted here ;-)
ReplyDeleteFor me personally, I would like Laura Vandervoort. She deserves a big breakthrough.
HEATHER MORRIS!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo CBS wants in on the supes. Let's see what they make of it.
ReplyDeleteVoted for Diana Agron, McKaley Miller but I can totaly see Lindsay Fonesca making the role into her own.
I dropped Criminal Minds, NCIS (and L.A.) and Hawaii Five O, since we finally are getting more and better serialized shows. I was totally stressed out of watching so many shows last year, when I noticed I just watch them out of habit not because I like them so much.
ReplyDeleteyou don't like his work?
ReplyDeletehave not all supernatural shows from the last years on CBS been cancelled early?
ReplyDeleteArrow is not Angsty, well not that angsty.
ReplyDeleteWell DC comics were pretty happy with the job he did with Arrow season . Guess that's why.
ReplyDeleteGotham will, don't know about constantine
ReplyDeleteAWESOME NEWS!!!! Can't wait to see who they cast!
ReplyDeleteVictoria Pratt :)
ReplyDeleteSince we can't have Laura Vandervoort, and I don't just mean because of Bitten, I absolutely LOVED her as Kara but I think/fear she may be too old for the part (not to mention I don't think they'd want it tied to SV-verse) anyway, if we can't have Laura I hope it's someone that isn't very well known/former star of a very popular or well known series/movie. Not sure how to explain this but I don't want an actress to overshadow the character. So I guess "other" it is.. well "Other" and Laura lol because I got to ;)
ReplyDeleteSupergirl show over at CBS... I think my jaw dropped when I first heard the news lol
I think I'vr just grown tired of procedurals, because I really get invested in shows and characters, and can't really just casually watch a show. I can't deal with procedural shows, which have been done to death and there's barely any innovation possible on the genre and most of the times if you look at season 1 and season 5, the characters have hardly evolved or grown, which is what I watch for. I can deal with not-so-great storylines or plot holes, as long as I'm invested in the characters. Once I stop, I quit the show.
ReplyDeleteArrow is pretty angsty. Just view any scene featuring Thea.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I mean ... Gleeks I guess, but it's still amazingly blind casting.
ReplyDeleteCBS and super hero show?? I am sad this will not share universes with Arrow and the Flash
ReplyDeleteEmily Bett Rickards should be on the pool
ReplyDeleteDianna Agron would be perfect supergirl
ReplyDeleteAlexia Fast
ReplyDeleteoh damn, dianna agron or heather morris fjhfjghgd my babies are perf ♥♥
ReplyDeleteWTH are you talking about guys? The people has spoken. We demand Heather Morris for Supergirl. Thank you and good nigths.
ReplyDelete
