looks better than the ones the had for 4, 5 and 6 (you know? The weird couple-y ones? They stopped releasing cinematic posters after season 3 and that kind of irked me).
Knowing ABCs tendency to use its first released posters also as DVD cover artworks I`m fine with this being the one for s7. Season 4-6 look akward
I see, but the fact that it's pretty darn visible to amateur photoshoppers (or even people who don't work with it) is a sign for sloppy work, at least to me. I can actually pinpoint the exact episode in moment from which Stana's head was taken
I think the better choice would've been to have Stana is the same position, but have Nathan's body pose in a normal scale facing the camera. The added touch would be to photoshop his body so that is almost has a ghostly, transparent appearance to represent the mystery that Castle has vanished. The head only shot as a backdrop really doesn't work.
If you remember the first two seasons, Castle the series had a grittier look. The show runner at that time was Rene Echevarria. His credits included Dark Angel with Jessica Alba, and that gritty look stayed for the entire run of that show. When Rene left Castle, the look of the show began to change. Becketts wardrobe grew to walmart dementions as well as Beckett's hair. Remember the tiny apartment she had back then, now her place rivals Castle's.
Yes, I remember and indeed, the first two seasons were a different quality. The accumulated momentum had moved the show in the first part of S3, but when they get the early renewal and Marlowe had no breaks on his pompous melodrama (Countdown was started to film after the renewal), the show went down on the "how long can we do nothing" lane.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Giant Castle is actually kind of terrifying. No thank you.
ReplyDeleteGiant Castle-head made me laugh so hard.
ReplyDeleteAnd what's with TVLine adding two watermarks to the same photo, lol.
ReplyDeleteStana looks ethereal!

this just looks weird...
ReplyDelete*sigh* so heavily photoshopped, this isn't even Stana's body with her head
ReplyDeleteyeah... i don't like it
ReplyDeleteFanfiction meets reality! :D
ReplyDeleteI could be wrong but this isn't the same wedding dress Stana was wearing in the season finale..And not fond of this promo pic..
ReplyDeleteA stunning poster, and better yet, is that a new dress?
ReplyDeletewell the body was taken from Revenges season 3 photoshoot.
ReplyDeleteUsually no body on ANY promotional poster belongs to its head. Even if they're from the same photoshoot the head often gets well...cut off
Well I really like it.
ReplyDeleteWhenever ABC is trying to be edgy it fails. Castle looks like some stalker and Beckett is scared. Instead of flowers she should hold glock

ReplyDeleteFans complaining about there still not being any cast photo's in 1..2..3... go!
ReplyDeletethat's with every photo one knows, you know where it's from and suddenly your brain associates it with that exact situation (background, clothing).
ReplyDeleteIt looks pretty well made for that though,
That dress is soooo much better than the first!
ReplyDeleteLoved it! I actually liked giant Castle, maybe it means s7 he´ll be the main focus...

ReplyDeleteMy first thought was that her posture is a mirrored copy of a Kill Bill 2 poster, but checking it on the net it's not so close.
ReplyDeleteI do like the way, you're thinking and to that I'll add it would be about time, sometime I think they forget the show is called Castle!!
ReplyDeleteThis aint the season for good posters as it seems.
ReplyDeleteAs far as ABC posters go, this is a pretty decent one. And I don't even watch Castle.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind this one - sort of par for the course - but I agree, her gun in place of the roses would have been great.
ReplyDeleteLove it, I wonder what happened to him that finale was so weird.
ReplyDelete@Maria Ferreira I hope so! Though I also love the irony that, here again, Castle is... out of focus...
ReplyDeleteSeems unconsciously fitting to what the show has became: copy-paste of old ideas with a little blur
