My theory is that Castle's dad set up the whole thing. He urgently needed Castle's mind/skills for a plan, and he needed people to think Castle was dead for his plan to work.
Good grief! I have to wait almost 2 weeks for the full episode?! At least I have my spankin' new S6 DVDs and Raging Heat to keep me company for a couple of minutes of that time...ugh!
Somewhere along the line the show has completely lost its emotional impact on me. Not because I changed - I can't bear watching Beckett's face at the end of S2 even now, after all these years -, but in this scene I remained competely out, as a spectator. Saw only the overly pretentious tricks (yeah, they needed a soaked Beckett again to express her being broken, something new idea, anybody?), thought about the industry hazards of filming a scene in a billowing dress beside flames, but not for a single moment I felt her pain or was interested in it, even though I love Stana Katic and think her an excellent actress. Seems it's time sadly accepting that it's not my show anymore :(.
Performance is awesome. But I'm not ready to forgive the writers for this one yet. I want to rant and wail that I will never watch the show again but that would be massive fib. It may not make any sense to some but I've lost a bit of trust in these writers.
Really liked that can't wait for the episode. I think it's going to be a great season. Only 2 more week. This is the only show that I am looking forward to this season.☺
Nop, you are not the only one. When the water was falling on Beckett while she has her hand open in front of her, god with the music and the way it was filmed ( The close-up one the water drops like it was a water fall). I admit I had a hard time not to laugh. It was like a soapy commercial.
it would have been better if they had a fake corpse in the car! Im just saying that would have been a better scene if it actually looked like castle was dead for a min.
Watching this SP it's even clearer how bad the original concept of the finale was. Not in the good or bad show level, but on the simpliest bad, untalented writing level, when the used tools were wrong to achieve the goals.
The episode should have been ended either when Beckett received the call and we only see her terrified face, or here when they found ot that nobody was in the car. In both cases the cliffhanger would have been legit - something bad happened with Castle, we can think about the what-how-why, but not suggesting that he is dead, which everybody knew could not happen.
The fact that right the next day Malowe came and resolved the cliffhanger, telling that of course Castle weren't dead is the proof how scr*d up that scene was. What he TOLD AFTER the finale that's what we see now, and that's what should have been SHOWED in the episode. A TV show is not a book, where you can put in an insert page with the errata.
It is what it is. Personally I would have thought the finale would have had more impact if AWM has gone through with the ceremony and all the subsequent festivities, Then when Caskett were calling it a day, RC heads downstair for a bottle of Champagne and disappeared there, leaving a tossed room and KB looking out into the night. It could have saved that episode.
It's true and you are right, but I didn't want to go into the conceptual thing (that they should have opened a whole new page and closing their mating dance period). Regarding the wedding being overcooked - totally agreed.
If the cars aren't the same model - some people pointed to this right after the finale - it's just a blooper, probably this was cheaper to waste.
If we stay with the basic logic (not always a good idea with this show), were it have a meaning Beckett or the boys should have realized that this isn't Castle's car - they are cops, for God's sake, should be able to distinct two different models.
thank you for your answer. I didn't think of it this way and couldn't follow the discussions after the finale. Maybe it's indeed a detail which we will learn about in the premiere, maybe not, like you said
If someone (Daddy) needed people to think Castle is dead, he would have sat a body in that car, because that way a few days gone by till the notice he is not dead, but only kidnapped. I think it is 3XK and he wanted to get revenge on both, not only ruining their wedding day, but also kidnapping him and lure Beckett and maybe the others in a trap to get the ultimativ revenge.
Lol in the last few months from the hundreds of replies ive seen from you only 1% was positive lol why torture yourself with a show you dont seem to like lol O.o?
It's very nice hearing that my opinion have such an impact on you that you count on my comments. (Though you'd need a new calculator, I'm well below 100 comments on the whole site and there are a lot of other shows I'm interested in.) Why do I torture? Masochism? Like frustrating people like Andrew Marlowe? Maybe have a different opinion?
I have an IMHO very easily recognisable avatar - if my opinion bothers you, simply skip my posts. This is as good an advice as yours.
you seriously think im some stalker that goes clicking on people's avatars too check them out? also i ready everyone's reply/opinions good or bad i just notice that yours are 9/10 very negative.
No need of stalking. See my name - skip my comment. This easy. Otherwise it seems from the upvotes that I'm not alone with my opinion, so probably I'm not the onlyy one who watches and criticise the same time. It happens.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
:( The way Beckett is looking for Castle is so earth shattering heartbreaking.
ReplyDeleteOmg, I felt Kate's emotion through out that entire clip, Thanks for that now can Sept 29 come on already!!
ReplyDeletenot really a surprise, but nicely done scene with the pacing and music..
ReplyDeleteExcuse me while I go cry until the premiere :'(

ReplyDeleteso did Castle Jump out of the car before it went over?...or was it another way?...☺...

ReplyDeletetitle of the sneak peak must be "how to ruin a wedding dress" :)
ReplyDeleteLol. Am I the only one who thought this was funny? Like it was so over the top and soapy.

Well we at least see Alexis and Martha was following Kate so she is not alone. The Boys we have seen previously on clips.
ReplyDeleteWow! Loved it! With just one line, Stana knocks it out of the ballpark. And...call me sentimental or a softy, but I thought the music was fantastic!
ReplyDeletearen't the car Richard is seen driving and the one that caught fire different models?

I'm going to be totally girly here and be sad that that beautiful dress is ruined :'(

ReplyDeleteMaybe the return of 3XK?
ReplyDeleteThis wedding thing is now being overcooked.
