A Spartacus fan favorite is coming to The CW’s Arrow as a major supervillian.
Nick Tarabay (Star Trek Into Darkness) has landed a multi-episode role as Digger Harkness (aka Captain Boomerang), EW can exclusively report.
On the page, he has also been associated with the Suicide Squad. On Arrow, Harkness will be a former A.R.G.U.S operative, highly skilled in martial arts and espionage, with a deadly thirst for vengeance against his former employers.
The character will be introduced in the seventh episode of the upcoming third season, and then continue in the eighth episode — which is when spin-off star The Flash crosses over into Starling City.

Another Spartacus alum ^^
ReplyDeleteGlad to see that the producers still let their love for Spartacus and Doctor Who fuel their casting decisions :P
But him being on the Flash crossover makes sense, he's more of a character fit for that show
Ashuuuuuuuuuuuur - (for me) the most hated Spartacus character. Nick Tarabay was awesome in that role.
ReplyDeleteAll these Spartacus alumni always remind me of Andy and I get very sad. :(
Great casting...but what is it with Spartacus actors coming to Arrow? I know it's unlikely, but I wouldn't mind if Liam McIntyre, Peter Mensah, Daniel Feuerriegel and Dustin Clare made an appearance at some point :P
ReplyDeleteStill casting Spartacus actors...cool.
ReplyDeleteI like the actor and the character, look forward to 307/308. I don't think it mentioned it in the article bit I wonder if he'll appear in Flash 108 as well?
Asssshhhuurrrr!!! Godddd I had so many feelings about him. Nick was so amazing on Spartacus! I'm so excited :'D He's gonna be great on Arrow. So when can I expect a reunion with Cynthia & Manu? (Specifically Amanda kicking his ass :p) :)
ReplyDeletePlzzzzzzzzzz all of them at some point. Don't forget Gaius HOTTius Glaber :P
ReplyDeleteOh yes! How could I forget Craig Parker?! He's one of my favorites. And some Todd Lasance wouldn't hurt either :D
ReplyDeleteI was expecting a Cynthia/Manu reunion last season, but who knows...
ReplyDeleteI was gonna comment on is he by any chance related to Jack Harkness lol
ReplyDeleteMalcolm Merlyns long lost nephew :P
ReplyDeleteYupppp, i knew it was for the crossover! Yes!! This is great! Good news. Good news! Oh god, Oct...so far away.
ReplyDeleteso sad that we haven't heard much about Slades future, Manu's not a regular anymore...so they could easily record his voice, put a stunt guy in Deathstroke attire and half ass a Manu cameo :(
ReplyDeletei want slade's return to be a complete surprise for maximum freak out at amanda recruiting him to hunt down ashur in like the last 10 mins of an episode. i checked manu's imdb and he doesn't have anything listed after the hobbit 3 (its already wrapped & coming out in december) so hopefully he could come back.
ReplyDeleteGreat casting. Arrow is on a roll with all these guest stars. Wonderful news.
ReplyDeleteSo it's official: Arrow is a Spartacus reunion, The Flash is a Prison Break reunion. (Perhaps Peter Stormare will cross over from the former to the latter to complete that picture.)
ReplyDeleteNot exactly who I'd pictured for Captain Boomerang, isn't he supposed to be Australian? But I liked him in the one season I saw of Spartacus, funny he's starting off on Arrow before appearing in the crossover, since I think he's more of a Flash villain than an Arrow one.
ReplyDeleteYeah, he's Australian in the comics...he's a pretty cool character, from what little I've read of him in DC52.
ReplyDeleteNick Tarabay plays a bad guy? I'm shocked. :P
ReplyDeleteThat's what I thought. Interesting that they cast a Lebanese for an Aussie role and an Aussie for an Arab (Ra's). The character sounds like he could be cool, I've only seen him briefly in some of the animated DC movies.
ReplyDeleteKinda love the fact that show is just going through the Spartacus cast...
