I don't blame her if Taissa doesn't want to ever come back to AHS. After what Murphy did to her character and her storyline last season it would be a waste of her talent to come back. Also her movie career is taking off. I have incredible low expectations this season after the horrible mess Coven was.
I actually think Evan Peters should be the one with the most complaints about Season 3. He and Sarah Paulson made Season 2 for me (to date, it's still one of the best individual seasons of any show I remember) and both were grossly underused in Season 3, especially Evan Peters, it was almost a joke.
I agree. Evan's character in Coven was a total mess. I'd even add to your list Lily Rabe, her character (Misty Day) was really charming and promising but was unexpectedly poorly used sometimes, especially during the last third of the season.
Hoping here for another Asylum-esque season! Coven was good, but a bit disappointing. They have a very good starting point, so I'll keep my fingers crossed :)
A little disappointed. You may call this just an "extended main characters' video introduction" &, ok, I'm totally in. Besides exhibiting the main cast, this trailer does little more. No teaser dialogues, not a glimpse of even simply characters interaction ... maybe this is an full teaser, but nothing more. Also the music could have been more creepy (I see a loy of you enjoy this vibe ... I don't). Let's see what's next :-)
Yes, you're right . 'Portrait video' maybe is the right description for this kinda footage. But the press release called it clearly as an "extended trailer". An extended trailer, IMHO, is something completely different. So ... let's wait & hope.
The problem was that whatever plan Murphy had for Zoe and Kyle he had to change it during episode 5 or 6 to make things "work on set". I agree that Evan Peters got the short end of the stick and I'm not surprised why he stills says Tate was his favorite character to play.
Murphy said this in a interview for Entertainment Weekly. He said he had one storyline for them but changed it so he could make things "work on set with Emma" because Evan and Emma are a couple in real life. Which I thought was incredible unprofessional but whatever. He never said what he had planned. IMO Murder House is the best season by far. I enjoyed Asylum despite its flaws but Coven was just awful.
Wow I didn't know that. Very unprofessional I agree.
As for the best seasons we have to agree to disagree. To me it was Asylum >>>>>>> Coven and I wouldn't even rank Murder House since I didn't even finish which is something that doesn't happen... at all for me, I really disliked the season because I couldn't make much sense of what was happening and felt stuff was not logical and often disconnected. But to each his own. I really loved Asylum. Coven was just ok.
I started with Coven. I really enjoyed parts of it, but it was really uneven. I watched Murder House after it was done, and loved it. I'm saving Asylum for when Freak Show is done, and when it's on Christmas break.
You didn't like anything about Coven? To me, it was the weakest season but at the same time, it was saved by Angela Basset. And by Kathy Bates as well. I feel like story wise, it was the worst no doubt. But Angela/Kathy/Jessica were so amazing that it saved the season in some way. S1 and S2 were incredible. I would say Asylum was a tiny bit better.
She was definitely one of the highlights for me. And I think she has some variety in her acting. Her character in We're the Millers is awesome, but doesn't remind me of her character in Coven AT ALL.
Have we ever gotten a trailer for AHS that explicitly has clips from the show? I can only recall these artsy ones aside from the brief teasers. Not that it matters as this piques my interest more than a real trailer probably would.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Amazing!!!

Does anyone else get a Carnivale vibe or is it just me?
ReplyDeleteOh My! Love It!
ReplyDeleteAnyone else notice Evan Peters long webbed fingers??
ReplyDeleteI was too busy crying internally, due to the lack of Taissa this season
ReplyDeleteI don't blame her if Taissa doesn't want to ever come back to AHS. After what Murphy did to her character and her storyline last season it would be a waste of her talent to come back. Also her movie career is taking off.

ReplyDelete"Freak Show" is freaking great!
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, which girl was Emma Roberts? I couldn't catch her in the trailer.
Yep, coz he's the Lobster Boy. :D
ReplyDeleteYes,yes! I`m getting crazy too. Oct 8 is coming. Thanks for correct me. :-)
ReplyDeleteI agree. Evan's character in Coven was a total mess. I'd even add to your list Lily Rabe, her character (Misty Day) was really charming and promising but was unexpectedly poorly used sometimes, especially during the last third of the season.
ReplyDeleteHoping here for another Asylum-esque season! Coven was good, but a bit disappointing. They have a very good starting point, so I'll keep my fingers crossed :)
ReplyDeleteI hope she will be there! She was awesome in Coven.
ReplyDeleteOh I agree, I had forgotten about Lily Rabe.
ReplyDeleteA little disappointed.

Let's see what's next :-)
We got every year a video like this. These are the so-called portrait videos. Maybe we got a real promo within 2 weeks. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, you're right .
ReplyDelete'Portrait video' maybe is the right description for this kinda footage.
But the press release called it clearly as an "extended trailer".
An extended trailer, IMHO, is something completely different.
So ... let's wait & hope.
Yes, I agree. She was way better than I expected :)
ReplyDeleteThe title is clearly appropriate !!
ReplyDeleteThe problem was that whatever plan Murphy had for Zoe and Kyle he had to change it during episode 5 or 6 to make things "work on set".
ReplyDeleteI agree that Evan Peters got the short end of the stick and I'm not surprised why he stills says Tate was his favorite character to play.
She was the worst part of Coven. She always plays the same character in every movie/tv show.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean? I don't pay much attention to this kind of stuff so that that escaped me. What has changed and why? I am curious now.
ReplyDeleteI can't speak for Tate much since I couldn't finish season 1, I despised it, but I loved his character in Season 2.
Exactly, at first she looked boring and then everything changed. I started to like her and even wanted her to be Supreme :D
ReplyDeleteMurphy said this in a interview for Entertainment Weekly. He said he had one storyline for them but changed it so he could make things "work on set with Emma" because Evan and Emma are a couple in real life. Which I thought was incredible unprofessional but whatever. He never said what he had planned.

Yes, definitely.

I enjoyed Season 3 but season 2 is the best. I don't get the Taissa love.... i found her wooden in both season1 and 3 and poor acting in both.
ReplyDeleteCarnivale was Amazing ! !
ReplyDeleteHBO failed it's fans on that one !!!!!
Yes - Best Trailer
ReplyDeleteCreepiest - No that goes to the CLOWN !
: 0
Makes Pennywise look like Raggedy Andy -
Nuthin' scarier than a clown !
( cue the nightmares now )
Please. Pennywise would B-slap the piss out of this clown.
ReplyDeleteThis looks really good.
ReplyDeleteAnother though, I just really don't want this to be Jessica Lange's last season. I seriously hope she reconsiders
ReplyDeleteShit on stick ... I gotta watch that again.
ReplyDeleteOctober needs to get here faster!!!!
ReplyDeleteAs creepy as clowns can be Pennywise is like a bad joke. In the movie anyway. (Which I really, really, really REALLY hate, ha)
ReplyDeleteYep even though it's not in the 30s or anything for some reason this trailer immediately brought Carnivale to mind. Not a bad thing. :)
ReplyDeleteI was thinking more along the lines of the book
ReplyDeleteShe was definitely one of the highlights for me. And I think she has some variety in her acting. Her character in We're the Millers is awesome, but doesn't remind me of her character in Coven AT ALL.
ReplyDeleteHave we ever gotten a trailer for AHS that explicitly has clips from the show? I can only recall these artsy ones aside from the brief teasers. Not that it matters as this piques my interest more than a real trailer probably would.
ReplyDeleteOr at least play a supporting role and next season Bates or Basset could be the "headliner" and it would be awesome.
ReplyDeletethis trailer and the asylum one are the best on the show!! oh gosh i can't wait
ReplyDeleteYay! Melanie Martinez!! I love her music. Awesome promo.
