Skye's relationship with Coulson will also be different than it was in Season 1. Bennet teases a "dynamic shift" between the two characters, but Skye remains steadfastly committed to the team. Skye's two top priorities are "to find out more about how to help Coulson rebuild SHIELD, and also her family."
With that being said, Bennet is as in the dark about her character's origins and parentage as audiences are. "This year is really about who Skye is, literally. What is Skye? Who are her parents? Where are they from?" Bennet says. "They don't tell me anything. I really don't know. They know I kind of have a big mouth, and I'm actually glad because in situations like these I would probably just spill it. ... We're very, very much in the dark until it's appropriate."

Okay, the Coulson one is terrifying. A+ job on that one. And thank God the premiere is finally upon us! Definitely been a long summer.
ReplyDeleteI like fandom's theory that Skye's either a Kree or Inhuman (but I'd rather she be Kree). And I hope she has powers but no clue what those could be (although that might be tech-based).
Given the SHIELD deep secret angle which is now really a HYDRA angle, and given the producers willingness to adapt comic book origins to some degree I would guess that Skye is: Jessica Drew".

ReplyDeleteI read a theory that she may have a protection sort of power. Something that forces others around her to protect her. Hence the teams over-fascination with Skye's well being. The city full of people who died during her SHIELD rescue as an infant etc. Sounded interesting, maybe it would turn into something similar to the way under-used LifeGuard from the X-men.

That scares me because I don't want Skye to turn into Elena from The Vampire Diaries and for me to have to hate her. There are already shades of Delena in SkyeWard (read: the whole "I don't care if you're a mass murderer who tried to kill several of my friends and stuff because damn, you're hot and obviously into me").

ReplyDeleteEw, I would hate that myself. I'm glad Skye rejected Ward harshly because that was the right response and she had every right to feel the way she did. When Carter didn't do the same thing on Finding Carter and tried to comfort her boyfriend after he shot her best friend, it was gross and I was horrified.
ReplyDeleteMy biggest fear is that Fitz will continue to be in denial about Wards betrayal. I wont Fitz to be angry about it, if they choose to skip over this scene it will be a shame as I think the actor would hit a home run with it.
ReplyDeleteFitz was the only one who still had faith in Ward last season and I'm hoping that continues, even though he and Jemma do have every right to be angry after everything they've been through/are going through.
ReplyDeleteWard's going to need someone in his corner once they discover the truth about Garrett kidnapping and abusing him, and I just love the thought of it still being Fitz. But Ward shouldn't be forgiven instantly because that wouldn't be realistic - he has to work hard to regain the team's trust and earn their forgiveness.
But either way, season two's going to hurt all around.
