Hopefully he'll become a better person who will redeem himself (but it should take a few seasons and be painful because it being easy is not something I'm here for).
it'll be interesting to see how this will be handled as it seems fairly obvious that they will try to have some kind of redemption arc for him, most likely and I personally kinda prefer the idea of keeping him an adversary, but if they go forward with the arc, it shouldn't happen for a long time due to the sheer amount of crimes and overall mayhem he committed....
These character promos are well put together and sum up the characters nicely. Also: damn, I can't even keep up with the promotion now, they waited til the last week and then BAM! Explosion of AoS promotional material!
I was hoping for more new footage. It looks like they've set it up for Ward to be redeemable. It'll just take time. I was surprised to see the clip where Ward told Skye that there are things about him she wouldn't like. Those Whedons know how to fool you.
Yup, looks like they're definitely doing a Ward redemption arc which I'm okay with. My only advice is that the writers don't rush the storyline and shouldn't happen till at least the end of season 2.
Believably it would take years for Ward to become less of a cold-blooded murderer and discover what else kind of person he can be. I would like for him to escape and become a third kind of force, joining different sides when forced for a time, but mostly looking out for his own skin and being not a very good person. I don't think they will stretch it for years so it will be contrived as hell. Soon they will need to infiltrate the hydra and surprise! only ward will be able to help them, and off we go into redemption...
Guy can't act. He only looks impressive when dressed in all black and decimating his enemies in a physical fight. He doesn't have a wide enough range of emotions to be interesting to watch while in glass cell.
Wrong. The switch from SHIELD!Ward to Hydra!Ward? Was amazing and Brett knocked it out of the park. And he went to Yale Drama School so he knows what he's doing.
Oh man, I am so excited for this particular part of the storyline. I always liked Ward, he was okay (especially with Skye and Fitz), but when he turned to the dark side he became HELLA-interesting! I really want the redemption arc, but I hope they let him continue to be bad for awhile first. It will seem pretty hollow if he wakes up in prison and decides, I was the bad guy but not anymore. His confusion about who he is and what he's capable of is what is going to make this story amazing, IMO. The entire team's dealings with him, hopefully in both good and bad ways, well, yeah.... I'm salivating and living in hope. Love this show a ton. Bring it, Marvel! :)
Ward will be redeemed just like Spike was on Buffy and Angel on Angel but right now I have a strong hatred towards him haha. I really hope the writers don't mess up the arc. *crosses fingers*
You're the one who's wrong, but I get why and that's all right. The guy is psychopath/sociopath and a murderer. There's no way for him to redeem himself, not after everything he's done. And don't try to make him out to be some unwilling puppet. He had full knowledge of his actions, and there were pretty bad. He should've been killed, but I don't really caresif he sticks around and earn his way back to the team. Just saying my opinion.
He was an unwilling puppet (as proved by Brett in his latest interview) because John Garrett kidnapped him and then proceeded to physically and emotionally abuse him for over a decade. A lot of people ignore that for some reason. And yes, he should pay for his actions in jail - the abuse doesn't excuse them - but he also needs therapy so he can become a better person.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Hopefully he'll become a better person who will redeem himself (but it should take a few seasons and be painful because it being easy is not something I'm here for).
ReplyDeletehe will become a hero again and be back to his family Director coulson, the love of his life skye, his friend may and his brother leo and sister jemma
ReplyDeletehis REAL father figure Director coulson
ReplyDeletewhat do you think it will think it will take the team to get ward out prison and back on the team before they can forgive him, necessity or
ReplyDeleteor will he be back WHEN they forgive him
ReplyDeleteThey are obviously going for a redemption arc for him so I hope they handle it well.

ReplyDeleteI still like him.

ReplyDeleteI'm hoping he becomes a Hannibal Leckter-like role. He can get redemption further down the line. Let him be bad for a while :)

ReplyDeleteΞ€here's no going back. Better he had died.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I only really care about Ward and Fitz-Simmons. Hate Skye's storyline >_<
ReplyDeleteHe will become a smelly piece of shit.
ReplyDeleteI soon want to see more of him, but it has to make sense . guess I will have to be patient.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure we'll see him a lot of him Tuesday! Don't worry.

ReplyDeleteNope. He'll get redeemed!
ReplyDeleteWrong. He deserves a chance to become a better someone and to find out what kind of person he can be without John Garrett's influence in his life.
ReplyDeleteAw, I love everyone (except for Garrett) on this show.

ReplyDeleteI don't think they will. I trust them that they know what they're doing. And like I said, the redemption arc should be long and painful.

ReplyDelete"Hate Skye's storyline"... Especially now that she has a fringe...
