I like Skye but man they are really trying to make her look like May aren't they? or maybe its just coincidence but the latest photos all seem to have them wearing similar style outfits and haircuts. I'm not minding darker more intense Skye though just as long as she isn't trying to much to be a May Clone.

It's a cool photo and all, but I don't like the direction they seem to be taking with Skye (as JJ already pointed out - turning Skye into a May clone). I would like to see Skye become more mature and responsible than she was when we first met her, but without turning her into May2.
I doubt she'll be a May clone ever. - Her DNA hints shes not human. - Skye changed after the Ward reveal , girl grew up after that and became somewhat more mature. - Shes a genius level hacker , May cant do that. - May is most likely training Skye now Ward was not that great of a teacher. -Skye sees the good in people but shes not stupid , shes brighter and preppy than May.
-Skye has always been hung up on superheroes and lm sure learning to kick ass is on her list of priorities , flashback to her face in the pilot after watching May kick ass. - Im glad shes probably learning how to fight , l have always believed this group of Agents was pretty elementary compared to some agents from the comics. Coulsons the lead and hes not really that impressive of a fighter May could take him in a fight . - Every one on the team should get self defense training , its only practical, Fitz and Simmons can't run away forever every time bad guys get to them.Their skills can be less than the others but at least they should get it.
I sure hope you’re right. I’m not saying that she shouldn’t learn how to fight. If anything, I think they all should possess at least some basic skills (looking at you, FitzSimmons). The fact that she’s a great hacker doesn’t really make me feel any better; it just makes me think that after they add combat skills, mysterious origin and who knows what else, we will be looking at a new Mary Sue... in May’s clothes.
She looks like if she actually shot that gun, she'd fall over backwards. Get her some actual training peeps. I don't like frail girls looking frail all the while a show tells us they can kick butt. Teach them to kick butt and get them the right muscles so they can support their own body weight and any weapons they need to yield.
I honestly don't understand all of these "I'm worried Skye is morphing into a May clone" comments.
1. Bangs - they don't make her look all that much like May, in my opinion. 2. Dark clothes - it looks like she's wearing a SHIELD uniform, which makes sense. They're rebuilding the organization almost from scratch. As a member of Coulson's small inner circle, she's going to have to take a more active part in missions, rather than just hack stuff from wherever the team is based. Now, if she starts wearing them 24/7 like May, whose lack of civilian clothes has always been rather odd, then I'll be worried. 3. Being more badass/fighting - same as the previous point. I'm sure that when possible, the team will go in with May, Trip and new addition Hunter leading the charge. However, Coulson is basically having to make do with his small ragtag team, as opposed to last season when he had whole SHIELD teams to back him up when necessary. It's only natural that Skye has to contribute in terms of field missions as well. 4. Being "darker" in general - look at the way Skye has been betrayed by Ward. He was her S.O. and she was developing feelings for him, only to discover that the guy is HYDRA and a murderer. He tried to kill two of their team members as well. Would it make sense for her not to be affected by what's happened? Granted, I don't want her to lose her spark and become too dark and angsty, but it wouldn't make sense for there not to be consequences at all.
So in short, I think all of these concerns about Skye being May 2.0 are more than a bit premature. Let's wait and see what she's like this season before judging.
someone Ducked up on the layers in Photoshop. Don't you know the Background Scenery stays in the Back not in front of her hiding her hands and side body.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteLooks like they've had time to train Skye since she became an agent. I wonder how badass she'll be.
ReplyDeleteagreed

ReplyDeleteShe looks absolutely awesome with that cool gun!
ReplyDeleteSkye with that gun is the sexiest thing I've seen in a minute.
