She's the head of HYDRA security? Hmmm, that seems interesting considering Mockingbird is a superhero, not a villian. Is she a double agent perhaps? wonder where they're going with this...
I think it's pretty impressive how these showrunners manage to work with comic mythology. It's all so confusing with the constant resets and contradicting stories! AoS has really upped its game this year.
She seems like a fairly beloved character from the comics so I'm sure they won't make her a villain and enrage the fans. I think she's either a double agent or just using HYDRA to get something. Although, they did say she's not necessarily an ally to Coulson at first.
Mockingbird is probably deep undercover under order by likely Fury not Coulson........in The Avneger: EMH animated series, Black Widow is believe by everyone to be Hydra but she is a double agent for SHIELD so I think the same thing here
I was looking forward to this.... and now I'm undewhelmed... Granted the picture is not giving up much, but the look (her being a brunette, the red uniform, the trying-to-be-badass-but-coming-off-sour face...) isn't doing it for me. And I like Adrianne so this is a double whammy...
She's almost certainly undercover. The comic-con intro hinted at her being a long-time SHIELD Agent and the episode title is "A Hen in the WolfHouse". What probably happened is after HYDRA came into the light she took the opportunity to insert herself into the organization. She could claim all of her contacts are dead or captured and no one would know any better because of the organizational structure.
I love comics, and most comic fans, but sometimes people get way too hung up on the superficial nonsense that doesn't matter. I'm more concerned about her personality than anything. She needs to be the wisecracking bad-ass we know and love.
Who gives a damn if she isn't a blonde? And recent pictures show her as a blonde so the dark hair is probably temporary anyway.
Big fan of Adrianne Palicki and of Bobbi Morse so this is a great combo for me (hair colour is a non issue IMO) - hope they do justice to the character and wonder of it will lead to a Hawkeye guest appearance too (they have an on/off/complicated relationship/marriage in the comics - not helped by skrull impersonations, brainwashing, deep cover ops etc). Also, in the comics she was definitely a good guy but did a lot of questionable things while undercover as she was a specialist in deep cover. I have little doubt it'll be the same (or similar at least) in the show unless they want to piss off fans.
Is she coming on as a regular or just a limited guest run? We need more strong women to even out the canvas. This is not the best photo to judge the character on so I'll wait for her debut.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteCould be because she is undercover maybe we see the blonde later
ReplyDeleteInteresting I love that she is a double agent
ReplyDeleteI thought the exact same thing. As if Blondes are not allowed on the show.
ReplyDeleteLet´s hope so.
ReplyDeleteIt's also funny because Adrianne used to be blonde.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try and not get hung-up on the fact that she's not blonde and just hope the character is interesting as well as Palicki's portrayal.

ReplyDeleteMy guess is that when we meet her, she is working for HYDRA but then switches sides to join Coulson's team.
ReplyDeletefake kara back in a superhero show but maybe an enemy and future ally awesome
