Joining the cast of the highly-anticipated new Marvel television series is Shea Whigham ("Boardwalk Empire," "Silver Linings Playbook") in the role of the tough but fair-minded SSR Chief Roger Dooley, the man who will oversee the previously announced Agents Carter (Hayley Atwell), Thompson (Chad Michael Murray) and Sousa (Enver Gjokaj).

What a great cast this is shaping up to be, Shea is wonderful in Boardwalk Empire and in other roles.
ReplyDeleteMethinks it's time for them to add some women. I don't want it to be one of these shows that have a sole female surrounded by a male harem. So far, among the character descriptions, only one female character was mentioned and she's yet to be cast.
ReplyDeleteI agree but people have pointed out that the time period should be accurately reflected because Peggy faced a lot of sexism back then and so this makes sense. But yeah, please add more women.
ReplyDeletePer the character bios, the role of Angie Martinelli is left to be cast.
ReplyDeleteWorking as an automat waitress, Angie dreams of being a
singer. She’s a tough, compassionate young woman who is smart and loyal
and seems set to be Peggy’s anchor to the world away from SHIELD.
Yes, that's the sole female character I mentioned. Also, I'd rather have additional women who are relevant to the main plot, which doesn't seem to be the case with a waitress.
ReplyDeleteYeah as sad as it is the Peggy being surrounded by men and white men at that makes sense for the time period and the situation she is in. But I hope we see more women as the series progresses.
ReplyDeleteI have my fingers crossed for Angie to be "inducted" on the SHIELD happenings for some reason. From waitress to badass (Or even better, badass waitress) Is a trope that I do like.
ReplyDeleteUnless Angie the waitress is Peggy's sister/Sharon's mother, which then it actually makes her important to the show and even more important to the next Captain America movie.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know when the show premieres?
