ABC FAMILY PICKS UP NETWORK’S FIRST PROCEDURAL DRAMA “STITCHERS” AND GOES BACK FOR A SECOND HELPING OF NEW COMEDY “YOUNG & HUNGRY”
Burbank, CA (September 29, 2014) – ABC Family today announced the network has picked up its first procedural drama “Stitchers” to series and has ordered a second season of new comedy series “Young & Hungry.”
“’Stitchers’ is new ground for us and I’m excited to bring procedurals to the network,” said Tom Ascheim, President, ABC Family. “We think our fans will love the intricate mysteries that ‘Stitchers’ will solve week to week as much as they love our relationship-driven dramas. We are also going back for seconds of our new comedy, ‘Young & Hungry.’ Good food, good laughs – of course we want more.”
“Stitchers” is a procedural drama series written by Jeffrey A. Schechter (“Overruled!”). “Stitchers” follows a young woman recruited into a covert government agency to be ‘stitched’ into the minds of the recently deceased using their memories to investigate murders and decipher mysteries that otherwise would have gone to the grave. The pilot was written by Jeffrey A. Schechter, who will executive produce alongside Jonathan Baruch and Rob Wolken.
“Young & Hungry” is an original comedy series where two worlds collide when Josh, a wealthy young entrepreneur, hires feisty Gabi to be his personal chef. “Young & Hungry” is produced by David Holden, Ashley Tisdale, Jessica Rhoades, Caryn Lucas and Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum in association with CBS Television Studios. Gabi Moskowitz, a San Francisco based food blogger, of BrokeAssGourmet.com, contributed to the development of this project. The show stars Emily Osment, Jonathan Sadowski, Aimee Carrero, Kym Whitley, and Rex Lee.
“Young & Hungry” ranks as basic cable’s #1 telecast in its time period in Adults 18-34, and Women 18-34, as well as other key demos. The show was nominated for two Teen Choice Awards for Choice Summer TV Show, and Choice Summer TV Star – Female for Emily Osment.

ReplyDeleteNo worries :)
ReplyDeleteyes for Y&H! So close to being cancelled though.
ReplyDeleteI'm in to the whole supernatural theme. Hopefully stitches is good!
ReplyDeleteYes! Young and Hungry! I was getting slightly worried about it being cancelled.
ReplyDeleteBut without eating the brains of the deceased, though since I have no idea how the "stitching" thing works in the context of the show, the trailer will be when I will make my decision on the show, but I dont have a favorable view of Stitchers right now.
ReplyDeleteSaw the Stitchers pilots, it was alright..some potential there.
ReplyDeleteGood for Young and Hungry. Still hoping for Recovery Road, the book is very good.
ReplyDeleteYAY!!!! Young and Hungry!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'll wait and see how ABCF treats Stitchers before giving it a try, they do not know how to market fantasy/genre shows in the slightest.
ReplyDeleteYes to Young and Hungry's renewal! I'm so happy (and surprised). Stitchers sounds really interesting. Going to give that show a shot.
ReplyDeleteI'm shocked Young and Hungry got renewed, weren't the ratings really bad like Mystery Girls and that got cancelled? And the networks picking up another drama? That doesn't sound to good for Chasing Life.. which sucks cause that's a really good show. I hate this damn network, they are almost as bad as the CW with the way they treat shows. Damnit.
ReplyDeleteNot going to watch the new show. I don't trust ABC Family anymore when it comes to freshman shows.
ReplyDeleteYes! I love Young & Hungry! A funny show with a fantasic cast who are hilarious.
ReplyDeleteGlad about Y & H.Wished they'd picked up Unstrung or Recovery Road instead of Stitichres.Hope Stitchers pickup isnt a bad sign for Fosters or Chasing Life.
ReplyDeleteawesome for young and hungry and glad stitchers got picked but i doubt it will last abc family hates action supernatural shows it seems
ReplyDeleteExcited
