I'm keeping my eye (ear) on the overuse of the "This is war!!!" line this year. It was said on all three of these shows this week!
Madam Secretary: Cool start, enjoyable.

Blacklist: Superb return. Not enough Red, though.

NCIS: NO - your basic everyday procedural with Scott Bakula
Black-ish - Started out rough, ended with great heart
The Blackilist - felt more like middle episode than premiere
The Goldbergs - I missed this family. A whole lot.
Everything else - Haven't watched. Need more hours in day.
I think Gordon is star of Gotham.

ReplyDeleteBecause I would have prefered a Gotham PD-centered show rather than all those origin stories of bad guys that we have already known and heard countless times. I am interested in Gordon's past and Barbara, and original stuuf, but giving Batman-fans just thoses same things again is kind of easy and boring I think. I am just waiting for more of course, can't judge a book by its cover and a show by its premiere right? :D
I guess 7 words are a bit short for me XD.
I'm on a different side of the Batman thing. I know only what I've seen in the TV show and a few movies, so for me I just wanted it to be a good story for those of us without in-depth knowledge. I am good with the origins of the criminals as long as those criminals are doing something. Catwoman stalking a kid did nothing for me.

I thought it was "ok" and even though I generally enjoy Batman stuff, I wasn't really feeling it, except for the fact that this cat wom---errrr, I mean cat girl was a very different take on the character (almost steam punk) and I liked the Gordon/Dent relationship, but It didn't sell me or move me very much.
ReplyDeleteThat was my fellijng as well. It wasn't good. It wasn't bad. It was just meh. I'm not a huge Batman fan to begin with so I didn't know what to expect from a Batman series that isn't about Batman. I actually like the Steampunk look of Catgirl, but she had no purpose for being on screen most of the time, which was frustrating. For me, Fish was the only really intriguing character.
