First of all for me it will always be Helena Gilbert and in close second &@$&@*#&@ Laurel!!!
ReplyDeleteExpect the Laurel haters to arrive in 3...2...1
ReplyDeleteYou could apply that logic to all the characters listed here.
ReplyDeleteRoy Harper for me.
ReplyDeleteELENA GILBERT
ReplyDeleteCaroline Forbes for me. I don't get it why she's not in the poll while Damon and Enzo are.
ReplyDeleteLaurel. I genuinely don't know if she has a brain cell. My favourite example:
ReplyDelete-stays in building that is about to collapse
-Tommy comes and tries to save her
-Tommy dies
-Vigilante's fault
Laurel and Other - Klaus.
ReplyDeleteHelena
ReplyDeleteGabe and Tyler. They simply exceed the level of boredom.
ReplyDeleteOther-Caroline Forbes. She is still the same selfish, manipulative, envious and hypocrite girl she was back in season 1. She changed a little bit in season 2 and she was likable, but she went back to being what I said before.
ReplyDeleteFinn for me most likely. I really don't like anything about him.
ReplyDeleteI love Katie Cassidy, and this week S04 of GG started airing here in Serbia again and I love Juliet. Such a strong character so intruiging every thing, but this cry baby Laurel thing is quite pissing me off. I hope her S03 story will be a lot better.
Well, for me Laurel Lance is the best character on Arrow.
ReplyDeleteElena Gilbert
ReplyDeleteHow is Marcel even on this list?
ReplyDeleteBonnie - TVD, Francesca - The Originals
ReplyDeleteFinn?
ReplyDeleteFor Why??
Damon and Finn are my favorite characters :-)
ReplyDeleteSometimes he is borderline stereotypical, I think that is why
ReplyDeleteOf the few times I tuned in Beauty and The Beast the character of Gabe always bothered me, so I voted for him.
ReplyDeleteFor me it's Elena on TVD and Marcel on The Originals. I almost voted for Damon but I used to like him, unlike the other two.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch any other CW shows so Laurel's my pick. Sorry, she's probably the most wishy-washy, half baked supposed female 'lead' I've probably ever come across. We're told to believe one thing about her, but the complete opposite comes off on screen. I think it's partially due to terrible writing for her character and partially due to bad acting. I really do get the sense that KC doesn't really connect with Laurel at all nor does she make an effort to :/
ReplyDeleteCan Laurel be redeemed? Only time will tell, but out of everything on this show, I'm most pessimistic about her redemption.
Elena's clone, duh :p
ReplyDeleteOP got burned lol
ReplyDeleteI think it's because he was a huge hypocrite during the first episodes and complained all the time about the decisions others made without taking any responsibility himself. But the character got a lot better in the last episodes.
ReplyDeleteCaroline Forbes. She is incredible annoying and the biggest Mary Sue right now. Everybody falls in love with her, she is never wrong and whenever somebody calls her out she gets mad and blames everything on someone else.
ReplyDeleteI always find it hilarious when people write "Helena", "Stephen" and "Damian". Who are these people?
ReplyDeleteExactly. She is the worst right now.
ReplyDeleteEnzo was the best thing about season five. I don't know what he is doing there.
ReplyDeleteTyler for me. I get bored whenever he is on screen. At least with Laurel I get angry and annoyed.
ReplyDeleteTyler and laurel.....get rid of them ASAP.
ReplyDeleteShe was right to call out tyler for his douchy behaviour IMO.He deserved that smack from stefan.
ReplyDeleteImo characters like Enzo and all other new comers who get the storylines and screentimes are the ones mostly damaging the show. It happened with The Originals family. Instead of giving focus on these going-to-die/going-to-leave anyway characters they should've given solid storylines and screentimes to their core characters like Tyler, Bonnie, Caroline, Matt etc so that maybe people start to care about these characters and show a whole lot. And maybe if they could have focused on these characters they could be more inconsistent and less hypocrite and less dumb etc...
ReplyDeleteWhat is the purpose of this poll, just to let people make nasty comments? Surprised this one was used.
ReplyDeleteNo. Tyler had every right to be upset about Caroline sleeping with the man who killed his mom and had every right not to want to be friends with her. But Caroline kept pushing him because god forbid somebody doesn't think she is the best.
ReplyDeleteCaroline was a horrible person towards the guy who was supposed to be "the love of her life" (her words). Caroline is just an awful character and a huge hypocrite.
It's an au where Stephen kicks Helena's ass for trying to seduce Damian.
ReplyDeleteClickbait.
ReplyDeleteother- Elena ofc.
ReplyDeleteSurprisingly there aren't a lot of nasty comments. It's okay not to like a character as long as you're civil about it!
ReplyDeleteHe chose to walk out on her,she didn't.Yes,she made a bad choice,no doubt regarding that but that was solely her decision to make, not his. So,no,she was right in her behaviour. She may be a bit rash and self-righteous but she is loads ahead of that whiny and weak of a character called elena.Julie is blind towards caroline and makes everyone fall in love with her-that part is annoying sur but that doesn't make her character any less awesome. As far as tyler is concerned,he took a step avenge her mom's death-fair decision on her part but behaving that way with caroline while going away was not acceptable and incredibly naive and dumb on his part to think that he would defeat Klaus alone without any back-up or proper plan. When he got a beating as expected,he came back again expecting would be peachy and caroline would be waiting for him.God forbid,a woman chooses to move on with her life and all hell breaks loose.Inspite of everyone fawning over hot bad boy damon, she never once waivered her feelings for damon. She disliked her and that didn't change overnight and i respect that.Too bad you don't see it that way. It's fair i guess, everyone has different views.
ReplyDeleteSomehow I knew Laurel would win this poll.
ReplyDeleteLaurel Lance -- main reason that I stopped watching Arrow.
ReplyDeleteShe made a rash and bad decision sleeping with klaus, but that was her decision to make, not his.He walked out on her to fulfill some unplanned and incredibly naive revengenda and expected everything to be peachy after he returned.Guess what,it doesn't work that way.
ReplyDeleteEnzo shouldn't be this poll, god knows how many useless character are there in TVD right now! He was the only good thing to come out of that crappy second half of this season!
ReplyDeleteOther - Lavon Hayes and probably the entire cast of ´Hart of Dixie´ :/
ReplyDeleteGo back. Just skip her scenes, they're irrelevant to 99% of the storyline so you won't be missing much.
ReplyDeleteAnd? She shouldn't expect Tyler to support what she did and expect to be friends with him. Klaus murdered his mother.
ReplyDeleteHe wanted space and she kept pushing him. Also he has the right to do whatever he wants because they are broken up. She can do whatever she wanted too but she couldn't expect him to like what she did or still think she was a great person. Besides Caroline acted like it was Tyler's fault that she slept with Klaus. She is her own person and she makes her on decisions. It was incredible stupid to blame him.
If your name isn't Stefan, Damon, Elena and Caroline you are probably useless in TVD. Plec only cares about her favorites which sucks because all the characters used to be great in the first two seasons.
ReplyDeleteStefan is also getting sidelined to some extent or becoming a 3rd wheel due to delena favouritism.
ReplyDeleteGuess we feel very differently about this character. In your opinion, she is the worst character in TVD now,in mine, she is the best character apart from katherine and alaric to some extent. So,it's okay i guess.Everyone has different opinions,so do you & i.
ReplyDeleteIf Delena is Plec's favorite she has a weird way of showing it. Also when Stelena was a couple I remember all the Delena fans complaining about the Stelena favoritism.
ReplyDeleteNo, Laurel cannot be redeemed.
ReplyDeleteThe stupidest blonde in the world aka Caroline Forbes.
ReplyDeleteTVD has become delena diaries of late, everything is about them, seperated or united, doesn't matter. It's not like making delena the focus of this season hasn't done any wonders in terms of ratings! They should abandon the ships altogether and get their act straight but i doubt that will never happen!
ReplyDeleteLaurel is winning... She's really the worst!
ReplyDeleteElena Gilbert (The Vampire Diaries)
ReplyDeleteother: Hayley (The Originals)
ReplyDeletethey made a total 180° with her her character, she started out interestingly with learning the Mikaelsons game but then changed her up and immediately turned her into Super-werewolf-queen thingy.
The character is inconsistent as fudge and Phoebe Tonking is about the CWs second worst actress to me.
I mean...I dislike a lot of CW characters. Klaus, Marcel, Caroline, Sara, Damon being only a few of them. But none of them are so horribly written. Sure Damon and Klaus are inconsistent as well but at least Joseph Morgan is a good actor and Ian Somerhalder has some charme to get out of his meh acting. And while I dislike Sara overall she isn't inconsistent, just underdeveloped
Heyley is the worst character on a CW ever
ReplyDeleteLaurel, and other: Hayley - TO
ReplyDeleteNo, you missed the best one!
ReplyDeleteAfter weeks(months?) of ignoring the advice and help of her friends and family she listens to the one person who just held her and others hostage.
Solid life choices there, Laurel.
Ha! Another solid example.
ReplyDeleteHayley I think is the worst, but Elena is pretty awful these days.
ReplyDeleteCaroline is pretty useless too. She didn't have a storyline in Season 5 other than propping up Stefan. All Julie knows how to do with Caroline is to relegate her to being a love interest.
ReplyDeleteMETATRON. Had potential, now Carver should have his fingernails pulled out.
ReplyDeleteI do think the regressed her character some - but I think they did it because they wanted to go with Steroline (which I hate - it would be just like her relationship with Matt and she'd know she was the second choice after Elena and always be insecure about it). They don't seem to really want to allow Caroline to really grow though.
ReplyDeleteJulie has no idea what to do with Tyler, Matt, Jeremy and Bonnie. Matt & Tyler haven't had anything decent since Kevin Williamson left the show and Bonnie is just a plot-device. Jeremy isn't even allowed to hate Damon - the man who killed him and tried to have him killed again very recently.
ReplyDeleteEven without the Originals and characters like Enzo - Bonnie wouldn't be given a storyline because Julie doesn't know what to do with Bonnie for some reason. There would just be even more focus on Elena and the Salvatores without the new characters.
I actually feel bad for Laurel (even though I hate that character and voted for her) coz Gab was an evil SOB and yet she's winning the poll smh
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't about her sleeping with someone though. It's about her sleeping with the person who KILLED his mom. He asked her to leave him alone many times, he didn't want to talk to her. He has every right to not want to be bothered with the person that claims to love him and sleep with the person that murdered his mom, just like she has the right to sleep with whomever she wants. She can't get mad at Tyler for wanting revenge on Klaus (who was basically living on Klaus's terms) and then expect him not to be mad over her actions. She is a hypocrite, I don't even dislike Caroline, but that scene was wrong in many ways and he did not deserve to get hit by Stefan, especially after all the crappy things Stefan, himself, has done. Stefan and Caroline belong together because they are both judgmental hypocrites, and I like both of these characters.
ReplyDeleteGabe:Batb is a very boring tv show and I stopped watching it in the first season.
ReplyDeleteTyler:When Tyler got killed forever(although I don't know if that's possible in tvd),I'll be so happy...He's a boring character and writers don't know what to do with him. Here's my idea:Kill him already!
Because many fans hate him over the Raven situation, and because of ship preferences I believe. Because there is not liking a character, but the way the fandom hate the character is ridiculous because he hasn't done anything worse than the other characters who are loved, IMO.
ReplyDeleteWithout a doubt, Laurel Lance. She's a poor character, poorly built from the first episode of Arrow. (and she's worse every season) I think she's not necessary, it is one of those characters that spoil the shows. I don't understand why she is still in season 3.
ReplyDeleteHuh, I always thought "helena" was a nick name used to imply their dislike of the character. ..hell+elena
ReplyDeleteI'm really trying to keep an open mind about her. I don't want to hate a character who's obviously not going anywhere anytime soon. Plus, now that she knows about Oliver being the vigilante, I'm pretty sure it'll be a lot more difficult to fast forward her scenes and not miss anything important. But what's 100% certain is that Laurel will never break top 10 of my favorite characters on the show.
ReplyDeleteTough one! I don't watch Arrow or the 100 (and I should catch up on these ones!). And BatB? Not my cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteI had to vote for Tyler because even though I've got nothing against him, this character has been pretty useless since season 4 which was when his story ended, IMO. He should have never come back. And the writers don't seem to know how to "use" him properly.
I'm surprised Enzo made it to the poll. He's about the best thing that happened to the show in season 5 with Damon... well not being Damon anymore.
As for the Originals, I don't dislike Marcel as much. I like him better when he's not an antagonist for Klaus because he wasn't believable in that role.
Also where's Elena? I used to love her in the first three seasons where she was an actual character not just a girl being there for shipping material purposes. Season 5 was the worst for her. Hopefully the writers will do something about it because it's impossible for me to root for her at this point.
Never thought of that but now I'm definitely gonna use it ;) !
ReplyDeleteI get your point I really do ;) !! And I agree actually even though I do love Caroline myself. I'll just add that quite frankly everyone has a history with sleeping with the ennemy in the show and Caroline is hardly the exception. Elena continues to sh*g Damon over and over even if he continues to threaten her loved ones and Stefan also did terrible things to her and she kept coming back at him. Both Stefan and Damon slept with Rebekah, etc, etc...
ReplyDeleteI guess my point is they're all hypocritical in some ways ;) !
None of these that I've seen. I don't watch BaTB so I don't even know who Gabe is.
ReplyDeleteMetatron was the absolute worst character SPN has ever had. He was a whiny, petulant child. Not a worthy villain at all.
ReplyDeleteOh and I forgot Silas (sorry Paul Wesley you played him well but even you couldn't save him from the horrendous writing!). He has to be the worst villain in TVD's history... along with Markos who actually wins in my book! Both the character and the actor were boring!
ReplyDeleteWhere is Elena "I can't" Gilbert? She is one of the worst protagonists of all-time, even when the show was good.
ReplyDeleteDamon is also terrible, he is a stupid prick whose omnipresence ruins everything.
Disonorable and sad mention for all women in Supernatural, who are all written to be objects and die from the worst ways possible.
That only proves my point further though, Caroline judged Elena sleeping with Damon because she dislikes him after what he did to her, rightfully so. No one said a peep because it was justified anger that Caroline felt because her best friend is sleeping with the guy that abused her. But people act like Tyler's anger isn't justified when it's a similar situation. And in any case, while other people are hypocrites on the show, this post was specifically about Tyler/Caroline/Stefan. The fans themselves are the biggest hypocrites because the popular characters can do whatever they want, but when the unpopular character or the one that stands in the way of the popular ship can do nothing right. I'm just really tired of the bias.
ReplyDeleteAs much as i like stefan and caroline, the idea of them together as a couple is not okay with me.I hate tyler to my core, but i liked caroline and him together, believe it or not for some time.Steroline works best as BFFs,nothing more.
ReplyDeleteMetatron - Supernatural. That is all.
ReplyDeleteI actually enjoyed Silas the most out of season 5, his writing might have been bad but the character and the way Paul portrayed him was fun.
ReplyDeleteIt's true though.Every character has done some shady things in his/her past,so no one is exactly in a position to judge anyone honestly.
ReplyDeleteCompletely agree on this. His character was offed too early and for what? That boring augustine storyline!! Talk about bad writing decisions!
ReplyDeleteTyler from The Vampire Diaries. That guy is useless. Just kill him.
ReplyDelete@mac, @joy : Yes that's why I didn't like Silas and it has nothing to do with Paul's portrayal was really good. He was just underdevelopped and I'm not sure that a villain who wants to die is the most threatening thing in a show like this. Both Katherine and Klaus worked really because of their appetite for life and power! Well I don't know I guess it's just a matter of taste ;) !
ReplyDeleteI get you-for me kat and klaus will always be the best villains of all time in this show.
ReplyDeleteYeah for me too! Not sure how season 6 will handle its new big bads. Hopefully they'll be just as scary, charismatic and monstrous.
ReplyDeleteEveryone is very self-centered and dislikes other characters based on their experiences with them. Stefan can be pretty horrible, but he's never personally hurt Caroline so she likes him - Damon on the other hand has tried to kill her twice and actually raped her back in Season 1.
ReplyDeleteElena manages to overlook the things that Damon has done to all the people around her (including Jeremy & Caroline) and only really cares about how he treats her personally.
Oh ok I get it now! I fully agree on the Tyler part and all, perhaps I should have been clearer about that sorry! I was just responding on the "hypocritical" part. And I'm tired of the bias too sometimes but frankly I'm not sure I'm in a position to judge because I do have my favorites. And anything Elena does lately kinda rubs me the wrong way.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed.BTW,when will be TVDS06 promotional poster be out?It should've been out by now.
ReplyDeleteI get it, I have my faves as well and that's perfectly fine. It's just annoying when one character does something and it's okay and then a less popular character does it and they are crappiest person all of a sudden.
ReplyDeleteI think Silas would have worked had he not turned out to be Paul Wesley. If they had cast another actor in the role I think Silas could have been a great villain because he was scarier in Season 4 when he was trying to drop the veil to the Other Side and let all the ghosts out and was getting into everyone's heads. He became way too comical and his plot-line in Season 5 did not match really what was going on in Season 4 with all the sacrifices that Shane orchestrated and everything.
ReplyDeleteI think Katherine & Klaus worked because they were well developed characters and their plans made sense and they were consistent - their plans sometimes opposed the Mystic Falls gang and what they wanted but they're weren't any more evil than the other characters. Klaus just wanted to break the hybrid curse and make some other hybrids so he wouldn't be alone (which is not all the villainous really) and Katherine was just all about survival and was there in Season 2 to basically try and make peace with Klaus by helping him finally breaking the curse.
Other: Hayley and Klaus (The Originals), John Murphy (The 100)
ReplyDeleteThis is a strange list of choices, but I'm guessing that the list only includes characters that the poster personally finds annoying, which results in the omission of a number of more obvious choices. But hey...that's why it's called "user-defined poll", lol.
From the list, I picked Laurel and Enzo, even though I don't find them that bad. My issue with Laurel is that she's not a good enough character to get that much exposure. Similarly, Enzo isn't that bad, but In the context of the Vampire Diaries, there is just nothing unique or original about him (I feel like we've seen this type of character a number of times in the Vampire Diaries)
Tyler and Marcel are actually two of my favorite characters and even Damon is OK. My least favorite TVD character was probably katherine, but I generally like most of the core characters.
But that's not my point, so I'm just not going to respond on this any longer. Because everyone wants to bring up stuff that has absolutely nothing to do with the situation at hand. Because it's not about who did what wrong on the show. So, I just give up.
ReplyDeleteIndeed ;) ! And I've got no idea of when those will be released. But it shouldn't long now since we got the trailer.
ReplyDeleteThey're dragging out all the promotional stuff this year for obvious reasons!
Laurel was ruined by writers.
ReplyDeleteSame with Elena after she became a vamp. As a human I thought she was a good person and wasn't blinded by any love. She chose to do right and cared. Even with her emotions on she hasn't been a good character.
And Metatron has to have been the worst villain ever on Supernatural. Ack. So annoying.
I disagree Elena was pretty blinded to love as a human as well. She never really acknowledged all the people that the Salvatores had killed. In early Season 3 Stefan was racking up bodies and all Elena cared about was getting her boyfriend back - she didn't care at all about his long list of victims. Even though Damon killed a bunch of the townspeople in Season 1 Elena really never cared too much and she got over Damon killing Jeremy (in early Season 2) by mid-Season 2.
ReplyDeleteHow in the world is Hayley Marshall not on this list?
ReplyDeleteI would be fine with Tyler removing Caroline from his life and wanting nothing more to do with her. He can angry if he wants and he can move on with his life.
ReplyDeleteEvery character is guilty of killing a family member of another character at this point, I think (Matt lost his sister to the Salvatores, Tyler lost family who were killed by Damon & Klaus, Elena lost family members because of Damon & Klaus, Alaric killed Caroline's dad, Bonnie's parents were killed by Damon & Silas, the Mystic Falls gang has killed 3 of Klaus' family members, Tyler killed Katherine's daughter)..
Exactly. When Williamson was around everybody got something to do and everybody got a storyline. Of course Tyler, Matt, Bonnie and Jeremy were still secondary characters but they had a reason to exist in the show. Also the show was so much better when the secondary characters got quality screentime instead of EVERYTHING revolving around Elena, Damon, Stefan and Caroline. Even if Enzo wasn't around Plec wouldn't know how to write for the others because she doesn't care.
ReplyDelete"Ship preferences" coud apply to almost every character on the poll.
ReplyDeleteYou have spoken the truth. Some character in TVD can get away with anything while other characters can't even stand up for themselves without getting plenty of the hate.
ReplyDeleteLaurel gets WAY too much hate, and that's disappointing from someone who is a fan of the character, as well as being just a fan of Black Canary(which she WILL be….sorry Laurel haters, lol). The writers just seem to not really care too much about the female characters on this series if your name isn't Sara or Shado. But, saying this, I do have a problem with how cliche Thea is on Arrow. She's your typical teenaged girl that gets mom at her mom left and right with no real reason whatsoever. More than half the times Thea did become mad at Moira was because reasons and that's it. The writing for Thea is atrocious, especially in a series with adults on it, but I on the flip side, her being trained under the tutelage of Malcolm for S3 sounds very interesting.
ReplyDeleteI agree but most fans still think she is the "best" and according to Plec Caroline is the one who represents "girl power" in the show. Also she gets as much as screentime as the three leads.
ReplyDeleteJust because there's too much dumb hate in some of these comments.
ReplyDeleteCAROLINE FORBES IS THE BEST AND RULES THE WORLD.
PS. Voted Damon.
I also hate how they ignored her history on TVD. Hayley was a villain on TVD and needed to remain that character - but just fleshed out more instead of being retconned.
ReplyDeleteCaroline I think could be great if they used her correctly, but that doesn't seem like something they're willing to do.
ReplyDeleteI agree that Caroline really didn't get a proper storyline this season. Well at least she didn't get one that wasn't boy related or fan-service related because that's exactly what the KC moment was (as was this whole "relationship") for me. However, I do think she's the one, out of the three female leads, that still has potential.
ReplyDeleteAs for Plec's version of "girl power" sadly I have to agree with you here. This season was pretty awful for every female character in this show to be honest and it wasn't very good for TO's female characters either althought I thought it did change throughout the season.
I don't hate Hayley but I agree. I hated how they used Tyler to prop her and portray her as a poor victim when she was the one that betrayed him. In TVD she felt guilty about what she did, she had a crush on Tyler and she had knew him for months. In the Originals she acted like he was just some crazy random guy from her past. WTF!
ReplyDeleteI thought Tyler showing up in NOLA would make her admit her mistakes and that would lead to some character development but no she was just a poor victim.
I like the character but I have to agree with you here because believe or not I already enjoyed her in TVD and I thought there was so much squandered potential when she was introduced in TO, though in my opinion it did get better. This is one thing I don't like sometimes in JP and her team's writing in regards to both shows : they tend to erase those parts of their personalities and their wrong actions, when it's actually one the best parts of their persona.
ReplyDeleteI personnally don't mind having characters that have that edge. TVD was never the story of people being completely good to the core as it was never the story of people being completely evil either. And Klaus, Elijah and Co are certainly not innocent people. But sorry I'm getting off topic here and I'm not really answering your comment ;) !
I guess my point is this : just like @Euphemia here I would have like the hybrid slaughter issue to be adressed as I'd like to see her make mistakes in TO's second season. I think the revenge arc they planned for her will be interesting in that regard.
This just made me laugh...
ReplyDeleteWith Felicity being such a likable and well appreciated character, I doubt Laurel can be redeemed. I suppose her only hope is to be a total butt kicker as the Black Canary (and not be such a whiny self absorbed cunt, of course)
ReplyDeleteHayley-TO
ReplyDeleteThe worst character ever!
Caroline is the best. She is the only one you can't call Mary Sue.
ReplyDeleteNot precious,not from a special bloodline.Just a real girl.
She's not even the worst character on that show let alone all of television.
ReplyDeleteYes,but she begged Klaus to let him live. She begged Klaus to let him return. And what Tyler did?She left her alone again for revenge. No one is victim here.
ReplyDeleteIn your opinion. In mine she is.
ReplyDeleteShe's the worst and most inconsistent character on TVD or TO. She could have been an okay character on TO but once they gave her the Elena treatment and turned her into a super special snowflake that can do no wrong and is always a victim she became the worst character.
ReplyDeleteOh and everybody forgot poor Cami.
ReplyDeletePlease she's unbearable
"She's the worst and most inconsistent character on TVD or TO."
ReplyDeleteNope. That was Rebekah. Then when she left the mantle passed to Marcel.
Caroline Forbes is the worst annoying character of all t.v shows /movies that was ever written.
ReplyDeleteMalcolm Merlyn (Arrow), Jasper/Raven (The 100), Jeremy Carver (Supernatural)
ReplyDeletethis poll is just as bad as the worst CW show....... or whatever the title was
ReplyDeleteInflicting some of the pain Carver has inflicted on SPN fans back at him. You know I'm there.
ReplyDeleteOmg, Laurel Lance is blowing everybody away, I've got to admit it she is a character!
ReplyDeleteElena Gilbert would get my vote so I chose other.
ReplyDeleteElena is the worst protagonist ever. She calls everyone else out on their crimes but she fails to see the bad that she has done. Rebekah is apparently a bad person because she tried to kill her because she daggered her. Rebekah can kill Elena anytime she wants but Rebekah is a better person than Elena. Elena is a whiny spoiled brat who cries when she doesn't get her way
ReplyDeleteDamon.
ReplyDeleteRebekah's also pretty bad.
ReplyDeleteCome on, Malcolm is no where near the worst character on Arrow. But Jeremy Carver is so very awful.
ReplyDeleteI never really thought about it because i saw it all the time in True Blood fandom. They use Sucky to refer to Sookie and Beel for Bill (not really an insult just mocking).
ReplyDeleteAtleast Rebekah felt bad for Elena losing her brother even though Elena is the reason he is did, even though Elena tried to get Stefan to betray her and dagger her, Elena tried to kill her on the island and Elena did her very best to make Rebekah feel unwelcomed on the island acting like she had a so say in who got to come. Elena wanted to shove the cure down klaus' throat just because she just killed his brother. She was ready and willing to kill the whole Original family.Rebekah took her in when she lost her humanity when no one would take her in and Elena paid her back by telling her that "we're not friends."
ReplyDeleteThea being a very poorly written character doesn't change that Laurel is one too.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a Laurel hater, for now I could only feel this for TVD's Elena, but it's been two seasons and nothing has happened her case.
Other female characters have cannibalized her too,
- Sara comes back, Caity Lotz isn't a good actress at all (but who is on Arrow? We watch it because of the action) but hey, she is still better than Katie Cassidy and she is black canary. - Shado dies, people care, if it was Laurel, people wouldn't.
- Moira was a hateable and manipulative character, fine, she works that way.
- Felicity, well, some Arrow fans love her too much and take the Olicity thing too far, but, well, who would you pick? The pain in the arse or the charismatic loveable nerd?
Arrow tried to put Laurel and Oliver together in a very CW way, with a love triangle between them and Tommy, it backfired, they'll still move the chains for her to be the canary, but she doesn't convince anyone.
To finish and come back to Thea's comparsion, Thea (and Roy) are ahead of her, no one cares about them, they are useless at least for now, Laurel, no one cares and everybody hates and it is an irreversible process, because even when Laurel looks likeable, there is always something that reminds us why we hate here.
How come your reasons only sound exactly like the ramblings from a "Laurel hater". "Shado dies, people care, if it was Laurel, people wouldn't". You're now talking for the entire audience who watch Arrow?
ReplyDeleteMalcolm coming back is the main reason I dropped Arrow. He's hammy, soapy, and acted way over the top. Carver is the reason I dropped Supernatural.
ReplyDeleteI can't disagree with your decision more.
ReplyDeleteThere are not enough votes for me to choose all of my options. I stopped watching several CW shows, after giving several episodes a try, because of the bad characters, and the bad writing for them.
ReplyDeleteI didn't mind Tyler in season 2. but after that he's so very terrible.
ReplyDeleteLaurel and Tyler. Those are my votes. It was a hard choice when i saw Marcel's name there. i'm like hmmm, who do i hate most? I can't stand both of them. But Marcel kinda did some crap at the end that i can't remember right now, but i remember i said okk he did this, he can stay for ONE more epsiode. lol...But Tyler my god, how he made it to season 6 is BEYOND me. He didn't do a damn thing this season, now he's back to his douchy human ways. smh. Ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteomg i'm stoked!! Malcolm is the character i love to hate! lol Can't wait to see him training Thea!! #$%$#%^*%^&*
ReplyDeleteI'm only watching BatB and Arrow from this list ~ definitely voted for G although he is technically not on BatB anymore as he is dead DEAD ~ good riddance. Colton's character and Thea are the worst characters on Arrow for me and someone NOT on this list that I detest more than anything is Jack from Revenge. Just thinking of him as Emily's endgame has put me off Revenge so much.
ReplyDeleteStefan Salvatore is the WORST!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI can imagine you with a fake press pass to get to the front of the line and your own pliers.
ReplyDeleteThe shade. lol
ReplyDeletelmfao.
ReplyDeleteI think Laurel could be redeemed but only if they start to write to KC's acting, keep Laurel in small doses, and never ever make her the Black Canary or Oliver's love interest again.
ReplyDeleteWould you believe her as Black Canary? I wouldn't, especially not after seeing Caity Lotz in the role. If they want to redeem Laurel, they have to make her someone completely different. Vigilante Lawyer maybe.
ReplyDeleteCaring about the female characters mean lousy writing now?
ReplyDeleteAnd have you seen every episode for the past two seasons? Thea was always, and ignorantly, pissy about her mother for no reason except maybe for a couple actual, legit reasons. Thea was written as your typical, cliche teenaged daughter who was mad at the world. It wasn't smart writing at all.
There's no need for name calling. I don't believe Laurel's likability has anything to do with Felicity's. If her character starts to work and people start liking her, then it won't be predicated upon how people view Felicity, and the same goes if the opposite happens as well.
ReplyDeleteWhile I remain pessimistic about Laurel, the least I can do is keep an open mind about her because if I had the attitude that Laurel can never be redeemed, then everything she does even if it's positive will seem bad which isn't fair. The least I can do is give Laurel a third chance.
Do I like that it's taken 2 or more seasons to make Laurel likable? No. But at least they can start with season 3. To be honest, if they fail her character in season 3 as well, I probably will never get on board with Laurel. Three strikes and you're out and all that...
But I have the feeling that the writers and EPs will be trying hard to make Laurel more likable this season. Hopefully they don't try too hard that it makes it seem as such on screen, but hopefully they understand where Laurel is going and who the character actually is. Season 3 is pretty much a reset for her character.
The question is though, will KC step up? Hopefully. The problem I've seen with her is not making her character look badass (which I think she can comfortably achieve), her problem is making Laurel look sympathetic which she failed to do the past two seasons. And judging from all of KCs interviews, it seems as though KC doesn't really understand that Laurel is more than just the title of BC/ her supposed badassness/do-gooder. I hope she figures that out asap.
I personally cant stand Dean Winchester from SPN but he is actually one of the only well written and respected characters on the show, probably the only one. Jeremy Carver obviously likes Dean/Jensen and not too many people complain about the guy so I guess he works for the most part.
ReplyDeleteI like Sam Winchester but the guy is one of the worst written characters on any CW show, Carver has no respect fro him or Jared Padalecki (or cannon for that matter) and it shows in how many people constantly have an issue with the character.
The CW has some of the worst writers on TV which is a shame because the actors all deserve so much better.
Sticking to the list...It's Laural Lance. She, for me, is that most traditional 'chick' character on the shows I currently watch. (Never watched The 100 and hate Beauty and the Beast so don't watch that) Laurel is easily lied to, whines, and frequently needs rescuing.
ReplyDeleteUntil they decided to take her and Stephan romantic (what is wrong with letting a man an woman be best friends without having them just into bed. This move has ruined nearly every single pair of characters they've done this to) Sorry.
ReplyDeleteUntil they decided to take her and Stefan romantic Caroline was the reason I watched the show. Which was a surprise to me because she was the character I most hated in season one.
The writers on this show are incredibly frustrating. They do things that annoy me to epic proportions then the two characters I watch the show for (Damon and Caroline) have really great stuff to do. Then they annoy me again and I declare I will never watch again....then I have to see the rest of what's going on with Damon because a promo looked really intriguing. Makes me glad I am not a Nielson home. :-D
ReplyDeleteWhat lousy female characters are you talking about? The only one I can think of is Laurel.
ReplyDeleteAs I've explained: Moira was an absentee parent for most of Thea's life and even more after the boat accident happened. She had a very good reason to be pissy with her because her mother wasn't effectively parenting and when she decided to, it was because Oliver told her to. She doesn't have a couple reasons, she has several thousand reasons. WE didn't see a lot of Moira's parenting because the show is about Oliver, BUT Oliver called his parents out on several occasions. There was a reason Oliver ended up the way he did before the accident, which was due to his parents hands off approach.
Thea annoyed me, but her mad at the world routine was because both her father and brother appeared to be dead for five years. Her brother comes back from the dead, but is different and, at times, hypocritical as well as stand offish. Her mother spent months mourning in her room rather than helping Thea deal with her loss as well. Then, we she gets married, she still doesn't pay the proper attention she needs to pay to Thea. Furthermore, she schemed to destroy the poorer side of the city (where Thea's boyfriend lived) and after that happened, her brother disappeared for months.
Explain to me how you would deal with Thea's problems since you think she is being so bratty and rude to her mother.
I love Moira suspect parenting and all. Upset to see her killed. I actually like all of the female characters minus Laurel. I don't think that it was lousy development. It could be better developed--meaning fleshing out the characters more, but I don't think they were mishandled in the way Laurel was.
I would use the word "changed" not redeemed. I am hoping they arc they're working toward is sort of putting her on the path Oliver is traveling in flashback. I.e. week annoying female to super hero. I hope. That said. I have doubts that the actress can play strong kick ass female convincingly.
ReplyDeleteI don't know the others, but Gabe Lowen was very bad.
ReplyDeleteHa - your inclusion of Carver has given me an idea for a new poll....hmmm, may need to do some research though.....
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone else really dislike Camille from the Originals! I find her annoying and irrelevant to the show!!
ReplyDeleteAt the ready, sir, and patiently waiting to be called up for active duty.
ReplyDeleteHe is by far my least favorite person on Supernatural and that includes Garth, Becky, and the freaking Ghostfacers. He's worst than all three and the next 100 people on the most annoying list put together.
ReplyDeleteIf you are going to submit a worst showrunner poll, my guess is that Julie Plec wins hands down. I know nothing about her and don't even watch her shows, and yet even I know how much people despise her.
You should try The 100. It's actually a refreshing change to the CW pace in many ways. Yeah, it's got the annoying love triangle junk but working around that is a whole lot of good.
ReplyDeleteBonnie and Jeremy from TVD, Elijah from The Originals
ReplyDeleteMy question was: which change in showrunner has done the most creative damage to the series?
ReplyDeleteOf course Sera Gamble and Jeremy Carver were the first on my list...I didn't include Julie Plec cuz I couldn't find where she had replaced someone and then screwed up the show but I was looking while I was "working" last night so I may have missed it....bright side - I managed to FINALLY remember to include "Other" as an option so she can live in shame as the "Other" vote ;-)
Getting upset at Moira for supposedly not being there for her, getting mad at Moira for thinking she was the one who cheated on Robert Queen, getting mad at Moira for going "killing" everyone from the Glades….she was written as your typical, cliche teenager that has no reason to be so upset.
ReplyDeleteShe is soooooooo incapable of stop crying!!!! And she can't decide which brother she wants to have sex with. Why doesn't she take part in a threesome???
ReplyDelete"Supposedly"--Moira was NOT there for Thea after the boat accident happened. I don't know if you ever lost a parent, but I did--at 16--my mother was there for me, but my godfather wasn't. I didn't hear a thing from him. And because of that, I didn't speak to him for two years and was very angry that he wasn't there when my father died. We still don't speak to this day. So, I can understand Thea's behavior towards her mother--it's not typical, bratty behavior because she has every reason to be upset and act out. Her mother wasn't there for her during the most traumatic time of her life.
ReplyDeleteKids get very upset when they believe their parents have cheated on their mother or father. Moira DID cheat, but Thea was wrong about the timeline. If she didn't cheat, Thea wouldn't have been created.
Moira helped participate in getting the town killed, which is why she went to prison. Were you watching the show by chance?
IF you think she has no reason to be upset, you are delusional.
So you're taking your own personal experience with Thea's….may I ask why? Do we have an actual proof that Moira stopped being there for Thea? No, we don't….we only have proof of how much Thea changed since the supposed deaths of both Robert and Oliver.
ReplyDeleteToss up between Laurel and Tyler ... I chose Laurel, easily because Katie makes her even more annoying!
ReplyDeleteI'm explaining why Thea's behavior is warranted based on personal experience. Although she may be fictional, mostly everything we read and watch is supposed to be based in some realism. Thea flat out said her mother wasn't there and I believe Moira even admitted to it. Do we even know how much Thea has changed since the deaths??? According to Oliver, his parents lack of parenting is why he ended up the way he did before his "death", so it's not far fetched for Thea to behave the way. Actually, she is less tame than he was.
ReplyDeleteAnd it's fine you feel the need to explain why you think such behavior is warranted, but you're not considering the FACT that we know of Thea's past. We don't know for sure if Moira just completely wasn't there for Thea the way she puts it, and 99% of the time, whatever the teenager in the situation says is usually the lie.
ReplyDeleteNo, that's not true that 99% of the time whatever a teen is saying is usually the lie. Teens tell the truth far more than they are given credit for.
ReplyDeleteBut, when Moira went through he phase of melancholy when Walter was gone, Thea said that Walter was the one who finally got their mother out of her room after the accident. If she was lying about her mother abandoning her emotionally after the accident happened, why would she use that same "lie" to tell the story of how they got together?
Again, despite Oliver's love for his mom, even he admits his mother wasn't there (or, at least, wasn't the greatest parent) and this was before the accident. So, you have both of her kids--one that mature considerably after he came back to life--both saying that there mother isn't winning any mother of the year awards soon and you still believe Thea is lying because she's a teen? Do teen not have real emotions and go through real situations? She may be rich, but most rich kids who have problematic behavior is due to hands off parents or parents who let them do whatever. In either case, money is thrown at them.
As I said before, I love Moira, but she did get her husband kidnapped and hired men to beat up her son to see what he knew about her shady dealings. But, the idea that she is a crummy mother is far fetch and Thea just has to be lying????
"Teens tell the truth far more than they are given credit for."
ReplyDeleteI can see that we will both disagree until we're blue in the face, or you always thought you were so perfect when you were a teenager.
lol. No, I knew I wasn't perfect as a teen, but I was known for my honesty, so there's that. My opinion wasn't discounted by others just because I was teen--I was trusted and considered mature for my age.
ReplyDeleteBelieving that Thea could be telling the truth about her mom doesn't mean that I thought I was perfect, that she is perfect, or that any teen in perfect. It means that I think that teens aren't given enough credit and/or taken seriously when they should be. If you think Moira's parental neglect of Thea is a lie and has nothing to do with Thea's behavior, you don't know much about child/teen development.
You can believe all you want, but you can't dismiss FACT that we at least know Thea partied way too much after Robert and Oliver's supposed deaths. We don't know for sure how much Moira left Thea alone. That's my entire point. For all the viewer knows, Thea shouldn't be so mad for no reason when we only know about Thea's partying ways and how she's only written as you basic teen.
ReplyDeleteReal girl? She is the biggest Mary Sue in the show. She is a special vampire snowflake that never screws up and is never wrong. And when she makes a mistake she blames somebody else for it. Also everybody falls in love with her out of the blue.
ReplyDeleteNobody is saying Tyler is a victim. He did his mistakes and owned up to them. Caroline is just a Mary Sue and a hypocrite that always blames her mistakes on somebody else. It isn't Tyler's fault that she slept with Klaus. She is her own person. And Tyler saved Caroline's life and her friends lives plenty of times so he doesn't own her anything.
ReplyDeleteErr...Thea's partying is a result of her father and brother's tragic death in addition to her mother shutting herself in a room for months. She has every reason to be mad. I don't know how you can separate those two things and try to make an argument when it has been said several times that her behavior stems from those events. Thea is clearly partying to escape not because she just wants to rebel. That's my entire point. She's not written as a basic teen, which is funny because you know nothing about teens.
ReplyDeleteFor months? What has Moira being depressed, because she lost her son and husband have to do with Thea partying for five years?
ReplyDeleteShe has no reason to be mad at Moira.
"...which is funny because you know nothing about teens."
Keep telling yourself that, lol. It's cool, I ain't mad, bro :)
No reason??? Understandably, Moira is depressed by the death of her husband and son, but she still had a daughter to take care of. Because of the emotional neglect of her mother, Thea began to act out and do irresponsible things. Her mother wasn't there for her in her time of need and she was lost.
ReplyDeleteAnd YET, as I CONTINUE to say….you have no proof, as anyone else does, that Moira didn't try to take care of her daughter. Letting Thea do what she wants as she did with Oliver does not say anything of how Moira wasn't at least there for her. The road also goes both ways; Thea became a hard party-goer and was not there for her mother.
ReplyDeleteBut, you probably don't understand adults…..
No, I do understand adults, but a child needs a parent more than a parent needs a child. When Robert and Oliver got killed, Thea was around 11-12. Are you telling me that Thea doesn't need her mother more than her mother needs her? Is that what you are implying?
ReplyDeleteThe proof is the fact that Moira never denied it and looked guilty. The proof is that Thea's story remained consistent both when she was upset with her mother and trying to look out for her. The proof is Moira admitting to failing her daughter.
Adults are better emotionally equipped, or should be, in dealing with stuff like this, which is why Moira is more at fault. Whatever fault Thea has, doesn't compare to what Moira did. Her second marriage is built upon the fact that Walter got her out of bed.
To my knowledge, Julie Plec started as the showrunner and didn't take over anything so she wouldn't fit as other anyway. You are good.
ReplyDeleteYes, people are people, but a child needs a parent because they are the ones who are shaping, guiding, molding, helping develop, and provides a huge emotional anchor for the child. A child can teach a parent things through observance and behavior, but it is not their responsibility to do those things for their parents. Since a parent has all of those responsibility, that is why a child needs a parent more. But, people don't need children, they want them. Yes, they love their children and children are important to them, but the things you are trying to compare are not the same--not in the least bit.
ReplyDeleteNo, you just lack comprehension skills and the basic ability to understand parent/child dynamics. But, yes, call me a lunatic because you fail to grasp what I was saying.
I'm not stating what I want, I'm stating what the series showed. If you missed it, not my problem.
You're not stating what the series show. You have not once stated what the series showed. The series showed a Thea who was become a party-goer for five years while the series only stated how Moira was absent for a couple months after the supposed deaths of Robert and Oliver. You continue to try to claim how Thea is written is perfectly, so either you don't know how teens really act when not everyone of them is so selfish as Thea has always been written as, or you don't understand adults by saying Moira should always be there for Thea no matter what, and the other way around just doesn't matter because reasons.
ReplyDeleteIf you continue to act like you have no idea what you're talking about, then go right ahead. You must still be a child anyways, so why am I getting stuck in this argument.
Everybody falls in love with Caroline?I don't remember anyone except Klaus and Tyler who was her boyfriend.I remember Caroline been rejected many time from mens and her friends. She was rejected even and from her parents. How is that makes Caroline a special snowflake?
ReplyDeleteOk,i got that you don't like Caroline, which is fine. But i am suprised because it's the first time i saw someone to call Caroline a Mary Sue.I saw that for Elena, even for TO Hayley but never for Caroline.People are dying to save Elena and you are saying that somebody else pays for what Caroline did..?Ok.
Of course Tyler had every right to seek revenge. But i don't think that she blames Tyler for her choices. She just wanted to explain to him.She blamed him for his behaviour, not for her choices. She also doesn't own him anything.
ReplyDelete"Only" stated. You think that statement isn't canon or something. They can't literally show everything. So, is it speculation that Moira didn't have an affair and Malcolm isn't Thea's real father since it was "only" stated?
ReplyDeleteI never said that Thea was written perfectly, I said that she matches someone who is a teen who has gone through a lot and is acting out. If that is what perfectly means to you, you said it, not me. Thea's selfishness is really her acting out due to her mother's "parenting" the past five years before Oliver came back. Selfish is wanting to spend time with your brother, selfish is be concerned about your mother when your stepfather leaves??? I didn't say the other way around didn't matter, I said it was MORE important for the parent to be there for their child. The parent should always be there because they are the child's support system--they have emotional maturity and structure.
You must be stuck in arrested development with this tragic argument you are having. I'm not pretending to understand you, I just don't agree with all this reaching you are doing.
I was already done then, child, and I'm done now.
ReplyDeleteHypocite Stefan Salvatore. ..
ReplyDeleteElena is a greek name which comes from Helena!
ReplyDeleteHow could anybody hate Finn (The 100)??, he's the most appealing character in the show, the only one who showed some common sense, just because he didn't tell Clarke he had a girlfriend??, please... he didn't even know he still did have, and under the circumstance I can't blame him at all, I know you have to include a character from the show but this one was a really bad choice, there were at least 10 much better options.
ReplyDeleteTrue. He's part of a story that works well.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if you have ever watched BATB, but the WORST show runner ever, the one that has killed more than one series (BATB and from what I have heard, Charmed) has got to be Brad Kern...
ReplyDeleteOK I know I'll get attacked for this so just know I won't be coming back to read any comments but for me the character is Felicity on Arrow. I just cringe every time she comes on the screen. They let her be too cutesy and silly. Her wise cracks just get old and she has "Lois Lane syndrome" where she is constantly put in danger because she involves herself where she shouldn't and then has to be saved by the hero. If they would just let her act a little more mature maybe I could be ok with her but they just let her act too childish. Also, know this has nothing to do with shipping. I don't care if Oliver ends up with anyone.
ReplyDeleteFrancis on Reign. He's just awful
ReplyDeleteOh what a fun game!! Let's do one for Thea!
ReplyDelete- runs away like a pissy little brat because her family lied to her
- comes back home
- lies about everything
Oh good, me too! But I think it may just be the actor, I do not like his acting at all. And his unattractiveness is distracting. I can't take him seriously as a Green Arrow sidekick, he's like a tiny little man.
ReplyDelete
