Twisted and Victorious star Avan Jogia will take on the role as the Egyptian ruler in the Viacom-owned cable network's original miniseries Tut, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
We are thrilled to work with such an incredibly gifted young actor who is perfectly suited to take on the immensely complex character of King Tutankhamun," said Spike original series exec vp Sharon Levy.
"Vancouver-born actor Avan Jogia will be an outstanding addition to the cast of Tut," added Michael Prupas, CEO of Muse Entertainment. "Jogia is a hot young talent with a loyal following who has already made a name for himself in film and television."

ReplyDeleteAvan Jogia + Tutankhamon = I'm in.
ReplyDeleteLove anything about that period in time i'm in ....at least for a few episodes!
ReplyDeleteIs it odd the first thing I thought was...
ReplyDelete"I wonder if he will use a skullcap for the role? "
Every role I've seen him in I felt like his hair should have received a supporting cast credit! XD
As far as I know Pharaohs shaved their heads... I wonder if he will dare to transform himself, just wear a skullcap or if the series will go a different route and have King tut with a mop of luxuriously coiffed hair....
Well SpikeTV does not make em think this will be on my regular watch list, but I am a sucker for period pieces in general, - especially for shows based in ancient Egypt! Okay, I may prefer Old Kingdom to New Kingdom, but it is still Ancient Egypt so I will be checking it out!
So true about it sounding dsilly! XD
ReplyDeleteI do use "Tut" myself though because I have seen so many different official spellings over the years! Tutankhamun, Tutenkhamen, Tutenkhamon etc
Well, also because I'm lazy and "Tut" is just faster! XD
Not knowing him i looked him up and i swear,he could be a character (by looks, have no idea what he sounds like) in GoT!
ReplyDeleteYep,I love anything and everything to do with that time period,Tut and other Pharaohs!
