ReplyDeleteSo, this is different then The Returned that will air on A&E, in the US, next year where Carlton Cuse is showrunning, correct? That one will be season 1 and based off of 'The Returned' that is the subject of this post, right? Lol, I'm getting confused by all these shows where the dead come back to life. What happened to good ol' Zombies?!?
ReplyDeleteYes this is about season 2 of the French series which is the basis for the A&E version by Cuse. The French series is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI think the USA version will be different but with the same plot. ( loved ones returning from the dead ) and of course with different actors but they'll have the same name as the French version.... Yep, it just got messier.... :D

ReplyDeleteJust to make it really confusing The Returned (Les Revenants) is actually based upon a 2004 French film called They Came Back (also titled Les Revenants)!
ReplyDeleteSo yes this is the French series, which The Returned (A&E series) is adapting.
Then you have the ABC series Resurrection which is starting its second season soon which has a similar premise but isn't a direct adaptation but is an adaptation of a 2013 novel called The Returned by Jason Mott.
Yeah....but I recommend this French show its really eerie and has a different vibe to it.
If you haven't had a chance to see Les Revenants (The Returned) it is on Netflix.It only has 8 episodes which i wound up watching at one time it was so good...I highly recommend it!
ReplyDeleteLes Revenants was my favorite new show in 2013. It really drew me in, with it's beauty and creepiness. I highly recommend it.
