A rumour circulated two days ago about this. Emily has now seemingly confirmed it with a string of replies to fans questions this morning on twitter...

This is stupid, first they completely rearrange the show and the team and now just after 1 season another team change.

ReplyDeleteHer character didn't add much to S6. She played an important role in Jane coming back to the states, yes, but then she was just there just to be there. At least a love triangle would've been interesting. Now if she's just just gone in S7 it'll feel like a loose thread.

ReplyDeleteWell she was planned as love interest for Jane, ice queen to defrost and competition for Lisbon. Then they scrapped that idea and she was stripped of any traits and quirks and Pike was added. Who was not any better as character, only more unstable "will you marry me?" (in the office full of other agents, in the middle of the day (sic!))

ReplyDeleteProbably it was her decision, I liked the character! Thought it was cool dual Fisher and Lisbon! While she and Jane had no chemistry! But good luck to Emily and long life to The Mentalist (was, is and will continue to be a great show)

ReplyDeleteEven though I can't say I was a big fan of Fischers, I'm suprised by this. I wonder now if Swallow leaving was behind the creation of Vega and as some short of replacement for Lisbon, since last the FBI knew Lisbon had put in for a transfer to DC. It sure will be intresting as to how they plan on writting Fischer out, and if they do it in the primere or maybe wait to do it in episode three while Jane and Lisbon are out of the country.
