Believe it or not… The Greatest American Hero is poised to fight another day.
Fox has given a put pilot order (i.e. virtually guaranteed to air) to a remake of the unlikely superhero series, which ran for three seasons on ABC in the early 1980s.
In Fox’s remake, Ralph is now inner-city school teacher Isaac. The Lego Movie writers-directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller will shepherd the project, which is being written by Rodney Rothman (22 Jump Street, Late Show With David Letterman).

As much as I liked this show growing up, I'd rather get my hands on DVD sets of the original than watch a reboot.
ReplyDeleteI loved this growing up! Even though virtually every episode was him saving someone that was kidnapped I still enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteLol, you're funny
ReplyDeleteYou know you have been singing or at least humming the theme song off and on all day! It is one of those infuriating songs that just gets stuck in your mind!
ReplyDeleteI have been since I read the post, lol.
ReplyDeleteThis isn't as far fetched as it may seem. If it makes it to air, this will likely be similar to Chuck. All you do is subtract the intersect and add a super-suit.
ReplyDeleteI remember this show! The theme song is infectious - I will be singing it for days now.
ReplyDeleteAfter Hieroglyph and Emerald City, I don't give much weight to the "virtually guaranteed to air" part. This was a great show but I'll believe it when episodes actually start airing (and even then, won't count on a season 2 **cough** Almost Human **cough**).
LOL - you are so right! This theme song ranks right up there with Gilligan's Island and The Love Boat!
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
ReplyDeleteEasily one of the all-time most memorable theme songs.
I would substitute The Brady Bunch for Love Boat though since I never knew the Love Boat lyrics other than the title. XD
Wasn't a big fan of The Brady Bunch growing up so I didn't learn that one. My grandma babysat me every night and she never missed an episode of The Love Boat so it is forever seared into my brain ;-)
ReplyDeleteLoved this show. Not sure how I feel about a remake, will wait and see.
ReplyDeleteI loved the original and the cast, the theme song so very infectious I'm going to hold off and see who's in the reboot before, I get into, you know what they say if it ain't broke don't fix it!!
ReplyDeleteAaah man, Thanks for that you made me go back in time, that was awesome, nobody is gonna be Ralph like William Katt, I hope this reboot works though!!
