The Blacklist - Netflix acquires rights for $2 Million per Episode

Aug 28, 2014

In what is believed to be the biggest subscription video-on-demand deal for a TV series, I’ve learned that Netflix has acquired the rights to hit NBC drama The Blacklist from Sony Pictures TV in a deal that will net $2 million per episode. I hear Season 1 of the series starring James Spader will debut on the streaming service next weekend. As for future seasons, Netflix usually makes them available shortly after the season finales.

  4. Considering how well it went on Live+7 DVR, it's actually understandable.

  7. TNT bought the rights to Hawaii Five-0 for a little over $2 Million an episode. Not a good investment for TNT.

  10. Wishful thinking but no they won't. S2 will air a few weeks after the season ends....which still isn't a bad deal..
