The 100 - Season 2 - Eliza Taylor Zap2It Interview

Aug 7, 2014

What will Clarke be like in Season 2?
Taylor: A lot more of the same. She's just getting darker and darker and what I love about what's happening throughout the series, of going from being a prisoner to becoming this fearless leader and then being a prisoner again, since the last time we saw her it came full circle. She's back in this position of being helpless and a prisoner. You can expect her to use some of the skills she's picked up outside to fight as hard as she can to get out.

Will she be escaping from Mount Weather anytime soon?
She's gone Jason Bourne. She's turned into such a crazy fighter. You're definitely going to see her do whatever she can to find out where her people are and if they're alive and she's going to try to get out.

Can we expect Clarke and Finn to have any romance this season?
I don't think that the story is going in that direction. I think they don't want it to be a typical CW show. And I'm okay with that. I did love their relationship but I think we had that moment too soon in the series. They could have kept it where they kept people guessing will they-won't they a little bit longer. Once it was done with the entrance of Raven, I just think that there were more important things to do like fight Grounders.

What about Clarke and Bellamy?
I think the dynamic between Bellamy and Clarke is really interesting and given the fan reaction, I'd certainly like to see that develop more. But they won't tell me if that's going to happen, and I don't even know if we're going to see him again!

  2. I love that Eliza Taylor is so down to Earth!
And I'm glad they are ditching the romance, even if it's only for the time being; this show goes beyond the standards of a CW show and it's way more mature so I like to see that they don't need to rely on this stuff; sure, they can bring it sometimes along the way, but I'm so glad it's not the main focus

  3. Yes, please! Finn and Clarke should never happen, ew. I'd rather have Belamy and Clarke slowly developing, while the focus remains on he story, not romance.

  4. Me too. As much as I want Bellarke I can be patient and I don't want this show to be all about romance. I'm glad they aren't listening to the obnoxious shippers like most CW shows usually do.

  5. This show gos beyond the standards of most shows to be honest. I have the dream that one day it will blow cw ratings out of the water the way TWD blows AMC's rating ouf of the water lol. It will never happen I now but a guy can dream. I LOVE this show.

  6. I don't know if that will happen but I think the network is changing the perception people have slowly. I think The Flash will be a hit and The Messengers looks like a very adult show (no young characters, no romance, different types of people) so I hope it helps the reputation of the network and it brings more attention to The 100 and the other CW shows.

  7. You and me both!
I adore this show and I really hope it could climb its way upwards on the ratings the same way TWD and Scandal did. Although unlikely, I'd love for that to happen.

I think the show is just one few steps shorts of becoming truly great, but so far is has been incredibly good and I have high hopes for season 2.

  8. Those interviews regarding the romance in the show are pointless, because actors and producer will not reveal anything anyway, they are just trying to keep the all the fans calm - as they did in season 1. Clarke basically showed her feelings for Finn in the finally, and JR said in an earlier interview that she will feel guilty about leaving both of them behind. He made in explicitly clear that Clarke is in love with Finn, I wonder why he ever said that if not to make a point that he doesn't want to be influenced by fans. At CC he also said they want to tone down the romance and just go for occasional sex ... whoever is having it...

Clarke is separated from Finn and Bellamy, both, so those characters more likely have no interaction at all in the first episodes, so to me those romance questions are like nagging relentlessly without getting anywhere. The remaining of the 100 will bond against the adults this season- this what they said, so my guess is that Finn and Bellamy will team up to find the people in Mount Wheather, so I wonder if there will be any romance at all for Clarke this season. The show runner sure will not have another love triangle.

I cannot wait for Season 2, October 22nd cannot be soon enough. I am pretty sure both Finn and Bellamy are alive, but I would tune in even if they would be dead, there are enough other characters I like to keep watching. So I wonder why they keep it such a secret.
