I saw it a couple of days ago, but I did enjoy it. Really good show. Sean Bean kills it as Martin Odum. By the way, I'm a sucker for these kind of shows.
Good Pilot episode.. good intro of characters, nice pace of the story.. Enjoyed it.. Reminds me of Bourne Identity which I also liked.. Look forward to the next episode.
I rated an 8.0. I thought it was good, not great for a pilot. Of course this type of government conspiracy plot, has been done before. And the "southern bigot terrorists" story, is getting old. At least it was only the "case of the week", i hope.
I read somewhere, that there are only 7 stories in the world. It's all about how you present them, the makes them fresh. I love spy thrillers, and Sean Bean is a good actor, so i'm willing to give this show a chance.
I voted "Ok." I like the characters and casting so far, but some of it made me roll my eyes... The premise is not that hard to grasp, and I didn't need excessive flashbacks to something that wasn't all that built up in the first place. TNT you're a cable channel, quit trying to hold my hand and overemphasize something when that awkward "I don't know who I am" thing could be laid out so much better. (Like, not dropping that on us immediately and expecting it to have emotional depth?)
Sean Bean was great as per usual, Ali Larter is more convincing in this than she was in Heroes, and I loved seeing Tina Majorino! :)
My greatest fear for the show is that TNT will continue to dumb it down to the level they did in the pilot like you mentioned.
Although I think the flashbacks are and will continue to be an integral part of the series. We need the flashbacks so Martin Odum can uncover clues about who he is and connect it to the present. I do agree though it was handled very clumsily. With an actor the quality of Sean Bean they could have a much more subtle and nuanced approach, but...
Again, it is on TNT. They will inevitably dumb it down so a even a lobotomized chimp can follow the story.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteIt was good, but mainly because of Sean Bean´s great acting. I´ll watch a few more episodes and then decide.
