I like that at first you didn't know this was a flash back episode. It was really cool to see certain characters and what their life was like before. Especially Patti and how she was in therapy with Laurie as her therapist. And I think I solved the mystery of the show........................Nyan Cat did it!
Nicely done episode all round. The biggest surprise being Laurie's unborn child... Did it disappear from the womb? I'm glad they decided not to show that because I didn't want to start crying in McDonald's.
Do we know what caused the manhole to explode? And who were those women in the car?
A bold choice to have the second-to-last episode in a season be a flashback episode. This is probably my favorite episode after "Guest". It was interesting to see what the character's lives was like before the SD.
I'm hoping we get a nice roundup of answers in the finale, with just enough mystery to serve as a cliffhanger taking us into season two.
I don't want another Lost either. I've said here before, I love Lost with all my heart but I haven't got the energy to do all that again. I just want to check in once a week and watch it.
Laurie's pregnancy was a surprise, I was wondering if the Garveys had lost anyone on that day. And now I am wondering if she told him about her pregnancy later or if she kept quiet.
I was not expecting a flashback episode but I'm glad we got one. It was great seeing Jill all happy, poor kid has really been screwed up. It was interesting to see how messed up Kevin has always been and possibly mental illness issues before his father went crazy post Departure day.
The best thing for me was getting to see Patti again and confirmation that Laurie was her therapist.
There seems to be a lot more of a supernatural/mystery element to the show than the book, I wonder if people like Patti really could see something bad was coming.
Those women in the car seems to be pre-GR because if you see, Kevin was smoking and wearing a white shirt! :O That's why maybe they thought he was the man they were looking for.
Awesome episode! I had no idea that we were getting a flashback (very clever promo), what a nice surprice. So I´m guessing that he Garveys relationship got a lot more screwed up after the SD, because Kevin couldn´t really tell anyone what he had experienced that day. And Laurie didn´t want to share her day either, so they each had to suffer on their own.
I loved seeing Tom with his family for the first time. Hope he get´s back to them somehow (maybe in season 2)
And it was great to see Patty again. I wonder if she really did feel something coming.
Brilliant episode, and after the amazing 'Guest', it is my favourite so far! It provided perspective on so many of the earlier episodes, and will make rewatching the season so much more rewarding...yes, that's right, it's giving me Lost-feels and I LOVE IT
This episode had a huge LOST feel to it. The prolonged flashback helped to fill in and put together a number of pieces of the big puzzle this small town is. I loved to see Patti and how troubled she appeared to be, and also Gladys as the lovely dog breeder. Kudos all around to the people involved in this show.
Aww yeah Gladys, considering how messed up the dogs became post Departure I imagine their behavior is what messed up Gladys and convinced her to join the GR.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

Can't wait til next week :-D
Another good episode. Not the best, but still very good
ReplyDeleteStarting to feel like Lost 2.0 with these mysteries. NOT COOL.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, I'm digging the show more and more.

ReplyDeleteMy feeling is she didn't tell him about the pregnancy and that is one of the reasons he has no idea why she would join the GR.

Gets better and better with each week.

ReplyDeleteThe best episode of the season.
ReplyDeleteIt's curious that in the paper that Kevin finds on the deer is written "It's a girl", that's what the chinese girl told Tom after giving birth.
ReplyDeleteNice catch!

ReplyDeleteAnd Gladys as the dog breeder. Great episode.
ReplyDeleteI agree. It had me gripped to the screen.

ReplyDeleteThat's a possibility -- but I think she lost someone in the Sudden Departure.
