pretty good ep... I know it makes for exciting tv, but it doesn't make sense to me that the captain of the ship would go on every single mission... I would think that those missions would be delegated.... a couple of nitpicks I had were: they seemed to be very concerned about making radio calls to not give away their location, but the helo seemed to be broadcasting pretty regularly during it's search, and unless it was sunk as well, I don't know why Tex and the Capt didn't try to swim to the Russian boat that was attacking them, it seemed it was relatively close by. set up what should be a good ep next week.
I refer to the Captain going on all of these missions as "Star Trek" syndrome. :-) I file it in that same bag as I do "Movie Physics" It's not easy to blow up a car's gas tank in the real world, but in the movies...blow on a car and it's tank explodes. You're right. In the real world the grunts go on the dangerous missions not the Captain. Here, the stars of the show play the captain and XO (last week they were BOTH off the shop on a mission) so they get to be in the fun action scenes.
Was anyone surprised that it was the Russian helicopter that picked up the Captain? :-) By the time they pointed out that the Russian were sending fake messages about the Captain and Tex being drowned I was certain that the helicopter was Russian. At least now there's a way to get that poor woman and her child off the Russian ship.
Good performances and I liked the simple story.
Oh, and a question...my take was that the scientist on the Russian ship made himself...not immune but prevents his dying from the scene but he's still contagious. Is that how others saw that scene?
I found the ep very confusing of how we got from last week to this. Suddenly they are back to fighting the Russians? It made no sense to me. Plus the whole idea of fighting them is ridiculous. Fighting for what? If there's no governments left and most of the people are dead, they should all be working together on the virus.
As to your earlier post: The Russians have been looking / following them since they first encountered them.
Am very concerned w the russian's scientist ...... Did he n his (?) wife start the outbreak ? Sure seems that way - and tying it w human DNA too ! Do the Ruskies REALLY know who this guys is?
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteIt's all about power. Also if you control the cure you control it's price.
ReplyDeleteThere is no money, though. But I guess trading.
ReplyDeletePower doesn't always = money.
