So much anger/tension in this episode. It's killing me.
David is in a pitiful state. That's karma. As William said before, he is the man he is because of David.
Knew Noma was an angel! After that talk with Arika it's the first thing that came to mind.
Uriel is confusing me. ha She's a REALLY good actress playing sides like that.
I was not expecting the role reversal at the end. I knew Michael would have a dark past but Gabriel protecting humans from him? That's really surprising.
I was a disappointed by that. I like how they have shown, that Michael has flaws. But they showed him, as once being no better than Gabriel. I loved the flawed hero, fighting the bad guys. But the villain turned hero, seeking atonement, no so much. Still a good episode however.
Oh my God! David, poor David. He really is in a bad state. His son is cruel, beyond what I believed him capable of. Was he seriously going to watch his father get eaten by a lion??? But William better be aware of the evil that he is creating in his father. The man is already bad but once cornered, I think he will be very lethal.
i was shocked about Noma. Didn't see that one.
I am sad about the mistrust that has been created between Michael and Alex. I was hoping their relationship would continue to grow positively but this is a serious setback. Alex doesn't know who to trust now.
i like that story better than the ark but 1 child survived thought right or they dint show it but Michael is not one to leave a task undone so im guess he got that kid a little later on.
Yeah, I was hoping for a less villainly past myself - hoping for a bit more grey area which no smirk would have accomplished just fine. But since it was a long time ago and it's angels and given some of the things God made angels do in religion, I'm forgiving the writers.
I loved it! So much going in that episode, it was brilliantly done. I'm so disappointed (and surprised) that more people aren't watching this. I really hope it's renewed, i'll be so annoyed if it's cancelled, and i'll be even more annoyed if this is cancelled and Defiance is renewed since imo the quality of Defiance has gone way down to the point that i've stopped watching. I thought nothing could surprise me more than The 100 did this year but Dominion is just an amazing show :)
No. Check the sneak peek on SyFy. You will see that he was just doing God's will. He was taught a lesson and he learned from it. Great episode. I like that all the characters have flaws, especially the archangels.
I loved this episode! I saw some people weeks earlier guessed Noma was an Angel, but it wasn't until this episode when she was arguing with Ethan that I realized they were probably right. Cool twist. I love Michael and Gabriel's past, with Gabriel being on the side of humans and Michael being a blood cold attack dog for God- now I really want to know what changed both of them. I love Uriel, I need to know what her game is. I kinda love William, he's so crazy and messed up, but also earnest at the same time, it's just so bizarre to watch his version of 'tough love' and 'helping' his father. And I gotta say, if Alex goes to Gabriel he's a damn idiot- I don't care if Michael has a sordid past or lied to him, the guy has been protecting humanity for 25 years while Gabriel has been trying to wipe them all out, why on earth would he go to him? Does he think he's somehow better than Michael? If anything they're both bad options. Also I'm wondering if we're going to get payoff with Becca and all these secret tests and experiments she's running, I can't imagine Michael would be too happy if he found out (get ready for another flood, indeed).
Especially about Alex going to Gabriel. He knows what Gabriel's done, and his following angels have killed his parents so Gabriel thinking Alex would choose him essentially over humanity is a really dumb idea. He can turn him against Michael, but there should be no way to turn Alex against humanity.
I mean, I guess if Gabriel promised him that if he came to him he'd stop hunting down humans, I could see Alex doing it- he'd still be an idiot for trusting him, but I'd understand his motive, because he'd be doing it to save humanity (maybe there's a way to stop the war and stop all the killing/bring God back). But if he's going to Gabriel because he's pissed at Michael (and it looks like the two are fighting in the promo, unless that's some twisty ploy) then I'll lose any respect I have for him. Some savior he'd be.
*goes to watch the sneak peek* OK yeah, they're being way too honest, it's probably a trap to get Michael close enough to kill Gabriel (and he won't, because I refuse to believe we'll lose Gabriel as a character).
Rewatching the clip, I think if anything maybe Alex would go to talk to Gabriel to see if he can change his mind about humanity (Afterall, Gabriel defended them in the past).
I'd kinda like that, but I hope Alex has a better battle plan that simply appealing to Gabriel's inner goodness, like maybe the tattoos gave him some kind of hint what to say/do.
It looked more like Uriel got in the middle of Michael about to kick Gabriel ass. I doubt Uriel or Gabriel could beat Michael even together i doubt it.
He chose Michael at the end of that scene. That's why he evicted Gabriel. He was doubting Michael's MOTIVES but he knows that he's the good one. Re-watch that scene in the stratosphere and you will catch that Alex is angry because of all the secrets that Michael has kept from him but he knows which of them to trust. Especially after listening to their conversation about the killing of the higher angels. Right vs Wrong.
Certainly not going to trust Gabriel, no matter Michael's past. Gabriel and the angels who follow him have killed people he's cared about. Wouldn't make sense for him to run to Gabriel. Michael's kept secrets, but Gabriel has proven he's not on humanity's side - which is the side Alex is on. I don't think he'd even bargain with him like William because Alex cares about innocent people and doesn't want anyone to die.
I don't think it was necessarily about trust, evicting Gabriel. Alex knows Gabriel's against humanity. It's not hard to chose to evict him instead of going "Michael's lied to me so I'm joining Gabriel against humanity". imo
Gabriel is supposed to be quite powerful. While not as powerful as Michael, 2 vs. one archangel would give an advantage. Gabriel and Uriel aren't that weak. Even Furiad can hold his own against Michael for a good while.
You'll get answers in the next episode/the sneak peek.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

So was the Noah ark story in this really Michael killing all the humans who started to worship the angels cause god dint want humans to worship them?
ReplyDeleteThere's more to that story, though. He was commanded to destroy the nephilim and the humans who had started to worship them. The Flood was needed.
ReplyDeletenext week is not the finale there is 2 more episodes ;)
ReplyDeleteYep, it was ordered by God. But yikes, Michael seemed to enjoy it. That smirk.
ReplyDeleteExplains the guilt Alex mentioned.
The creator said that changed and the 2 episodes were combined into an hour and a half finale. Check TV Guide for proof.
ReplyDeleteaahh ok sorry, my bad, I didn't know ! on STV+ it still says 2 episodes 7th and 14th that's why... But it's even better if we get an hour finale ! :D
ReplyDeleteI usually look at wikipedia and it says the same thing. Only found out by the creator Vaun Wilmott on Twitter a few days ago.
ReplyDeleteYes, Michael was the flood.
ReplyDeleteI was a disappointed by that. I like how they have shown, that Michael has flaws. But they showed him, as once being no better than Gabriel. I loved the flawed hero, fighting the bad guys. But the villain turned hero, seeking atonement, no so much. Still a good episode however.

ReplyDeleteShockers, twists and campy sibling fun, all in one episode. I love it.
ReplyDeleteAlso, i got to hand it to whoever directed this episode. All the scenes of Louise/Gabriel that were dually shot were pretty seamless.

Or maybe that kid, was Alex's ancestor?
ReplyDeleteI thought that originally, there was supposed to be 10 episodes? This was 7, two combined for an hour and a half finale, would make 9.
ReplyDeleteNo. Check the sneak peek on SyFy. You will see that he was just doing God's will. He was taught a lesson and he learned from it. Great episode. I like that all the characters have flaws, especially the archangels.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they're counting the longer Pilot (an hour) as 2 episodes?

ReplyDeleteIt might be a twisty ploy I'm thinking after seeing the sneak peek for next week. Michael's being honest with Alex.
ReplyDelete*goes to watch the sneak peek* OK yeah, they're being way too honest, it's probably a trap to get Michael close enough to kill Gabriel (and he won't, because I refuse to believe we'll lose Gabriel as a character).
ReplyDeleteNah, they wouldn't kill the major villain this soon.
ReplyDeleteRewatching the clip, I think if anything maybe Alex would go to talk to Gabriel to see if he can change his mind about humanity (Afterall, Gabriel defended them in the past).
ReplyDeleteThat kid i doubt was Alex's ancestor but i do wonder since they din't show it did Michael kill him or was he the one who got away.
